Then garlic cheesy bread to toasted ravioli. Then a shrimp in sauce. Followed by bone in wings. The wings I believe were buffalo style. The garlic Cheese bread was amazing. But I had to behave. lol more food was coming. We had their house side salad which was nice and refreshing. Then the main food was set up more cater style. You had the options of moscaholi, tortellini, chicken Parmesan, and a beef bruschetta? All were good and fulfilling. Then they ended it with cheese cake. Huge slices we had food left over they allowed us to box up the rest to take home. To drink I had a Bellini which was nice and refreshing. Some of my coworkers had the chocolate martini they loved a lot!! I'd love to go back on my own time to eat here. I've heard great things about their egg plant... Parking is street or there's a lot in the back area. I love their Tiffany lamps in the main dinning area. We sat in the back room that's used for events. If your company has a party here. They did great!!

That would be an additional $7-$10. The portions are also significantly smaller than in the past before the price was increased.

Parking is easy within a block or two. Outdoor, booth, and table seating is available. My husband had the gluten free pasta because it is also vegan, and no lie and true to form, it was delightful and light! The tomato sauce is Perfection: not too acidic, not too sweet, letting the grand yet humble tomato shine. I chose the puttanesca, one of my favorite traditional Italian pastas. I would order this again!! Had plenty for lunch the next day. Not to be left out: the toasted ravs and cannoli. I've had a few T-ravs since moving to StL, and these are excellent. The tomato sauce for dipping, once again, is a real treat. The cannolis? Precious, flaky, and dreamy. I ate one at our table and took the second bad boy home. FIRE.

While traveling through Missouri, my wife and I were looking for a place to have dinner. I searched…read moreYelp and came across Anthonino's. I also remembered seeing it featured on the Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, so we figured it had to be worth a try. When we arrived, we were asked if we had a reservation. We didn't, but noticed a few open seats at the bar and asked if we could sit there instead. The two bartenders welcomed us right away and told us they would take good care of us throughout the evening. My wife ordered an iced tea, and I started with an Old Fashioned. For an appetizer, we ordered the Toasted Ravioli ($14), which is handmade in-house and filled with ground beef, ricotta, and pecorino romano cheese, served with marinara sauce. It's one of the dishes featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. For dinner, my wife ordered the Chicken Marsala ($23), and I went with the Bolognese ($17), made with veal, pork, red wine gravy, cresta di gallo pasta, stracciatella, and Calabrian chili oil. The toasted ravioli arrived looking great. I tried one without the sauce first. The fresh pasta didn't fry up quite the way I expected. It was more flaky than crispy, and I was hoping for a little more crunch. The filling was decent but could have used a bit more seasoning and flavor. The marinara sauce also had a bitterness to it that wasn't my favorite. When our entrées arrived, both dishes looked and smelled wonderful. Unfortunately, the flavors didn't quite live up to the presentation. My wife's Chicken Marsala had good flavor overall, but the side pasta was very gummy, and the sauce again had a bitter note that seemed to overpower the dish. My Bolognese was the biggest disappointment of the evening. When I think of Bolognese or a rich meat ragù, I usually expect a wider pasta such as pappardelle. The cresta di gallo pasta wasn't my favorite choice for the dish, and it also had a gummy texture. The sauce itself suffered from the same bitterness that we noticed throughout the meal. Looking back, I probably should have ordered the Carbonara once I realized the Bolognese wasn't being served with the type of pasta I was hoping for. Overall, the meal was okay, but it didn't quite meet the expectations we had after seeing the restaurant featured on television and reading the reviews. The service was excellent, and the bartenders did a fantastic job taking care of us. While this visit was a bit disappointing, there were plenty of other dishes on the menu that looked great, and I would be willing to give Anthonino's another try and order something different.

Today instead of ordering the daily lunch special like we normally do my wife got the soup and salad (I think soups are a new item here) and I ordered chicken Parmesan. The side salads you get are pretty large. We don't like tomatoes peppers and olives so ours are pretty plain. She had Caesar and I had regular. Both came with lots of cheese and mine had bacon. They do give you a pretty small container of dressing, but I guess that is kind of a good thing. Soup choices were tomato or potato and she chose potato. She thought it was a bit underdone. My chicken parm came with a half sized serving of pasta, which was pretty large. I was so full from just eating the salad and chicken parm I took the pasta home. I've had the baked meatballs too and both dishes are pretty similar. Lots of cheese. The meatballs could use more sauce, but are limited by the baking dish. I like them both well enough to have had them multiple times.

Of the things in the area, I'd go here again…read more Joe's was kind enough to deliver to me at the TA close to there closing time. They made sure to have the driver call me and give the food to the right person. . They did a good job on my special request, Chicken Parmigiana over fettuccini in Alfredo sauce! My favorite. The Alfredo was good, but was a little watered down for my taste, making me think whoever put the pasta in it didn't get enough water off. The portion is very good size with lots of cheese. The chicken was a large breaded and fried breast that was exactly what I expect. I ate about half and saved the other half for lunch today. The only thing they messed up was they didn't give me fettuccini, they put it over regular spaghetti. Fettuccini and Penne are much more my preference then regular spaghetti noodles for the dish. I got a side salad and it was good and fresh with pimento stuffed olives, croutons and cheese. It was small but enough. The highlight and what was perfection and unique from my experiences were the fried portobello mushroom slices. They were absolutely delicious. The breading was packed full of seasoning and the texture reminded me fondly of potato wedges from the deli or your favorite chicken shack. Soooo good. Keep up the good work, and thanks for delivering to a trucker last minute. See you again, down the road! Scott Hunter

We met the owner, who cooks many of their signature dishes, his daughter who manages the restaurant, and his granddaughter who was the hostess that night. We happened to be traveling through the area, celebrating our 50th anniversary, and they went out of their way to make it a memorable night for us! The restaurant has the feeling of a your smaller, neighborhood Italian restaurant that makes their dishes from recipes that have been passed down from one generation to the next. By the time we left, they made us feel like we were part of their extended family, if only for an evening. And when you're traveling on the road, that's a mighty nice feeling! Do yourself a favor, the next time you are in the area, plan on making this a destination. It's well worth it! (Consider making a reservation or at least calling ahead because they are pretty popular.)

The bad: The wait staff was not very engaged. I wanted this review to be about the food but that just wasn't meant to be. The Ugly: I am very well travelled on 3 continents. I've dined elegantly as well as from street vendors and I have NEVER had service that was this off putting to the point of being overtly rude, and I am an American who has eaten in France and doesn't speak much French. When we wouldn't sit at the bar, even though the main area was only 1/4 occupied They moved our party of 2 into the side room with chairs up on tables. It went downhill from there. Due to this, it wasn't possible to really enjoy what should have been a fine meal. I will say it is a wise policy to ask for payment and tip ahead of this type of service before it is provided.
