Horrible staff! I came in for my allergy shot appointment in the morning at the Aiea location and I…read morethought they checked me in. However, all these other patients came and went, but I was never called. About 1.5 hrs later, I still wasn't called. This should've been a quick shot and then I would be out the door in a few mins. Then again, this wasn't the first time this has happened. The last time this happened, I had asked the staff how much longer I had to wait after waiting for an hour, but found out they had forgotten about me and proceeded to get me with my doctor asap, only to be lectured to be understanding since Saturdays are busy and to not book on Saturdays. So, I tried to hold on a bit longer this time, but after almost 2 hrs I was reaching my breaking point. Finally, the person who supposedly checked me in noticed me and asked if I was still waiting. I was super shocked at this point. When I told them how long I was waiting for, their faces said it all. They had once again forgotten about me. Then proceeded to get me with the doctor for my shot. I also understand the doctor can be very curt but I was already feeling put off by their staff earlier and it didn't help with my mood. I didn't get any sincere apology at all from them either; Just a quick "oh sorry" sort of apology. Not even after I was done with my allergy shot. Ultimately, I decided I was done. I didn't want to get brushed off by them anymore on top of getting shots that aren't improving my allergies at all. I can't say who the staff member was, because I want to be careful not to make this about race or identity. Sooooo, if you folks are still going here, make sure you check they actually checked you in. They should also be "understanding" about your time too. Otherwise, what's the point of appointments.

Dr. Kuo was super informative and has a great sense of humor. The staff was friendly and getting…read moreallergy shots was quick and easy. I would recommend going there.

Five stars. Dr.Kam was recommended to me by several people…read moreand for good reason. Fantastic physician. Approachable, pleasant, friendly and is upbeat: qualities that are important to me. More importantly, an effective physician. I made my first visit to Dr.Kam and the appointment went very smoothly. Checked in a bit early to fill out the intake sheet and register. The front receptionist was nice. The nurses were all friendly and approachable. They checked up on me often and assured me all would be well. Timer set for 20 minutes after my small injections on both forearms (not bad, feels like Brittany's suggestion---feels like a toothpick prick.). As soon as the timer goes off the process was quick...a wipedown, spray and a Claritin later, I was in Dr.Kam's office discussing my results, my symptoms, the solutions and finally went over a 30 day plan. Dr.Kam asks me which pharmacy I would like to pick up...I had a quick bite and went to the pharmacy and my prescription was ready. Credit to both Don Quixote pharmacy and Dr.Kam. I'm glad I went to meet up with this specialist....I'm sure that I'll continue with this doctor for many years to come.

I saw several allergists at Queen's, but none were able to provide real answers. Dr. Kam was the first doctor who truly took action. On my very first visit, he personally arranged for me to see a pulmonologist that same morning, without a prior appointment. That level of care and advocacy is rare. Because of Dr. Kam, my asthma is now well controlled, and my quality of life has completely changed. He is knowledgeable, compassionate, and genuinely invested in his patients. I have nothing but respect and gratitude for him. I highly recommend Dr. Kam to anyone dealing with asthma or allergies.

OK, I'm used to the V.A., where most there hate their jobs, you wait many MONTHS to be seen, and…read moreget pretty poor treatment from pretty poor docs, with the exception of eyes and dental. I was MISdiagnosed there 2 YEARS when I had lymphoma UNDER shrapnel from an Iraq War wound. I was told, "You are getting OLD, and it's an old war wound..." DISSED for 2 YEARS??%$#@! finally, I went outside w/Medicare, got a proper diagnosis, (CANCER in that bone under the 'old war wound'), and referred for treatment-- finally the V.A. got involved because I threatened to go to the press if they didn't take over. The docs at St. Francis radiation center were GREAT. But nothing worked as it's a rare cancer and it didn't respond to radiation, and kept coming back. Finally, with MY research (I'm a retired surgeon) I found a treatment that may work for me and they referred me on after my oncologist AGREED. MAHALO PRES. TRUMP for 'Care in The Community', as we can now go to outside docs if we live far away--and they took me seriously, I got treatment the V.A. doesn't have anyway--and they listened to me, treating me with respect as a fellow doc. PALI MOMI WAS THE LATEST DOC TO SEE FOR BONE SURGERY--a big surgery, a VERY long 18 month recovery=MAJOR. I saw Dr. Aratani, who is highly specialized in ortho and oncology--one of only 2 on island. The only other is my friend @ Tripler but he was deployed so unavailable and he got me in to see Dr. Aratani. She was enthusiastic about my research, said YES--and referred me on to Queens for one treatment before she operates...but PALI MOMI WAS A BREATH OF FRESH AIR. I was pretty lost there as I never go to Aiea, living in Kahalu'u, and it's grown so much all my old landmarks are GONE--but after finally finding it, employees directed me every step of the way as to where to go, what building/floor/etc. OMG! That NEVER happens @ the V.A. I was totally--no lie--slack jawed by the time I got to her office! EVERYONE was so FRIENDLY--and not put on--I mean genuinely friendly, helpful...as my leg HURTS and walking HURTS...so so many folks there offered to help..I am BLOWN AWAY. It is BY FAR, the BEST medical facility I have EVER been in--and after getting wounded, I've had 15 surgeries, multiple scars/shrapnel/debility...etc. I just am very impressed=PERIOD. Much aloha to all you guys!!! Your assist and help was SO appreciated! I've been really down about all this, the time I lost getting treated and where it's at now--needing major surgery, possibly crippled for life...yadayada. But you guys there really cheered me up. MAHALO!!! Sorry so long, but I just feel VERY strongly here!

***4.5 STARS***…read more Recently a colleague reached out to me as his designated driver was unable to pick him up due to an unforeseen situation. He texted me needing a lift from Pali Momi Medical Center (PMMC) to his home just off Kinau Street. PMMC opened its doors in July 1989 and has been servicing Central and West Oahu. It was originally opened as Kapiolani Medical Center at Pali Momi until rebranded as PMMC in 2010. They are conveniently located in Aiea just down the road from Pearlridge Shopping Center. It was my first time here and was impressed with the upkeep of the grounds. Because my friend just had a procedure to the day prior, a hospital staff wheeled him via wheelchair to the pickup/drop off area. I was amazed by the hospital's attention to patient's condition, consideration and service extended. Although the pickup was a fairly quick process, the setback I encountered was leaving. There were 2 parked cars in front of me and it didn't seem the cars would be leaving soon. Furthermore, the right hand lane was too narrow where I couldn't pass them. My only option was to back up and exit via the far left lane. Thank goodness there was no car behind me otherwise I would have been in a standstill. Overall, impressed with my first visit to PMMC, with the exception of their pickup and drop off area. 2026 #60
