We wanted to try Cinemark so took their monthly subscription for now to see if we like it... Theater was well maintained & clean. Service was little bit on the slower side ... we took Popcorn without butter & Coke it was ok. AMC popcorn is much better & fresher ( crunchy) . We enjoyed the theater as it was not crowded so felt like private screening for us. Auditorium was clean no sticky floors so felt good enjoyed our theater experience. Only downside we felt was they had not switched on the A/C maybe of less crowds that is my guess.... Restroom was well maintained & clean. Ample parking place. Over all it was good , don't know during evenings or weekends how well it is maintained need to experience that to comment on it... Still not sure if I can commit to their yearly membership which is higher than AMC... read more

Well the second time around the charm did work but only after some drama! We had 2 tickets and this time when we reached the theatre they tell we have no tickets as tickets have been refunded. But my credit card has been charged No one here can answer and they keep running around asking each other, with no solution! Finally the asst manager Jeremiah was able to adjust the tickets so that we could watch the film. Don't how much of pre show drama and uncertainty can I take ? I've been coming to this theater for years, even before COVID, and I keep forgetting to leave a review. Overall it's a good spot for movies. Food The hotdogs and pizza are good when freshly made. Sometimes we have to wait a bit for the pizza, but it's worth it because it's fresh. Popcorn is good as long as it hasn't been sitting out too long. Staff Most of the staff are great. A few get distracted by their phones and don't notice customers until you're right in front of them. Luckily, there are also staff members who greet you warmly as you walk up. Theater & Cleanliness Some theater rooms are cleaned really well, but others can be disappointing with grimy tables, popcorn on the floor, and leftover mess on seats. It's not cool having to clean your own seat. Restrooms The restrooms have always been the worst part of visiting. It's gotten so bad that my 10-year-old asked why the toilet was dirty. I've learned to carry a small bottle of sanitizer just in case. Overall Good movie experience, decent food, and mostly friendly staff. Some cleaning issues prevent it from being perfect, but we still keep coming back. read more

I bought their membership which is nice as you can do everything from the app. I've been over 10 times to this theatre and never had issues. Yes, if you go when it's busy it may take time to get your food. It's not their fault you showed up late. The lines move fast and the staff has always been great. Yesterday night I received a bad service from the bartender at the front, she was rude and had a horrible attitude. I was planning to buy a margarita and had my ID ready to show (I'm 40). Yet was still denied because my ID was not an American ID. I'm a tourist btw and I have never had this trouble before. Isn't the purpose of an ID to show you're a legal age to buy alcohol? This brand new Cinemark in North McKinney is a great addition to the neighborhood. I often visit this area since my sister lives there so last Friday we decided to go watch the long anticipated "Aladdin" at this theater. We purchased our tickets online ahead of time which made it convenient/easy. I love that Cinemark has reserved seating, comfy/heated lounge seats and keep their theater clean. This location is much smaller than my regular go to at Legacy Cinemark however they were showing a variety of genres in films. The layout of the theater is different from what I'm used to. I personally, found it a bit confusing and impractical to have people scavenge through the concessions area to locate their theater room lol! The popcorn wasn't the best either according to my little niece and I agree haha. Excuse me for having a preference but I do still think Cinemark theaters are the best especially their XD experience. Didn't have any concessions so I couldn't rate it a 5. The comfort of the chairs which are also heated was amazing. Our movie was running late but after exiting the showing we were all given a guest pass for a free movie next time. The women's restroom was fully stocked and very clean. read more

We noticed this one opened up a few months back, but never seemed to be able to put together a visit, until now. Saw Knives Out....interesting movie, I recommend seeing. On the theater experience...that was 5 star. Love the seats, the power recline is a bit short of flat...but you are trying to watch a movie and if it went full flat, you might fall asleep...especially with the heated seats. Better than my Lexus for sure! Why 4 stars? Who designed the concessions area? They need to find a new gig. So confusing and it wasn't busy...but the 15-20 people in there clogged it up so badly, along with not good signage. The 1-7 theatres are on the left, 8-13 are on the right. Staff there didn't seem to help the confusion though...which is weird, cause they had to see it. Anyways, great movie and decent service. Do you love a teenage ran buisiness, unhygienic movie theatre(rats,roaches etc.) workers talking drama while serving you? Well i DONT, after confessing my frustrations to the young blonde lady working at the popcorn stand (later found out her name is KENNEDY) a bystander later informed us she SPIT in our popcorn. By no means is this acceptable, these teenagers need to get a grip. Management does nothing, there's mice running in the bathroom stalls, dead roaches below the theatre seats and all around unhygienic establishment. I DO NOT recommend this movie theatre. This cinemark is nice and new. Lobby is great, love the set up. Theater was small, but I am sure others are larger. Another reviewer mentioned heated seats....I didn't even know they had this feature. Another reviewer also mentioned their having the AC on too high and what I experienced was the opposite, it was pretty hot. You cant really blame cinemark for trying to keep us warm in the winter and cool in the summer, but maybe they could pay more attention and adjust the heat/ cool daily. This is Dallas, 80 one day, 29 the next! But, overall nice movie theater, great seats and yummy popcorn. Good location. read more

We rented a theater for a private screening and the entire staff was SO helpful. I was wondering how I was going to carry popcorn and candy for 14 kids into the movie, but they were one step ahead. They bagged up all the popcorn and had a cart ready to roll it in. They helped us distribute all the goodies. On the way out, we were wished well. A far cry from other theaters where the staff barely acknowledges you. Service here was top notch! read more

Great, clean theater; comfy, heated reclining seats; friendly staff; and an overall nice experience. The only thing I didn't like was the concession area setup. I've seen theaters do the walk up, grab what you want, and pay method as well as the wait in a line at the counter and order setup, but this theater did a combo of those. Particularly for the popcorn, we weren't sure where the line was so we ended up walking up to the popcorn and asking, "do we get this here orrrrr...." Yeah, you ask for popcorn at the counter. Doi. Once you get past the "how the hell do I get my popcorn" snafu, it's all basic stuff after that: grab whatever else you want and pay on either end before scanning your app/tickets and proceeding to the theater. Another bonus about this theater is that when the movie started, people were respectful and quiet (minus the captain-obvious-couple next to me who felt compelled to whisper to each other every little detail). Usually on a Friday night, you get a rowdy crowd that claps and cheers when someone gets their ass kicked in an action flick, but nope! Great crowd, no crying kids, or obnoxious talkers, just awesomeness. read more

I'm proud to be the first person to Yelp the newest Cinemark Theater in McKinney. The first thing we noticed that was really nice was the ability to drive up to the door....it was pouring rain, and being able to drop off someone right at the door was a plus. The decor is very fresh...I'm sure Cinemark put a lot of study into the optimal setup. Instead of being outside, the ticket desk is in the lobby, out of the weather. The refreshment area is set up differently from previous Cinemarks, where here you pick up your food in the center of the lobby, and pay via separate checkout lines. They offer a slightly expanded menu of snacks to include potato wedges, chicken tenders, and Coca Cola Freestyle machines. The drinks are now self-serve, meaning you'll never get too much or too little ice in your drink again. Since it was the first weekend, you could tell that the staff was still new and somewhat unsure of themselves but still eager to provide a good experience. In the theaters themselves they offer the latest version of Cinemark's "Luxury Lounger", reclining seats with built in lumbar heating as well as a snack tray. We'll certainly be returning to this fresh new theater. read more

Right now, I am having lower back pains. I have never had back pains...ever! The chairs do recline only to a point that feels incomplete (like the economy class on an airplane) and the part where your legs rest only rise to a certain point awkward angle that also feels incomplete. You get a better leg stretch when getting a pedicure. The whole time that I was watching the movie, I kept adjusting myself in the chair. It was so uncomfortable that I woke up with a lower back pain. I am happy to change my rating if the theater adjust their seats. For now, I will not go back there. This back pain is not fun. Please do something about your chairs. read more

We went to see a movie that started at 8:30. The previews went on for over half an hour. The movie finally started a few minutes after 9:00. That was ridiculous and hard on folks with a babysitter waiting. Concessions were confusing, overly expensive and the checkout cashiers were unhelpful. We've been to this theater a handful of times since it opened and have had problems every single time! I've held off on writing a review thinking it was just a fluke, but enough is enough. 1) concession staff dont know what they are doing and are super slow. We've had coupons for free popcorn and were told we couldn't use them for our refillable bucket, only to come back the next time and told that we could. 2) we've paid for concessions that weren't ready but gave our info and told they would bring it to us. Never came 3) several of the bathroom stall locks in the women's restroom are already broken (both bathrooms) and they arent always clean 4) we've been in theaters with extremely rambunctious (dancing in their seats, jumping up and down, leaning over the seats in front of them, etc...), LOUD children. Instead of asking the parents to either control their children or leave, we were given a switch of seats ( but missed half the movie while we stand back in line at the box office waiting to talk to a manager). There was no apology or refund offered. 5) we've been in a theater where the entire previews and first part of the movie had no sound. Go to let someone know, they turn on the sound but dont offer to reimburse patrons for missing the first part due to their technical difficulties 6) we've had a mix up in our tickets because of the online app. This time they offer to give free passes and refund our tickets and concessions...only they give the free passes and then dont let me know what I need to do to get the refund. I had to stand in line at the box office 2 times and then go to the concessions 2 times and wait for a manager at both locations to get things refunded. 7) we've been in theaters without AC (as others have reviewed) and in theaters where the AC was turned down so low that even with blankets, jackets, and heated seats on high, we were so cold it was uncomfortable. 8) the heated seats are nice, but be careful with children. My son almost burned himself because the seats were to hot for his skin. 9) I dont know what it is about this theater and the app, but we've had issues twice now. As movie club members, I buy our tickets exclusively thru the app and have never had problems with any other theater. 10) the split check in to get your tickets really is confusing. You dont know until you check in what side you are going to be on until after you buy your food and check in...more than once we've had to then walk all the way around the concession area to the other side of the theater and show our ticket stubs to that check in stand. Only once did they have the check in stand up at the front which made things so much less confusing. The managers are not of the same caliber and customer service as every other Cinemark we have visited. Even Movies 14 and Movies 10 have managers who have better customer service skills. We've been there when there were technical difficulties (no sound, movie stopped, power outages, disruptive guests, etc...). I've seen them stand outside and hand out movie passes to every guest in the theater when there is a technical difficulty...but not at McKinney North. We will NOT be going back to this theater. We will stick to Allen which might be older, but we've never had any of these problems there. read more

We were from out of town and wanted to catch a movie for my daughter's birthday. I wasn't so sure after reading some reviews, but the theatre wasn't over priced, it was clean, and had reclining seats with seat heaters! There were also way more choices at the concession stand... Pizza by Pizza Hut, Pretzels with cheese and the drink machines where you can add vanilla, raspberry, etc. to any drink. I am thinking that those that have bad reviews before must just be spoiled rotten and not have anything else to complain about! read more

Took my family there to see Shaft, it's very nice inside, everything was going great. Movie previews were ok, sound was lower than I was accustom to, then the movie started, the sound quality of the movie seemed lower than the previews, I understand the movie may have had curse words, but to have it that low was very annoying, especially after spending $12.00 for tickets, my system at home sounds better. Management should do a better job with sound check, especially being a new theater. read more

So sad to see our favorite movie theater going down hill so quickly. Last few visits the seating areas were dirty and same during this visit (Sunday afternoon, Aug 14th). Was really unhappy to see the popcorn buttering station closed. Sign said due to "supply chain issues." Really?! Guess we'll start going to the other theater brand down the road, they seem the be able to find a supply. I mean if I am going to eat your expensive popcorn, the very least you can do is have butter for it. And to top it off, the restrooms were out of soap. All dispensers. Really?!? On the heels of a pandemic and outbreaks still occurring, not to mention just plain nasty, you can't keep soap in the restrooms?? Curious where the employees wash their hands before going back to serving food, handing tickets, giving change, etc. Please do better! And yes we politely brought it the staff's attention. read more

We went to see John Wick and the movie was great but the experience was terrible. Out of all the times we've seen previous John Wick movies (at Cinemark Theaters!) we've never been carded. One of the few times my boyfriend leaves his wallet and they ask for ID's. I don't understand how we've never been carded before for R-rated movies, but was sent back to our house in Flash Flooding weather to get it. It wouldn't have been an issue had the people in front of us got carded for going to the same theatre as we did. They walked right up before we did and only handed their tickets to her. The reason we know is because the our theatre was directly behind the worker. Not only were we soaked, but we also missed 30 minutes of our movie. Once we were back, she didn't apologize or anything for the inconvenience or for them not checking for ID's when purchasing the tickets. Its frustrating because I stopped my boyfriend from making a commotion about it, but had we been mean customers then we would've been admitted. There should be some reward for being nice but there hardly ever is. Instead of being a rude customer, we'll just take our business elsewhere. Other than that, the setup is great. read more
