Ok, so I've been itching to get our family out to a cut-your-own tree farm for YEARS. We usually go to a nursery, which is fine, but I just want that farm experience, you know? (Maybe I'm just cut from a different cloth. But hey, here we are.) My dad actually found out about this place, and we decided to give it a whirl. We've really been looking more fun/outdoor activities to do since the pandemic, so it seemed now they were a little bit more inclined to dive in and check out a cut-your-own farm. It was fairly busy when we pulled up, but there's enough land to keep yourself socially distant! I'm pretty sure this place is a little family-owned spot, but there were plenty of people around willing to give us a little bit of guidance being our first time. We were given a general idea of what kinds of trees we'd be able to find on the farm, where we could find them, and they provided plenty of tools for us to use if we'd like to (a pole to measure tree height, saw to cut it ourselves if we'd like, etc). We actually chickened out last minute and had some of the staff help us take down a tree we'd picked out, but it's cool! They handle everything for you if you'd like, cutting and carrying the tree, wrapping it up, helping attach it to the car. Trees here were only $45, no matter what size. That's right. Big trees. Little trees. Doesn't matter. And these aren't some poor looking trees, either. Thick, full, and healthy as heck, because they're growing right out of the ground! Ok, the tree we picked out ended up being a *little* bit crooked, but it's possibly the best tree we've ever owned. I know for a FACT we will be returning to this farm to pick out our Christmas tree next year. Maybe even for the years to come! We really enjoyed our time here and I'd totally recommend this spot to anyone who's looking for some wintertime agritourism.

The inside matched the outside with decorations and little holiday themes. There were little decorations for sale all over the shop. I grabbed a gallon of maple syrup and a little red pick up truck decoration. We also grabbed a grilled cheese sandwich from their kitchen area. Which was delicious on the car ride back to the city. The service is so great here. Everything is clean and the staff are super friendly and helpful. Everything is also priced really well here too. I will definitely be back during the holiday travels!

It was a short trip from our house and the scenery on the way was great. When we arrived, we were immediately impressed. As far as we could see we're stands of trees arranged by type in specific areas with walkways in between. We entered the sales area to get help on finding what we were looking for. This area was not the same as other nurseries. The selection of available items was limited but covered most gardening needs. The person at the counter pulled out a map of the nursery and told us which quadrant to look in. He gave us a tag so we could mark which one we wanted if we found something we liked. Each area was numbered so it was easy to find the species we were looking for. There was a plentiful number of trees that were obviously well cared for. We made our selection and tagged the tree. Upon returning to the sales area we paid for the tree which was less than other nurseries charge, especially since the tree was larger than those at other places, and arranged for delivery. The $50 fee is less than others. The next day the tree was delivered and placed right next to the place we had prepared for it. This visit has convinced us that Boston Hill will now be one of the nurseries we go to for quality products.

We went on a windy Friday afternoon and one of the girls who worked there wrote up a little post it for us letting us know where we could find the different types of trees that we were interested in. They also provided us with some suggestions that would help us manage the concerns in our yard. We were given tags with our name on them to "claim" the trees we wanted and then we just tore off the price tag so she could cash us out when we got up to the front again. I do wish I wore rubber rain boots and a heavier coat, but that was only my fault. Once we picked out all our trees they got us cashed out and talked to us about how we would plant them in our yard, we also opted for the delivery because some of the trees we got were nearly 15 feet tall. The delivery went off with our a hitch and the helped us place the trees right near where we planned to plant them. We are really excited about adding trees to our yard and we loved the selection and ease at Boston Hill Nursery. We are going to see how these trees do in our backyard and maybe we will get an ornamental tree for our front yard in a few years!
