We were passing through and decided to stop in a local spot instead of a chain. We were hoping for breakfast all day, but they stop serving breakfast at 11. DH got the chicken and dumplings which was one of the specials. He had the option of a large bowl of dumplings or a smaller bowl with 2 sides and he chose the large bowl. These looked very good and homemade. He didn't leave any behind. I ordered the BLT (hold the lettuce) that came with chips. It had plenty of bacon, which was a plus, but could have used a bit more mayo -- of course, that's a personal preference. I had chocolate pie for dessert and it was delish! The slice was large enough to share. Staff was friendly and prompt. For lunch, the meal was a bit pricey, but what isn't nowadays? read more

recently became bonnie's cafe went there for breakfast to get my usual biscuits &. gravy were very bland and very little meat in gravy they changed the recipe, now i have to find new resturant with good biscuits & gravy read more

Everything is great can't complained good food great service it reminds me of the 50s diners you see in pictures

Very nice waitresses and they came to check on me lots of times. My favorite place to get a club is definitely here, and there is good onion rings too. The atmosphere is very homey and cool to look at. read more

Great atmosphere. Waitresses checked and refilled drinks many times. Very homey restaurant. Amazing food!

Everything about PJ's is great! First all the signed photos all around the diner are really cool. Secondly the service is amazing. Everyone treats you like family. And lastly the food is very good! The breakfast is something we can't get enough of! They also have really good daily specials for lunch and dinner! read more

Good portion sizes :) Got a double cheeseburger and it was cooked perfectly! Added fries, wasn't too sure due to the price for a side order, there was more than enough. Service was great, and we went over lunch. Definitely diner vibes with the look and feel of the restaurant, so that makes it fun. Wife had a hoagie sandwich and she said it was really good. We will definitely be back!! read more

Do not get any of the pasta's on the menu. I wish I would've taken a picture but I didn't think about it at the time. The shrimp pasta was very small and super expensive. It tasted like it came straight from a jar and not a good jar of sauce. My mom and I both got the shrimp pasta dish and we both could only take a couple of bites. These waitress saw we didn't eat the pasta and didn't ask if we liked it or if something was wrong. I think she knew that pasta wasn't good. The other food we had was okay but we won't go back for a while. We had high hopes for this place but that pasta was really, really bad. read more

The homemade pastas were anything but homemade. They were not even edible. Everything we got was bad to inedible. I have been here over the years and it has never been this bad. Not only was the food disgusting but the place was dirty and reeked of sewer. The food was priced as if it was gourmet.... When in fact, it was little more than slop. I rated one star.... They don't even deserve that. read more

How about breakfast that's cooked when you order it. Everything like it was made yesterday except for the eggs over medium.

Food and service was wonderful! Philly steak was delicious and chili cheese fries definitely stick to your ribs. Overall great experience. The actual restaurant itself is very cute and decorated nicely! Got my grandma a burger to go and it was perfect. Great place read more

Awesome! Just tripping thru the area and fortunately selected Pj's. The meal was outstanding - had special chicken salad on a croissant with a side salad (homemade ranch dressing). As an added bonus the decor is all memorabilia of baseball, football, racing, etc. So cool! read more

PJ's is a staple hometown diner. If you're from the area, it's impossible to walk in without seeing someone you know. I don't think I've been able to make it in the door without stopping to talk. We went there countless times as kids and our favorite thing to do was play eye spy. It will keep your kids entertained through the entire meal because there is so much to look at on every inch of the walls! You'll see memorabilia of all genres: sports, film, racing, locals, you name it! Food is always great, service is friendly, and atmosphere is delightful. read more

Good chicken fried steak!!! Eggs and hash browns were good also!!! It was my first time there and I was pleasantly surprised!!! I'll go back for sure!!! All the staff was great!!! read more

We swung by here in between a wedding and the reception to grab a snack. Our grab had a slew of the menu. BBQ Chicken pizza was VERY good with great crust, toasted raviolli were average, tenderloin was good sized and breaded well. Hamburgers look good (I don't eat beef). Service was pretty good, nothing to write home about. Only complaint is, you pay at the front and we didn't know (out of towners), so waited a few minutes for the waitress to come back, then realized. Would go back, great small town diner. PS. they have a BUNCH of sports memorabilia decorating almost every square inch. read more

Local popular place. Like a 50's dinner. Friendly and the food is your normal taste, not fancy. Good place for breakfast or burger. read more

Pj's Diner - Local hang out. Timeless. - American Near Me - Breese, Illinois

Awesome little diner! Loved all the sports memorabilia. Our waitress was awesome and very friendly. Prices were great just like the food!

A great little small-town diner with an unreal amount of signed rock and roll memorabilia in the back room. Offhand I'd say the owners know EVERYONE in show business judging from the walls that are literally covered with signed celeb photos. The service was very friendly although the meatloaf special wasn't to my particular taste, it was certainly edible and the desserts were very nice with an enormous selection. The prices are very reasonable as well and the next time I am in Breese I am definitely eating here again. We had originally come to eat at another place that was closed so they definitely snoozed and lost! read more

I always forget about this little place but I love it even the old style decorations that makes you feel like your in Branson food is great service is great and food was hot and fast keep up the good work crew and if you are around the Breese area check it out read more

Best sit down diner in the county. By far the best fried chicken ever & a huge variety of cakes & pies!

Well we came here on Sunday morning, judging the by the crowd I figured it was a local favorite. Even though we were a group of 7 (plus a child), we were promptly seated. PJ's definitely has a feel of a southern Illinois diner; the walls are full of sports memorabilia and autographed pictures of famous people. The service was good, considering the size of our group and how busy they were. The food was average, the bacon was a bit crisp for my liking. Their biscuits with the sausage gravy was the highlight of the meal and I would definitely recommend it to anybody visiting. All in all, nothing really stood out, but given the location and sparse options, this is still a nice place to eat. I'll certainly be stopping by again when in the area. read more

Great breakfast. This is a comfortable diner type restaurant. Good food. Awesome service. Will definitely be coming back.

The best Biscuits and Gravy within a 20 mile radius. Wish they were served all day instead of only during breakfast.

had the grilled chicken salad. Chicken came almost in almost frozen pieces. So ordered a cup of chili and that wasn't edible. Hubby had patty melt and fries and said was good. Also charged me wrong on the chili. Nicely decorated. read more

This place definitely has the nice small hometown feel. It's got a great feel & pace to it. A no rush place where you can sit down & share great laughs with friends & family. It's a decent place for a date night as well. They have a large menu that have endless dining options. The best thing on the menu are the breakfast options which are unbelievably delicious. Great food with lots of smiles and a great atmosphere. Whether you're dining in or getting it delivered its always a great choice to get PJ's! read more

For instance Taco Pizza, BBQ pulled chicken sandwich, or chili cheese dog and chili cheese fries. Prices are reasonable. Usually going to spend $6-$9 for lunch. read more

I have been going there for years. Don't know if they got a different cook, but the food today was terrible.Ordered the chicken and dumplings which have always been great, not today all the dumplings were stuck together, couldn't find the chicken hardly any liquid and absolutely no flavor. It's sure not like it used to be. Good friendly staff but they must have gotten a different cook. Try at your own risk. read more
