In town for Irish Dancing and stopped in for a late lunch. Staff was friendly and the place wasn't busy. Seated right away. Food was good and timely although a bit overpriced for the portion. What a fantastic place!!! I popped into Branding Iron around 4:30 on a Tuesday and there were lots of folks. I thought I was in between the lunch and dinner crowd and was surprised to see lots of people. This is a sign of a great place to The server and bartender were both really nice which adds to the home feeling you get from the truly "Wyoming" vibe. I went with the tortellini not only for the filling but the awesome creamy pesto sauce. And the cowboy bites are clever and tasty. The sauce that came with them was outstanding. Tried something new on a short trip to Casper. The ambience was cool and the place had a nice vibe, but overall the food was just okay. I was especially disappointed with the bison stuffed tortellini -- both the presentation and the flavor fell short of expectations. Serving it in what looked like a mixing bowl felt tacky and didn't do the dish any favors. On a positive note, the server was friendly and provided good service. My son and I went for dinner. We got cowboy bites and fried green tomatoes, they were awesome. We also got the Nashville chicken sandwich w/ pork belly mac n cheese, and the Kona burger with curly fries. The burger was awesome, nice and juicy, with a lot of different flavors. The curly fries looked like it was the bottom of the bag...a lot of small pieces. Every one that he picked up that was actually curled he was like mom look at this one. The Mac n cheese wasn't anything special and there wasn't a lot of pork belly on top. The chicken sandwich was good...i felt like i got gypped on the coleslaw, and maybe could have used some sauce of some sort. On the other hand our waitress was SUPER attentive and VERY nice. Tried this place after the first lunch spot we wanted to go to was nonexistent. Really glad we ended up here, 10/10 would do again and recommend to a friend. We're a party of six, started with steak bites, and cheese curds both great. For lunch we had the Philly, Milwaukee, Lobough, and one of the chicken sandwiches. Everyone really liked their food. Very first time I've ever been to the branding iron. Good restaurant got some good high-quality meat there I got some bison and yak and some all-around good burgers. I of course I always ask what the waiter or waitress recommend and this time I went with one of theirs. Very good delicious. We had a big group and our waitress used on top of everything made sure we had everything we need. No back up no problem. The ambience in the building was very good. They also have outside seating but inside it was good low music behind you because you have a great conversation with your group and what not. We stopped here during happy hour and we are happy we did. We shared two appetizers, a buffalo burger and two drinks. All were wonderful. The jalapeño poppers where delicious because you can tell they used fresh jalapeños and the buffalo burger had nice flavor too. I also had the prickly pear margarita and it was a generous amount. I came here tonight while staying overnight in Cheyenne WY...I was in the mood for a steak and looked this place up. Sat down looked at the menu no steak! The pictures on Yelp show a steak and so I was looking forward to that. Nope not anymore or maybe a special so a little disappointed to start. Inside this place is really cool and inside an old building with modern vibes to it. They have really nice bar area as well but I sat in the restaurant area. Another thing on this night the place wasn't busy at all with lots of seating options and the hostess sits me literally right next to a lady with her small kids maybe 10-12" of separation. I have my own kids and they are grown but these kids were very hyper and kinda felt bad but not what I wanted to deal with while trying to enjoy my food. For food I started with the green chili it was just ok and to be honest way too many raw onions on top. Wasn't my favorite, but the grilled tortillas on the side were a nice touch. For dinner since no steak I had the burger with fried jalapeños, guacamole and bacon. This was a very good burger with great flavors and finally a burger perfectly cooked. Came on a random weeknight while in town visiting family for Thanksgiving. The place was not crowded and service was good. We tried the Cody burger and subbed yak in the Louisville burger. The food was well-cooked and didn't have to wait long. The only con is the signage for the restaurant. It's not easily visible, which makes locating it difficult and question if you're in the right place. read more

Probably the filthiest, most disgusting dining room floor I've ever witnessed. The whole place smelled horrible due to the extremely unsanitary conditions. We were invisible to the staff for the 1st 20 minutes of our nightmare experience. For our wait we received overseasoned meat & inaccurate food vs how it was described on their menu. I've been the twice now. Their burgers are okay, not bad but not stand out amazing. Both times I got take out so I can't say that much about waitstaff. I felt like it took longer to get our food than I expected when the restaurant didn't seem busy. Prices seem fair given the location and type of restaurant. The restaurant was a neat place. Our server was kind and attentive. The burger was cooked medium and I usually order my burgers medium well. I wasn't impressed with the gamey taste. That had nothing to do with the restaurant it was strictly the meat. We ordered the Nashville cauliflower and I wish I had ordered it and the sweet potato fries only. Seriously disappointed I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger. The patty was super thin like the cheap kind you buy at the grocery store. But at least they are cheap! The price was excessive considering there was more bun and cheese than meat. It was dry and over cooked because who cold make that to order. The fries were curly and cold! Again what a disappointment. My guest had the Philly cheese steak it looked good and he had no complaints he had cheese curd with his sandwich and he really enjoyed them. The restaurant is cold so take a coat. It's nicely decorated and the room with the bar tooled very inviting and looked like a classy spot to have a drink. I don't think I will return to eat. Maybe get a drink but there are a lot of restaurants around there so not sure I would just go for a drink when I can get food and drinks across the street or next down the street. The waitress was very nice but rushed us a bit. I had not even looked at the entire menus when she came back the second time. But her personality was fun and cheerful and helpful. read more

My salad came with a piece of garlic cheese bread. Veggies were fresh. Lettuce crisp. Could have used a few more cucumbers but I liked it. The atmosphere was rustic. Service was excellent. Parking was on street but not a problem finding a spot (no fees for on street parking). They did charge a 3.5% fee if you used a credit card so we paid in cash. Good stop. read more
