The book was Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren. You register for the class and pay online. It is an easy process. You pick up the book before the class. You have a few weeks to read the book and then show up to the book club, where you discuss the book while making a craft. I love this concept. This was my dream night/class, getting to read a book and then craft while discussing it. There were about 8 people there and the instructor. Everyone was so kind and excited to be there and talk about the book. The craft was tote bags. We took acrylic paint and painted a bunch of books on there. There were so many creative designs.  The space at Musejar is wonderful. There is a separate entry for art classes and the store. The store has some super cool craft products, as well as a large selection of fiber items, and decor. It is inviting and warm and always decorated with the season or holiday. The art space is open, bright and has everything you need to make your project successful.

We had the opportunity to take a class with Jennifer Hastings and her company, Create Flow. This…read moreparticular class was building an herb garden. First, we got to petsonalize and decorate our herb container. The one side was a chalkboard. We were supplied with chalk markers to complete this part of the project. We then filled the container with rocks on the bottom (for drainage) and potting soil. We then added the 3 herbs. They included basil, rosemary, and parsley. Lastly, we added whatever top garnishment you wanted in your pot. Jennifer was great with the instructions for this class and included information on how to care for our herbs at home. She was also super nice. This class was held at Briar Brothers Brewery, so we were able to enjoy a brew while there. Check out her website for a list of upcoming classes & locations. The board making class was very nice. Easy to follow and there were great saying and different boards you could pick from. The brunch food was so good and there was a lot left over! Unfortunately I think saying unlimited mimosas for the first hour wasn't as what it was listed as. The class leader pours your drinks but it felt hard/weird/awkward to ask for another glass. So each person there only got two glasses of mimosas. I over heard someone asking her for a third later on in the class and the lady said that after the first hour you have to pay. I thought that was wrong, at least for our class. There was really no direction with that.

Those classes very season to season- pen and ink animals, print making, special ceramics projects, photography, etc. I took a 3 session Monet class, a figure drawing class, and an intro to pottery wheel class for a fraction of what other clay studios charge. My Monet ended up hanging in the lobby. Each season, they also have open art studio time - kids drawing, teen/adult drawing and painting, ceramics, senior sessions, and more. Three week days and Saturdays the center is open and you can work on your own projects with an instructor on hand for questions or advice. All the materials are provided. Everything is free with suggested donation amounts. This is such a wonderful asset to our community.

This is the second time my husband and I have attended an event together. I have been many times. We brought a charcuterie board, some bubbles and had a great time painting the highland xmas cow. Frankie and Megan were so fun teaching the class. The music was a vibe and it was a great night.
