I recently had a phone screening with a recruiter regarding an operations position. While I appreciated her willingness to discuss my background and her offer to meet virtually to review my résumé and help identify opportunities that may be a good fit, I found the overall communication style during the screening to be unnecessarily blunt and, at times, discourteous. I completely understand the need for recruiters to ask direct questions and provide constructive feedback, and I genuinely value that perspective as someone who also interviews and hires people. However, I felt that some of the feedback was delivered in a way that came across as condescending, particularly given that this was my first interaction with the recruiter and we had no prior relationship. As someone who is potentially looking to transition into a new industry, I was hoping to feel encouraged and supported in understanding how my transferable skills could translate into other opportunities. Unfortunately, this interaction did not leave me feeling particularly confident about continuing to work with Beacon Hill or using the agency as a resource in my job search. I believe constructive feedback can be extremely valuable, but the delivery and overall candidate experience matter, especially when someone is navigating a career transition. read more

Had a great experience with Erica last fall. She really listened to my needs and found a few roles that met my expectations! She also didn't restrict the options to what I specifically asked for, but also included roles she thought I'd succeed at - really expanded my horizons! She even touched base with me a few times during her time off. I ended up at a company I can (for the first time) say I love and I appreciated Erica's partnership and advocacy every step of the way. She has also done a great job following up with me to make sure I'm happy with the role and offering her assistance if there was anything else I needed. Beacon Hill sounds like a great place to work - I heard coworkers cheering in the background once for a coworker who completed a milestone! They also have an annual gratitude week and Erica advocated for a charity where I volunteer, and won them a big donation!!! read more

So.....Beacon Hill Staffing.... I like that you were so diligent in determining whether I was a candidate or not after merely 30 minutes of me submitting my application....however I have my doubts as to why you would tell me you've moved on in the search, seeing as it was such a short amount of time, barely enough to give it any sort of consideration. I feel now since I know there might be a hint of bias in the decision that I start calling out staffing agencies like yourself for the discrimination that you instill in your staffing search ethics....email came from Danielle Griffis read more

Ghosting a candidate after going through multiple rounds of positive interviews is not ok. Additionally, the organization ended up scheduling the in person/2nd interview with me directly...no doubt due to how unreachable the recruiters were. The recruiters told me to be ready for a tentative time and date...when that time and date approached, not only did their communication drop, they became difficult to reach. It's been nearly 2 weeks since the final interview and my attempt to follow up last week could have been received in a nicer manner. I think the recruiter removed me from consideration because I'm interviewing at multiple places (and she doesn't want to risk possible loss of commission) so now she has dropped all communication. She went from complete post-interview enthusiasm to having a "who are you" vibe when I followed up 4 days later. Soooo apparently...l'm supposed to be exclusive with a potential role / company who treats me like I barely exist? In THIS job market? Riiiiiight... Please be for real... Very transactional feel. There doesn't seem to be interest at all in actually helping me gain employment (remember when agencies actually DID THAT??? I sure miss that.). read more

I am so happy I was able to connect with Beacon Hill. I applied for a role and immediately there was outreach from Ke'ala . From there she connected me with Hannah which provided me with more options. I received top notch support from Hannah and was so appreciative of her time and dedication to working together. Thank you Beacon Hill. You all turned a very transitional time into an exciting opportunity instead! read more

Ridiculous.. she contacts you for a job that you are qualified (even overqualified) says she's gonna submit your resume, then messages you again like she never talked to you the day before. Isabella has called me NUMEROUS times and tells me their holiday company party will donate to a fundraiser of my choice, I give the details, and she calls numerous times like I never spoke to her. I keep going along with it but it's so aggravatin. Shes clearly trying to meet a quota.. this company is TERRIBLE.. don't waste your time read more

Excellent recruiting group. My experience was very supportive. Jason and Ross at the Nashville location were detailed about what I had to offer a potential employer and represented me well. so I recently got a job through BHS and it was good my contact person was EMMA very sweet and helpful answers calls and emails loved that about her but after my first day I wasn't able to make it in due to childcare reason just for that day unfortunately and I informed her immediately and things seemed to be fine she called me the next day and said the position no longer wanted me because I wasn't able to make it in which is fine I understand that BUT emma completely ghosted me no answer to my phone calls or she would send me to voice mail she didn't respond to my emails very UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNPLEASANT it's sucks I would hope the whole company doesn't behave as such and I'm not one to leave reviews but sometimes things have to be said HOPEFULLY FUTURE PROSPECTS have a better experience than I did with the recruiter read more

Beacon Hill Staffing is hands down the best agency I've had the pleasure of working with. When I have been out of the workforce I have reached out to Alexis, and she has always had different opportunities to present. She's also been very responsive, supportive, and has made the process of finding a new job very smooth. I would highly recommend reaching out to them for any hiring needs. Whether you're looking for a new job or looking to scale your business, Beacon Hill is the way to go. read more

Elizabeth, Matt, and Kyle were instrumental in my placement at a very reputable investment firm in Boston. This wonderful team made me comfortable throughout the whole process, addressed all of my concerns, and adequetley prepared me for the interviews. I highly recommend the services of Beacon Hill Staffing to anyone exploring opportunities in various industries. Thank you for such a professional experience! -Ugo :) read more

Working with these people was absolutely abysmal. This will of course depend on who exactly your recruiter is, but you should really save yourself the time and connect directly with companies instead. Unless you're absolutely desperate, avoid this place like the plague. Never, throughout the whole process, did I believe that they were interested in what I wanted or helping me go somewhere I was interested. Instead, they were always just pushing me to try and quickly accept some offer that was put in front of me so that they would get their commission. I've worked with a lot of different recruiters and they were all much more personable and interested in trying to pair me with a company where everyone would be happy, but the motives here are so obviously transparent. They're also incredibly unprofessional to work with and they have no consideration for your time whatsoever. I had my recruiter call several times when we weren't even scheduled to talk, or fail to call during times that were scheduled. They don't even think you may be talking to a different recruiter or company, but are solely focused on trying to monopolize your time. This doesn't feel like recruiting, it's micromanagement. If you're an absolute masochist, put yourself through this process; otherwise, save yourself the pain of interacting with them. read more

Decent. But they used to be better. They placed me several times in the past decade for permanent roles, but I also feel that they started to get flaky. So strange how things just change out of the blue. The only thing that has changed about me is that now I am at the top of my field. Maybe these agencies just make more money placing mid-range salary people, and once you start to hit the top end, they don't bother working with you because they have fewer of those roles anyway? Not sure. Speculation. Not bad. Not good. Could be better. read more

Beacon Hill Staffing Group to my great fortune reached out to me via LinkedIn and paired me with my dream job!! I worked with recruiter Laura W who supported me every step of the way, prepped with me before every interview, managed my expectations throughout the process, and helped me land a great role when I was not even looking! She showed other career opportunities that better aligned better with my future career goals and helped me seek out and receive a wonderful job offer. Very thankful for Beacon Hill and Laura W. Extremely satisfied worth my overall experience with Beacon Hill. My recruiter and I have been working together since the beginning of 2020. She was very helpful and ensured she was familiar with my experience and background to provide me with some options. Throughout the process of interviewing, my recruiter, Melissa, made me feel calm and reassured my nerves. She motivated me and gave me very useful tips to help me rock interviews. Melissa, connected me to a company I would've overlooked otherwise and knew I'd be a great fit based on my experience. 3 interviews later and I was able to secure the job. read more

Yes they have been around a while, but there other great staffing agencies out there, don't bother with this one. Yes, they were nice in person, but nothing more. You have to fill out a bunch of archaic applications, and come downtown for an in person interview, prior to even getting actual job listings that they have available. They hype it up and tell you about all of the options they will curate and send to you, leaving feeling hopeful that you may have found a great gateway back into a job. Well, not so much... crickets. After multiple emails to both recruiters I heard nothing but silence, not even a "thanks for coming in." They don't have to get you a job, but professionalism and courtesy both ways should be expected. Don't bother. Instead look into: AP staffing, Adecco, Atrium, Winter Wyman or the Panther Group read more

Recruiter Naleseah is very responsive and got me a job smoothly! Made getting my first job very simple. Would recommend!

Can't recommend BHSG enough! Nancy was incredible - great communication and follow through. If you're looking for a staffing group-and I cannot stress this enough-LOOK NO FURTHER!! I have worked with several staffing companies in the past and I can say with full confidence that Beacon Hill has by FAR provided me with the most options as well as offers. I have already recommended them to friends who have been looking for work. Not only was the service provided absolutely stunning, but the customer support was professional, enthusiastic, and passionate about the work. My personal representative was excellent at keeping me up to date--when companies took a while to get back I didn't even have to reach out to inquire; I'd already have an email about it. My representative was on top of it and clearly enthusiastic about the work she does; talking with her on the phone was always a blast and very encouraging. She was in the full-time employment office. If you're looking for temp-to-perm or PT, you may have a different experience. I worked with one person in the part time office that I had a different experience with, so it really depends on who you work with. But if you're looking for FT, this is DEFINITELY the place you want to connect with! read more

I had a really good experience with BHSG in Boston: they recruited me off LinkedIn and I ended up taking and getting the first job I interviewed for, which has ended up being the best job I have ever had (perm role; I wasn't seeking temp work). I was genuinely surprised that I landed my perfect job from a recruiting firm...but I did. If you are looking to maximize your experience at BHSG-- or any other recruiter/staffing firm, here are my hot tips: -- Recognize that every staffing firm will have its own specialty. BHSG specializes in admin roles in downtown Boston. They place candidates of all experience levels, though they seem to have a ton of executive/admin assistant roles available. --Know that you may be asked to attend interviews on extremely short notice. This is kind of annoying, but it's the way the staffing agency world seems to work. This wasn't a big issue for me because I wasn't working while I sought employment, but know that it's within reason for you to turn down an interview if you have to. --Keep looking for jobs on your own and through other agencies, for sake of your own mental health more than anything. It feels good to have many irons in the fire at once. And remember, recruiters are BUSY people and work very actively with both candidates and employers (sounds to me like the job from hell), so don't take it personally if they don't follow up with you right away. It's totally okay to give your recruiter a little nudge if you haven't heard from them in a week or so. --Develop a good relationship with your recruiter. Be upfront about your expectations and desires. This person is your advocate the whole way through the application and interview process. If they like you, they're more likely to pitch you a little harder to potential employers. --Going after jobs through a recruiter is like dating-- don't get discouraged. They will send along relevant job descriptions to you, submit your resume to positions that you're interested in, and four out of five potential employers will pass on you just based on your resume. Hang in there! read more

Would love an option here to give "0" stars, as ZERO is what I got out of all the time and effort I put into registering with this agency and the emails, phone calls, etc. Today one of their recruiters from the Beacon Hill Technologies branch emailed me trying to get me in the door. Thank you! Thank you for reminding me to submit this review. From Nov 2011 to Nov 2012 these people were unresponsive. Don't bother with them- go to Hollister instead. read more

Not sure what happened, maybe they got overworked or something, but I went from having a really super experience with Beacon Hill with them placing me quickly last year to them only being able to find me a one week gig this summer, despite the fact that I was available all of July and half of August. With the latest placement I had been counting on it being 2 weeks but after asking the employer for 3 days straight who I was going to be covering the following week they let me me know that I was no longer needed. No one from my agency even bothered to let me know that it was my last day. It really just encapsulated what my experience with these folks has been this summer. Flaky with poor communication. I had to repeat what my availability was numerous times to the point it started feeling disrespectful. I mean, What the heck happened? They were otherwise on top of it before this summer, and then this colossal nosedive. It takes a lot for me to get to this point but I'm updating my review of them from 5 star to 3 Star, and its 3 stars rather than 2 based solely on the fact that they were great to me in the beginning. **update for my update. Was kvetching about my experience with a former colleague who provided a reference to BHSG for me. She told me that last year when they contacted her as my reference check they rang her at 5AM--in spite of the fact that I had told them all my references were on the West Coast. She said the person calling her thought SHE was applying for the position I was supposed to be placed with. This is bizarre and shows me that these folks are not at all who I thought. read more

I have worked with David at Beacon Hill Staffing for over 10 years and highly recommend working with him and the BH team. When looking for a job, they take the time to get to know you and what you are looking for. They do the hard part of vetting job descriptions and then passing along ones they feel could be a good fit for you and the firm. They prep you for interviews, help with thank you notes and negotiate the offer on your behalf. They communicate well and truly have your best interest in mind, because if you succeed, so do they, so its a win win. read more

I would not register with Beacon Hill. I worked with Madison. I registered with them in 2017 and was employed within a week. The company wanted to hire me after a little over a month. Madison told them what my salary requirements were without consulting me AFTER I told her what the last person in my position was getting paid. I was more qualified and she agreed to a reduced salary with the company. When I asked why she had undermined my salary, she responded "You put that's what you made at your last job" Later, it was discovered that Beacon Hill and the employer had what I perceived as an inappropriate relationship. SHE wanted commission so she agreed to a lower salary so Beacon Hill could receive $10,000 in commission. They never disclosed they had staffed 8 people in the same position under 2 years. When I asked about diversity I was given the run around. Out of more than 1000 employees, only 3 were Black Americans although Beacon Hill staffed more than 150 temporary Black Americans from their DC office to this organization I left the organization and went back to Beacon Hill, and apparently, the former organization was asking questions regarding whether I was seeking work through Beacon Hill. This was disclosed by Maja Bijelic. Maja never followed up was unresponsive and that was over a year ago. I received a telephone call nearly two years later from Julie Naughton as an "introduction". She wanted my resume after I sued the former organization. She was practically begging for my resume for a "position". When I wrote to her and told her I was not interested, she called and I was very intentional on my salary requirements and the ideal role where I would a viable candidate. SHE sounded desperate to have my resume. I reluctantly sent her my resume. This was in November 2019. Since then, she has become ghost. She has not responded to the numerous emails or telephone calls. I applied for a position and the organization informed me that the resume I submitted was nearly identical to a candidate's resume that was sent to them from Beacon Hill, ironically between November and December. read more

Unorganized, unprofessional and obviously don't know what they are doing. I was introduced to Brittany Cain for BHSG and she was located in Illinois while I am living in Georgia. At first, she was sweet, professional and represented me well. However, later on she wanted me to do outlandish tasks for paperwork that should of been taken care of in the beginning. She instructed me to go on my first job and was WRONG about my start time and date. There was A LOT of miscommunication between her and the company representative. Overall, this experience has turned me OFF to temp agencies and I will never want to work with this company again. Word of advice: train you people and LISTEN to your clients that you represent. I asked for a TEMP TO PERMANENT position when she mislead me as strictly a TEMP position. read more

The recruiters I had the disadvantage of working with were both unprofessional and unresponsive. There wasn't any communication following our initial interview, nor was there any when I followed up. Be careful of this company. They swipe resumes off of legit job search boards and then they call you to sell their awful services. I've waited to write this review for years because I'm nice but this is the WORST experience I've ever had with a company. I came in with an undergraduate degree looking for a front desk position. My recruiter set me up with a "two day interview" at a tech company, Log Me In., where I was told I would be trying out the new position and I would have an interview at the end. I came in the first day in business attire and the office manager showed me to the cleaning closet where I WAS THE CLEANING LADY FOR THE DAY. I didn't give up hope though and came in the next day (in business attire) to CLEAN AGAIN. At the end of the day I explained to the office manager my situation and that I was promised an interview by Beacon and she said THEY HAD ALREADY HIRED SOMEONE. This was years ago and I now have my graduate degree working in the professional world I still tell the story to this day. read more

If you are looking for a job, Clara Emlen is the girl to call. While her tenure is not as experienced, her quality of care for the people she is placing is unmatched. I came to Clara unsure if I was ready to make to the city of Boston, just yet. She counciled me on why I had reached out in the first place, what I liked and disliked about my current job and made me excited for the world of new opportunities ahead. Within a day of me sending her my references and resume she hit the ground running. She would send me any job she thought I was qualified for and then tailored the search to better suit an exact match. The next week I had three interviews and ended up getting an offer I could not refuse from one. Even after the offer was accepted she helped me brain storm ideas on how to have the smoothest move and ideas on what part of the city to live in to have an easy commute.
