My neighbor recommended John when it came time to repaint my house so I got a quote to compare against others. John wasn't the cheapest but the paint work on my neighbor's house looked pretty good even after a few years so I decided to give John a try. The results were night and day compared to the previous painter I hired - surfaces were properly prepped and touch-ups were no issue during the warranty period. After the warranty expired, John was generous enough to still offer touch ups and only charged me bare minimum labor for 1 worker (I provide the paint). The worker didn't cut any corners as he sanded and prepped all surfaces and now the house looks brand new again. Can't thank John enough for his kind offer. read more

My parents used John Keith and his team to paint their house a year ago, and when we needed to repair stucco and paint the exterior of our house/garage, John stopped by at the perfect time just to check in. After getting a quote, and making a partial payment, they started work right away and finished very quickly. It was also in the summer and during a heat wave, so the fact they did so much in a few days was impressive. We are very happy with the result and would use John again in the future if we ever need to another paint job. read more

After dealing with asbestos abatement on our popcorn ceilings we decided we wanted a professional to paint our walls and ceilings and I couldn't be any happier with how well John took care with painting the interior of our house. He explained and provided updates each step of the way and explained each process thoroughly. We also needed to skim coat our ceilings after the popcorn ceiling scraping and he made a stressful situation be an easier pill to swallow with exceptional value to our pricing. For anyone looking to have interior painting done or needing skim coating I cannot recommend John and team enough. read more

Recently we had the pleasure of hiring John Keith Painting to give our home a new look. From our first interaction with John we could see that we were in good hands. John obviously knows his craft and is able to convey what your options are without any sort of pressure or upselling. He came out, gave us a competitive bid and walked through the entire process. His family has been in the painting business for several generations and it definitely shows. As for our work, he was able to give us a all inclusive contract that included some repairs we needed as well as some extra items we had on our wish list. The payment system was absolutely reasonable and assured us that we didn't have to worry about someone taking all our money and then not showing up. His team showed up on time, performed the work skillfully and respectful of our property. John was there throughout the day everyday to ensure everything was being done to his standards as well as our preferences. We received daily updates as to progress and where we were in the process. We were very impressed with the team as they worked very hard each day in less than ideal weather conditions. The last day we were given a chance to do a walk around the property and have any touchups performed prior to them leaving. With that being said, they are super diligent at checking over their work but as John put it, "as many eyes as possible" is better for a great result. We can whole heartedly recommend the team at John Keith Painting for your paint projects! read more

We got the number for John Keith Painting from our neighbor who recently had the exterior of her house painted. She had only good things to say about the company so we gave him a call. And, as she said, he is very communicative, answers calls, replies to texts, and doesn't leave you hanging. We needed the interior of our ADU painted, as well as the exterior balcony and steps. The job was supposed to take 3 days. The crew came in, did an excellent job of prepping, painting, and cleaning up and finished up in 2 days. We had gotten other quotes, and the price was very reasonable for the quality provided. We highly recommend John Keith Painting. read more

First of all, John spent time walking and explaining what he would be doing at each stage of the job, from power washing, sanding replacing rotted wood , base coat and the type of paint needed for the heat of the Valley, he was so knowledgeable and such a great guy, he was checking everyday on the progress and his main guy Mike was on top of everything ! Everything was put back and clean when they were done and it was done within 5 days !!!! He even suggested painting my door a different color and I LOVE IT !!!! My house is 50 years old but it looks brand new !!! Now I want him to do the inside !!!!!!!!!!! read more

John Keith Painting just finished a complete repaint on our house (Feb 2025) and they were fantastic. All of the pricing was agreed to completely upfront. There were no additional or surprise charges (that we didn't ask for). The work was top notch and John is extremely professional. John made sure to stop by each day to check on the progress and quality of the work. We really didn't have to point out any oversights as he got to them before we could. Before painting they completely repaired all of the stucco (and it needed a lot of repair). We even had them paint our backyard gazebo while they were there and it came out amazing. I have no reservations in recommending them. read more

John and his employees are a pleasure to have. We hired John to paint our home and his price was very competitive. We decided on the spot to paint our house. Once the house was complete, his crew came by and did touch ups as we requested for minor spots. We liked his work so much, we hired him again to add gutters to our home. They turned out just as good. We will definitely hire him for any other services we need. He is highly recommended! read more

I can't give a review, because Mr Keith came to my house, a very polite and good manner, but he wants 10% of the estimate at the time we sign the contract. He wrote the contract on the spot, the estimate were reasonable and I signed, I pressed for a date to start a job, maybe about 10 days later, no confirmation of the date. When he left I notice that the contract doesn't a physical address, ask for a business card and no business card. I had doubt for this business and immediate call him and cancel, I felt unsecured about this business.... Maybe I'm wrong, but had been scam before. read more

I received five estimates from various painting companies and one of the reasons I selected John Keith is his responsiveness to my questions and his thoroughness in explaining what he can and cannot do. From our initial meeting I sensed he is trust-worthy and was very honest about his work. He even suggested a better paint color choice and I am glad i took his advice. His price was reasonable and the crew (2-3 people) arrived on time. John Keith Jr. checks in on the project daily to ensure I was satisfied up to that point, which was a surprise as I didn't expect the owner would come by every day to check in. The crew was very professional. Tip: don't be shy to check their work often and speak up about what they might have missed. The crew was very nice and would fix whatever needed. This include clean up as well. Overall, we are very happy with the work they did. The house was in need of a refresh and John Keith Painting made it happen. read more

I debated whether to write this review because it's not 5 stars, but was told that I should. The good: John and his brother Christian are pleasant to work with and came out the same day to provide me with a quote. I was a bit nervous at first because they requested more than half payment up front before any work had even begun. But John assured me that his license was too important to him to risk, so I paid it. Neither of them performed the painting, though. They have two workers for that - an older man and a younger one. The good: the house is painted. However, the painters decimated my garden during the power washing of the house and, despite removing my rain chain and placing it near the fence, away from the porch, they broke that, as well, so I had to throw it away. I later discovered that they also broke and threw away my string lights while moving my pergola (they were attached to the pergola and the house). The workers left a ton of debris and trash in the front and backyards. In the back I found barbecue sauce packets, fast food trash, paint supplies, and metal shavings in the front that I am glad I picked up before my dog discovered it. And because I instructed them not to paint my front covered porch, because it really didn't need it, NOW it does need painting because they got white paint all over it when they were painting the posts. The porch is slate blue. Oh, and when I initially signed the contract I was told that they would address the dry rot in one of the wooden posts supporting the roof/porch (this is why I went with them over others) and they did not fix the post as agreed upon. They just wrapped the bottoms of each post with a small piece of sheet metal and painted it white to match. There is still dry rot underneath, which could have been fixed with wood hardener if we weren't going to replace the post. I was told by Christian that they would replace the post. Then he told me that they would remove/scrape out all of the dry rotted wood and fill it in before painting it, and that didn't happen, either. So while I am glad that my house is painted and it looks nice (not stellar, I've since found dripping dried paint all around it. Also, my dryer vent was white out of the box. They painted it blue like the rest of the house. Then painted over THAT and painted it white again, which seemed ridiculous to me), I am not happy about my destroyed garden, my rain chain, the garbage left behind, and now having to paint my porch myself because they got paint all over it. I am giving 3 stars because at least the house is painted and looks better than before, when it had peeling paint. read more

John Keith Jr and Christian were attentive, supportive and understanding through the entire process of giving my little house a makeover. Our home was in very bad need of a total exterior overhaul . We have a wood trim and stucco home that was painted several years ago and the color scheme was badly outdated and faded . After reading several reviews and following up on references we contacted John Keith Painting . After several estimates (At least 5 ) we decided to hire John and his team . Best decision we could have made ! First we were surprised when John Keith himself arrived to give us our free evaluation and estimate . Very rare these days to have the owner of the company actually do the estimates . Next he was very clear and precise while explaining the project and all that it would require . After we hired him he was very attentive and punctual in all stages of our very complicated repaint .All of his team members were clean , polite , punctual , and professional. Any questions we had were promptly answered with very easy explanation. John Keith (The Owner ) was meticulous in helping us create an amazing new modern color scheme that complemented our new roof , landscaping , and new brick paver driveway. He used only the best quality materials on our home . Overall I would not hire anyone else for my painting projects and would recommend his company to all my friends and family . So if you are looking for a high quality job at a fair cost this is your guy . read more

If you are seeking quality workmanship, attention to detail, professionalism, and outstanding customer service, you may want to look elsewhere. I know this is a long post, but you may want to read on if your hard earned money matters to you. . . I did not have a good experience with this company. When they painted my home they were done within a couple days. I had to call them back to paint the areas that they missed. My concrete driveway was stained from the spilled paint that was never cleaned up. The cracks in the stucco that they repaired did not blend in at all. They used a rubbery caulk to repair larger pieces of broken stucco instead of a cement based stucco. There was masking tape residue left along the edges of my patio. I brought this up and they came back and did address those issues. About two months later the paint on my metal garage doors began to peel, bubble, and crack. I contacted two different Sherwin Williams paint retailers and was told that they used the wrong kind of paint for the garage doors. When I called John Keith Painting and explained what I found out, he referred me to his brother James. James told me that they could not strip off the paint that they already put on. He said that his workers would power wash any peeling paint from the surface of the doors and would repaint using the paint recommended by Sherwin Williams. I expressed my concern that the first layer of paint they applied would continue to peel if not completely stripped. James insisted that applying the new paint over the first layer would address this. Two of his workers came and power washed the doors and removed limited and random portions of the first layer of peeling paint. They then painted over both doors (and the first layer of paint) leaving behind unsightly craters from where the paint was randomly removed. By the very next day the edges of the first paint job were already continuing to peel and taking the second layer of paint with it. This has worsened over time. I peeled back some of the paint bubbles and took photos and sent them to James. I explained that the first layer of paint they failed to remove was continuing to peel again. Over the next several months I attempted to get James to strip the doors and do the job correctly. He has continually refused. He has done nothing other than come up with what I believe are unreasonable excuses why he can't fix it. He has even blamed me for the peeling paint. I come from a background in construction and recognized these excuses as being without merit. Examples of his text messages to me have been: "I have no way of stripping a metal garage door. That is impossible." "Is someone plucking at it (the paint)? Paint just does not fall off normally." "I can't come back and strip your door to bare metal." "I can't keep repainting a door that someone keeps peeling the paint off. Paint doesn't fall off garage doors." "There is touch up paint there to touch up the spot you peeled off." (in other words, fix it myself) "I have painted it twice, that's all I'm required to do and used the paint you wanted me to use in the color you wanted me to use. And I told you to use the body color that wouldn't attract the heat." (James attempted to blame my choice of a dark color as the cause of the peeling paint). Ultimately I told James that I would seek compensation through arbitration to have my doors fixed. James asked how much money I wanted to resolve this. I got an estimate from an experienced licensed contractor who had the opinion that the surface was never prepared properly, that the wrong kind of paint was used, and the only proper solution is to strip the doors in order to remove the first layer of paint that John Keith applied. This painter provided me an estimate of over $1,400 to strip, prime, and repaint the doors with the proper paint. I attempted to get other quotes, but most other painters did not want to fix someone else's work. I told James that I would accept $1,200 to resolve the issue. I figured I could perhaps find someone to do the job for a little bit less than $1,400. His reply was, "HaHa. A new garage door is $600. I'll give you $300 to do whatever you want . . . and $300 is my absolute maximum offer." Consequently, I have been forced to file a complaint with the Contractors State Licensing Board to seek a remedy. I would not recommend this company. I can accept the fact that contractors make mistakes and that sometimes a job does not have the intended results. What I cannot accept is their refusal to accept responsibility for the unsightly and substandard paint job that was done on the garage doors. I am a reasonable person and gave James every opportunity to make this right. It is with regret that I had to take the time to write this review for the benefit of those who are considering this company to paint their home. read more

I think you can only really judge a business when things don't go well. It lets you figure out what a company really stands for. So these guys stopped by my house in April 2015 as they were doing work in the neighborhood. We asked them for an estimate for the exterior, and they were priced lower than any other estimates we had gotten. The owner ( john) and his sons came by personally and walked us through the process. We agreed on a price, and a few days later, as promised, their team came and got started. The crew that did the painting was polite and worked really fast. Fast forward to a year later, and we notice a spot where the paint is peeling. I called the owner and left him a message telling them what was going on. I honestly didn't expect anything, but I figured it was worth a shot. He returned my call the next day. He told me that he would come look at it, and that he would make it right. The next day his son John Jr came. He saw the spot, told me that it looked like the primer hadn't dried enough before it was painted over, and apologized for it. I also told him about a spot that was missed, because a year ago there had been a shed which blocked access to an exterior wall. He said no problem he would fix the part that was peeling, AND on their own dime, would buy paint to do the part of the wall that was now exposed and unpainted. Within an hour it was all done. Such nice guys, they stick by their work and make themselves available if you need them. Highly recommend them! read more

Come time to start the job the brothers sent two laborers speaking very little english It was very difficult to communicate with them The brothers only showed up to collect the money We addressed some problems with the paint job and they assured us it would be taken care of It wasn't Not only is the paint job horrible and will have to be redone but The damage to landscape, outside furniture and hardscape is in the thousands Buyer beware! read more

I absolutely love these guys! I called them to come over for an estimate and we set up a time for us to meet. When they arrived they we walked around my home and I showed them what I wanted done. John gave me a price that seemed fair and I had them do the job. They started the job by pressure washing first, after that the prep!!! It looked like hard work. They sanded the wood down and got most of the old paint off, then they filled the cracks in my wood and primed and painted with 2 coats! With my stucco the cracks was terrible, using an actual stucco patch, they filled the cracks to where you can't notice scars. When they finished there was some touch ups , I showed them and they touched them up immediately. I am so satisfied, because I hadn't had much success with painters before. If you where looking to have any Home improvement or house painting done, John Keith is thee only person I would call!!!! read more
