Painting with a Twist

Painting with a Twist

Well. I have lots of things to say lol. First, hubby and I JUST finished our paintings and I. FEEL…read more DRAINED LOL. Second, this was both of our first time attempting a painting class at this volume. I've been wanting to attend a Painting with a Twist class for awhile and waited for the best one! Baby Yoda! Third, there are a lot of things to mention and I want to do it now even though I'm parched (ironic, i know) and feel overwhelmed, because I don't want to forget anything. So, you're greeted with a welcome and given instructions to swap your coat for an apron and you can grab cups and small paper plates for your beverages and food, if you bring any. You're also told where your seat is and your name is written on the table. The class was a lot of fun! But also, overwhelming. The pace was pretty quick and at times felt too fast. You definitely don't have time to lolly gag or really take a sip of your beverage. Forget a snack, no time. I think if you think less about each step as you're painting, it'll feel less overwhelming and you'll have time to drink something in between, which I highly recommend! But that's easier said than done because you want your painting to come out perfect. Other things that made it feel overwhelming is the music was playing kind of loud while the instructor was talking and then other people talking over all of that and some people singing. At times I sang a little (not loudly). What can you do, but have fun? Also, not being able to see what/how the instructor is painting because the screens are too far away or someone is blocking your vision. *Tip for the business- Have a picture of the painting at every station so everyone can at least see how your painting is supposed to look because it's hard to see details from far away.* The main points: As the instructor told us, don't forget to breath! Which I did a lot lol. I forgot to breath. Don't fret, it'll look great in the end when it all comes together and you can always blend things out with a sponge. Take a couple sips of your beverage every few steps, because I feel super dehydrated! Have fun! It's just painting and it's meant to be fun!

I always enjoy paint and sip parties. Was invited for a surprise birthday party. Had a really nice…read more time! I really enjoy painting. It is very relaxing! Micheal our Artist/entertainment for the evening was hilarious.

Paint with Personality

My husband and I attended one of Jessica's events at Applebee's!…read more It was AWESOME! I was impressed with her ability to orchestrate the group despite everyone working on their own individual projects! She offers so many different options at each class--it was a truly unique (and refreshing!!) paint night experience! I have been to several Paint Night-styled events and typically everyone follows instructions to create ONE canvas painting. Jessica's events stand out because the participants choose from several designs to paint on a wide variety of materials --allowing people to pick and choose what suits them, and at the level they feel comfortable creating at! This concept is genius, really... I chose to paint a sunflower piece on canvas with acrylic paint, while my husband chose to paint an Alice In Wonderland themed set of pint glasses. If you know us, you know that these two themes are absolutely PERFECT for us--I couldn't have planned it better myself, actually! The people behind us were painting a set of wine glasses, and several others were working on three other designs on canvas! She offers a faux stained glass option too, but I haven't experienced that yet! The hubs likes to attend paint night (for the drinks and girl chat hahah) but he is a self-proclaimed NON Artist. It was so great to have the pint glass option for him.... it was a simple design that kept him occupied almost the entire time it took me to rock out the sunflowers on the canvas. Her class method truly allowed us to "Paint with (our own) Personality!" And even though there were a ton of people, with a ton of different skill levels, working on a ton of different designs...somehow, she kept the orderly chaos moving along...and EVERYone ended up with a masterpiece at the end! I have liked her page on facebook where she shares info about upcoming projects and classes...There are some pretty awesome winter-inspired designs coming up (specifically the one with the toppling snowmen!! haha).... and I can't wait to attend another class and try the faux stained glass option! I am planning an open house soon and am thinking of having her come to do a craft night with some of my guests! Super cool idea for team building and mingling! Thanks, Jessica... for changing up the game a little...and helping us to Paint with Personality! ;)

I have attended a party at a winery, gone on a paint wine tour and had a private party at my house…read more(pictured on previous page). Had a wonderful time at all three events. Jessica has a bubbly fun personality which make her parties creative and unique. No need to have an artistic talent Jess will help and direct you through every step of the project. Looking for an idea for a bachelorette party, office party, or just a night out with the girls, I would definitely recommend Paint With Personality.
