I went months and months of applying endlessly, and the only interviews I seem to get were the ones where I had a connection (and I'm not particularly good with networking to begin with, so they were far and few). I searched for 'top recruiters in Boston' and let's just say they all disappointed. I won't mention them by name, but they wasted my time, gave me false hope and had little follow-through on their part, with no contact for months, and I would get pathetic, measly replies after hounding them. After being burnt several times by useless recruiting agencies (you know who you are), I decided that I will try the next one down the list, with no expectations whatsoever. I worked primarily with Dave, and he was so caring and kind, and I finally felt I had my own cheerleader in this dreadful job hunting process. Within a week, he had 3 interviews lined up for me. Within 2.5 weeks, from first contact, I started my new job! I would've started sooner if it weren't for the holidays. They really follow-through, and when they say they're looking for openings for you, they mean it! Before every interview, I had a call with Dave to prep me for what's to come. I didn't even ask for it -- he just did it! They went above and beyond, and they continue to keep in touch with me to make sure all is good in the new place. I met several former Manning candidates in this job and other places I interviewed, and they all have nothing but amazing things to say, and it's no surprise there. I know at this point I am sounding like I get commission for endorsements lol, but the truth is, I was in a difficult spot, mentally, financially, and I would want anyone else in a similar situation to find the same help that I did. Vocational rehabilitation, if you will. Save yourself the frustration, and start with them first.

It was so refreshing to have people in your corner who are dedicated to getting you placed in a role. Ellie is an absolute sweetheart and she and Kelly worked around the clock to get me into a position. I'm genuinely a little sad that I won't get my daily (yes, you read that correctly DAILY) updates from my girls at Manning. Thank you so much to the Manning team! Work with them, you will not regret it!

I did not want to write a review until my time with Hollister came to an end. I feel like it can be tricky to review a staffing agency, as each person has their own individual experience with the agency and their placements, but I had a very positive experience with Hollister. I have worked with several temp agencies in the Boston area over the years and Hollister is by far the best one in my experience. Each recruiter and staff member I have worked with has been personable and professional, and they have all gone above and beyond to help me achieve my career goals. Unlike other agencies, I did not feel like a cog in the wheel, but rather like a valuable candidate with desirable skills. Remember, you get back what you put into your experience with any temp/staffing agency: if you show motivation, a strong work ethic, and the drive to be successful, they will want to place you somewhere great! Josh C. was my main contact during my time with Hollister. He checked in with me and made sure I was happy with my placements and helped me develop professionally. It was a pleasure to work with him. Megan helped to prepare me for interviews for permanent placements while I temped. Josh and Megan gave me resume tips, interview tips, and were very prompt about getting back to me regarding potential placements and interviews. Megan even took the time out of her day to meet with me after work, since my schedule would not allow for me to make it to State Street to meet with her before 5pm. Hollister not only helped me to find work quickly in November after I was laid off from my previous job, but I also felt that I have grown professionally from my experiences. p.s. There is a past review about waiting a long time for pay checks--this was never a problem for me.

Their website is horrible: 1. it starts every listing with "We are The Hollister Group, the Boston area's leading women-owned staffing firm guiding candidates through the job search process and connecting top-tier talent with opportunities." HEY! WE DON'T CARE! WE WANT AT LEAST A SNIPPET OF A JD! 2. When you click to learn about a job and then go back to the full list, you have to sort again and start at the top. Really? You can't figure out a way around this? I'm on the job seeker side and I would NEVER, EVER, EVER recommend these guys. What a waste. But when I'm on the employer side, this is DEFINITELY NOT a company I'd use to staff a job.

I went into the office the next day and the position I applied for was available and ready. I started work on Monday. While I discussed my pay rate they were more that willing to accommodate me. Everything was set up VIA e-mail and off I went. I worked for the company over a year before they decided to close but the entire time I worked Kathy was in contact with me. I am now seeking employment once again and PSG is the first place I went to. I spoke to Kathy and she was honest with me, there is no opening right now. Thank you for all your professionalism and care over the last year. Anyone that has dealt with agencies before knows that nothing is definite. You can see an add on a post and so does 100 other job seekers. I have dealt with just about every agency in the greater Boston area and the only one that I ever landed a job with is PSG. I personally would go no place else.

It doesn't matter if they change their…read morename from Professional Staffing Group (PSG) to ProPivotal Staffing; the service quality and value are still the same--HORRIBLE--just hiding under a different/new name. I selected a phone screen date for October 14th at 12:15 pm (confirmation email received), to which NO ONE CALLED ME! Nor did I receive any follow-up to my voicemail left that same day. I was under the impression that because Ezra S reached out to me I would be interviewing with him, but I realized the call was scheduled with one of their other recruiters, Rica DC. In my opinion and experience, Rica is a HORRIBLE RECRUITER, as are most, if not all of their current staff of recruiters, as well as their Account Manager, Frank G! They take no initiative to help job seekers with the process, and they have poor follow-up practices (basically they have NONE). The last interaction with a recruiter made me feel like I was being gaslit into believing I was the reason I wasn't getting selected by their clients, not because they lacked effective and timely communication -- and they provided no feedback or real palpable support on how an applicant can improve so they can be successful in being assigned to their client pool. I reached out to ProPivotal (aka PSG) for employment assistance back in March 2024. They didn't follow up with me again until June 2024 when Rica reached out with an Emerson College opportunity. We had a great interview, she told me she would pass my resume on to the client, and I would hear a decision back from her by the end of the week. Needless to say, I had to chase Rica AND ProPivotal (aka PSG) for almost a month to get my answer from them about moving forward, because they never answered my many voicemails or emails left to them during that time. I hadn't received a follow-up from ANYONE since my initial interview in June 2024. The next time anyone contacted me was in August 2024, and it was only to answer a survey about how well Rica's performance was in helping me find employment (THE NERVE!). I take issue with the continuous ghosting tactics performed by the recruiters at ProPivotal (aka PSG). It has gotten insanely unprofessional at this point, and my opinion and experience with ProPivotal (aka PSG) has drastically gone down. I have to say, since switching from PSG Staffing to ProPivotal Staffing, I have felt abandoned, overlooked, underserved, and beyond frustrated with how their staff performs recruitment. I never had such difficulties with PSG and always managed to land short and long-term assignments without issue. I have more than qualifiable skills that plenty of their clients would be more than happy to have on their team, even temporarily. So I am truly disappointed, and at this point, done with ProPivotal (aka PSG) as an employment resource. It has been no resource or help to me since 2018. Until changes are made to their business practices (service, quality, values, etc.) and even their recruiting staff, I will no longer be seeking them for assistance with job placement. Also, I will be filing a formal complaint with The Massachusetts Department of Labor and Employment, Employment, placement, and staffing agencies program. I suggest that anyone who has gone through a similar experience with ProPivotal (aka PSG) or any other staffing agency do the same. There needs to be some audit, reflection, and accountability taken on the ends of all staffing agencies, and if this is how we get them all to be more accountable, then so be it.
