Horrible staff! I came in for my allergy shot appointment in the morning at the Aiea location and I…read morethought they checked me in. However, all these other patients came and went, but I was never called. About 1.5 hrs later, I still wasn't called. This should've been a quick shot and then I would be out the door in a few mins. Then again, this wasn't the first time this has happened. The last time this happened, I had asked the staff how much longer I had to wait after waiting for an hour, but found out they had forgotten about me and proceeded to get me with my doctor asap, only to be lectured to be understanding since Saturdays are busy and to not book on Saturdays. So, I tried to hold on a bit longer this time, but after almost 2 hrs I was reaching my breaking point. Finally, the person who supposedly checked me in noticed me and asked if I was still waiting. I was super shocked at this point. When I told them how long I was waiting for, their faces said it all. They had once again forgotten about me. Then proceeded to get me with the doctor for my shot. I also understand the doctor can be very curt but I was already feeling put off by their staff earlier and it didn't help with my mood. I didn't get any sincere apology at all from them either; Just a quick "oh sorry" sort of apology. Not even after I was done with my allergy shot. Ultimately, I decided I was done. I didn't want to get brushed off by them anymore on top of getting shots that aren't improving my allergies at all. I can't say who the staff member was, because I want to be careful not to make this about race or identity. Sooooo, if you folks are still going here, make sure you check they actually checked you in. They should also be "understanding" about your time too. Otherwise, what's the point of appointments.

Dr. Kuo was super informative and has a great sense of humor. The staff was friendly and getting…read moreallergy shots was quick and easy. I would recommend going there.

Before making my appointment I saw there were quite a few negative reviews so I thought I'd share…read moremy positive experience. I don't know about everyone else but after seeing my PCP and dermatologist already, Dr. Sreedharan was the first provider I felt actually listened to me and took the time to figure out what was going on and then thoroughly explained to me, in a way that I could understand, what has happening in my own body. Even called to follow up and few hours later.

My 3 year old has been suffering from a *constant* cough from September 2021. Her pediatrician said…read moreshe must have post-nasal drip cough caused by allergies. With the fear of covid all around, all the reasons why you would see your PCP are, now, all the reasons why you are not allowed into the office... cough, included and perhaps- especially. So, after about 10 telehealth visits and instructions to give zyrtec daily and vacuum (I do that 5 times a day regardless) and air out mattresses and zero improvement - I was desperate and searched for a local allergy specialist online. Aloha Allergy and Immunology came up and were, thankfully, still taking new patients! We have HMSA PPO federal plan so we didn't need a referral to make an appointment. I understand that covid can be scary if you haven't had it, but it was truly heartbreaking to watch my poor toddler have coughing fits throughout the day and even wake her from sleep and her pediatrician was unwilling to see her in office because of her chronic cough. But on our first appointment, Dr. Lucuab-Fegurgur and staff were so compassionate and understanding to my daughter's situation. They expressed genuine concern for her well-being and didn't treat her like a walking disease. We discovered that her coughing was due to post-nasal drip and she has allergic rhinitis which is like an allergy- induced asthma. They did a scratch test to see what amongst the common irritants, were possibly affecting her. Come to find out, she's extremely allergic to dust mites and cockroach. Two things I cannot avoid in island... like- hardly at all. However, we know now how best we can help her. I have a lot of laundry and need to set up traps regularly in the car and at home. No stuffed animals or rugs- etc. She's on montelukast, Flonase, zyrtec and (when needed) albuterol. As long as she is propped up, she does not usually have a problem sleeping without anything. Anyway, Dr. L is an answer to prayer! She is WONDERFUL. She is kind and attentive and has helped my daughter be able to return to normal activities like school and play dates without getting dirty looks from those unaware that allergic coughs are a thing and not contagious... if you or someone you know needs an allergy specialist, Aloha Allergy and Immunology is your bet! Thank you, Dr. L and staff! My daughter can breathe ;)

This Review is WAY OVERDUE! On Feb. 2nd, my son was admitted…read morefrom the ER to the 5th floor. There he received excellent treatment! His nurse, Matt, was absolutely great! He was responsive and very caring. My son felt safe with him. The night nurse, Cliff, was also very good too! Case managers, Beth and Tainika, kept our family up-to-date with our son's status. My son still has a slight yellow tinge to his skin, but he is stable and getting stronger thanks to the great care provided by the wonderful Pali Momi staff of doctors and nurses! Mahalo!

It's very difficult to rate Pali Momi because I feel that overall, their ER services and lab are…read morethe BEST on all of Oahu and the best hospital out of most of the hospitals I've been to in the mainland while my spouse was in the military. I would love them just because of their ER. If I were to move to Kahala, Kailua or Waianae, I would still drive to their ER in the dead of night over any other ER (if I could). I have never in my life described an ER visit as a service, but when I go to Pali Momi, it feels like a service. Like GREAT service for the money you're paying. I'm being catered to even when I have to wait a little for the Dr, the ER STAFF just feels like an ELEVATED level of care and not unprofessional or ratchet like other ER staff from other hospitals I've been to. The wait time here is always the shortest of any other ER we have gone to for other people. You won't catch the staff talking loudly or badly about a patient (had that happen at Castle ER). This ER will have have short, low murmured, light interactions and even when they're updating the next crew on patients before leaving - they are actually very discreet. With their ER, the staff station is just a comfortable or soothing buzz in the background and not like other ERs where people are talking loudly, yelling or laughing over each other while someone's in excruciating pain just a few feet away. I love how their ER has grown and how Pali Momi has UTILIZED their space on the first floor to make more rooms for the ER so that patients are not waiting long outside. That alone also adds to you feeling like they make efforts and give a damn about the service they provide. Whether you end up in one of the makeshift rooms at the back, I feel like they know how patients feel - once I'm inside - mentally I already feel a little better because I'm one step closer to being seen. The next step is waiting outside to be called and then when you're called they take you in to your room or space. You wait for the Dr., see the Dr, they do what needs to be done, then you either wait to be transferred to a room upstairs or wait for your papers and the nurse or doctor to speak about what you need to do once home or when you get your meds. This ER will CALL YOU shortly after your visit to FOLLOW UP on how you're doing. This is great! Anyway, let's talk about the service of their upstairs staff if you have to stay in the hospital. 1- This hospital is a lot cleaner compared to other hospitals, Queens in town and Straub on King st, but it could still be better. My mom had to stop a maid because she used the SAME flannel that she wiped the room with to wipe the bathroom and SINK!! The sink that nurses put the bottles on for the patient's water flushes for their feeding line or that patients themselves use. And if someone is in the room, they won't come all the way in to mop. I know they probably are just trying not to intrude but pls come in anyway to make sure the room is clean. If someone says they don't want it, fine but some people will appreciate it being cleaned thoroughly even if they're there. 2. The staffs upstairs are mostly great. You do have some very good nurses here, but I've encountered the same male nurse who walked in twice and almost use the SAME gloves he's had from visiting other patients. This is unacceptable as that's how OUTBREAKS happen. Your hospital has an awesome reputation, but that small carelessness from one person can ruin that. 3. Please please for the love of god, change or get a refund from the contractor that provides the sheets. I've been there a few times recently again and each time, the bed sheets do NOT FIT the beds! Please get bigger sheets that won't shrink in the dryer. I feel so bad for the CNAs and nurses when I help change my loved one's bed sheets and it doesn't even fit. To the point where the patient becomes uncomfortable due to the sheet bending the mattress inwards. I hope if we have another stay, that all the too small sheets have been replaced. 4. Keep up the great work. Your lab is very good at drawing blood and putting in IV lines for hard cases. We appreciate that so much. 5. Your insurance ladies are so polite when coming to ask for that and getting it done so we don't have to worry about it. I like that they will come to the patient to complete their paperwork or return their things so the patient doesn't have to come to them if they're unable to. 6. Shout out to your cafeteria. The staff in there is so efficient and kind. The place is clean and comfortable with plenty of seating.
