Oh boy, what a night. A place can only be as good as its people and such is the case of John Clark Stadium.
Let me start out by saying John Clark Stadium is really more of a sports complex than it is just a stadium. There are a few fields (football and baseball) The complex is owned and operated by the Plano Independent School District and like I said, they could do much better than the attitudes presented by the people who work here. I have never been treated or talked to so rudely as me, my wife, and my 90 year old mother were when we came here for the Richardson Eagles/Plano Wildcats game. Without going publicly into details, let's just say we were all taken aback by how we were spoken to and by how some of the students who were trying to attend the game were spoken to as well. Even my mom, who usually rolls with the punches, made a comment about their attitudes indicating perhaps they needed a new job that they were happier with.
A couple of suggestions for PISD in case anyone reads this that is in a position to help your district impove:
1) When you have more than one event taking place in more than one of the fields at the complex, clearly mark what events are taking place on what field. Do it in the parking area so you can actually park closest to the event you are trying to attend.
2) Remind the security personnel you have hired that they are a reflection of the PISD and the Plano community at large, and that treated people badly or disrespectfully is not a good look.
3) Perhaps do what other districts do and hire police officers from the community to work the front gate security. They tend to have a calmer and more professional demeanor (game security is far from the worst thing they encounter, so they bring a calming presence to the game rather than high strung, unprofessional security guards. read more
