We had a great moving experience with Joe's Moving. They made a normally painful process very seamless. We had 3 men, Tim, Tim and Steve. They were very professional but also very friendly. They worked very fast but also carefully. They handled all our special service requests without any problems. They also improvised when they had to. I had a few quotes and they were a little cheaper than the others but they also finished quicker than their quoted time which saved us more money. I came across this company after a Google search for local apartment movers. I called several companies and Joe's Moving Co. was the first and only company to respond. Matthew was friendly, professional, and very helpful in planning my move and providing an estimated cost up front. I paid a deposit and received a receipt to my email with a breakdown of the cost we spoke of on the phone. The day of the move from one apt to another, the two moving men that arrived were on time and ready to get to work. They introduced themselves, surveyed the area, and got started. The entire move was done quickly and efficiently. They were very careful with all my items and set things up in my new apt just how I wished. I would definitely use this company again. read more

I hired Joe's for 3 reasons, they have a storage facility, the price was right, and Matthew, who arranged everything, is so darn nice on the phone. my closing was after the move out date from the rental, and Joe's could do it all. Moving out was a breeze and went successfully well. something happened when my things went into storage. The day they were supposed to bring my things out of storage to my new house started badly. I was told they would be at my house early in the morning. when I hadn't heard anything by 11AM, I called. Matt was surprised and said he would have someone call. At 11:20 A, I got a call they were on their way. They arrived 50 minutes later. Fifty minutes to go 4 miles. By the end of the day, the exact same move from storage to house - one floor - as the original move - house to storage - had doubled in price. However, I looked out my living room window to see them grabbing their fast food bags, munching away. I have no issues with them stopping for lunch, but they did it on my dime - by the hour, by the mile. Having had 2 back surgeries and 4 surgeries on my arms due to a car accident, I was absolutely slow unpacking. When I finally had everything unpacked, I was missing many things: dishes, winter pjs, small kitchen appliances, glass mugs, and the biggest thing, my laser printer. Additionally, several items were damaged. I have big scratches on my dresser, my box springs are dirty even though I offered blankets, and there's a deep scratch on my washer door that won't show in a picture. Numerous phone calls to Joe's have remained unanswered. Now it's time to file a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more

I inquired about moving gym equipment from our basement to a spare bedroom on the second floor. Joe answered my call right away and was very polite and accommodating. He scheduled the move immediately (a lot faster than I expected) and at a very reasonable price! I put my things in storage- one stop shopping or so I thought. They lost my dishes, pots and pans, other kitchen items, a box of winter pjs and my laser printer. If they had gone from one house to the next, it might have been ok, but don't use these guys for storage. I think they had a field day with my stuff because how do you lose it? And the stuff they delivered took twice as long to deliver as it did to pick it up. It took them 50 minutes to go 4 miles because they stopped for food on the way - on my dime. I hired Joe's for a tricky office move. Our organization owns music equipment and instruments including extremely heavy and awkwardly shaped amplifiers. The crew arrived on time and quickly got to work. I was especially impressed with and grateful for the care they took when handling our expensive equipment. The movers worked incredibly hard for 6 hours without taking a lunch break (despite my encouragement to do so). They were kind and very nice to spend the day with. Communication with the main office was easy. I originally chose this company because their hourly rate was so competitive and that's extremely important for our nonprofit organization. We had a mattress delivered via Joe's Moving and wow, talk about great service! Scott and Rob kept us informed every step of the way regarding day and time of delivery. They arrived exactly when they said they would. The team of two carefully removed the old mattress and box spring before hauling up the new frame. Rather than young and strong guys, two old guys showed up to move my one bedroom apartment. I had everything packed and taped. They took all day, bled on my white couch (!), took many smoking breaks, complained about their pain, etc the ENTIRE time, took from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, then had the audacity to try and charge me twice the original quote. When I spoke with Joe, he asked me what he should do to get better employees. I liked Joe (from phone conversations- never met him) but the two he sent for my job were inept. Called Joe's Moving Company for a quote to move a two bedroom room, was told it would be 4-5 hours and maximum of ~$800. Day of the move the movers show up and begin to move. Firstly, the movers and I go over our inventory to confirm everything was accurate, and it all checked out according to the estimate. They began moving. The one gentleman was in his senior years and had been talking about how he has a bad hip and was exhausted for most of the move, so due to that he spent a majority of his time in the truck moving everything around. The second gentleman did a majority of the moving, however he did not use a dolly and every time he asked for assistance from the senior man he was told "he will be there in a minute." For reference, it took them 4 hours just to dismantle the bed frame. The woman was the only good part, she moved the 30 boxes and did mild heavy lifting, which seemed fine to me. Here's where things get terrible: The one gentleman not in the truck, decided to move my dryer from the basement to get ready to put on the truck. Because the senior man was still in the truck, he decided to do it solely with a dolly and no covers or protection. He essentially dragged by dryer up the stairs, causing damage to my apartment, and completely scratching my glass dryer door. Then they began to say "it was not us" but thankfully I had before and after pictures to prove they were and they admitted to it. Next the only man decided to use my apartment restroom, come to find out he smoked in the bathroom, causing major smell in the bathroom that was not easy to get rid of, and proceeded to trash his cigar in the trash bag. The entire time the two men were going back and forth, becoming more and more hostile to each other that it got to a point where I did not know what to do and just tried to calm the situation down. Finally when they were done with my apartment, the said they will "meet us at the new house". They were gone for a whole hour, ignoring calls to confirm if they knew where they were going. Once they got there I asked if they got lost and they said the got lunch, which was totally fine with me, but I wanted to make sure they knew how to get here. It was a 6 mile distance between the old and new place, so I was concerned. Now when they start moving stuff in, the senior gentleman again is just in the truck, along with the woman while the other guy is throwing boxes into our living room haphazardly. We asked if they could be moved into their appropriate rooms, but was told they "are movers, not designers". Again the senior man assembled our bed frame in just under 3 hours. We noticed there were scuffs and damage to our bed frame, since we saw them literally throw the boards onto our driveway. After everything is said and done, it was over 9 hours later, and I was told the total bill: ~$1500, including their hour lunch break. I paid so they would leave my house, however I attempted to call Joe to see if we could negotiate the total bill, but no answer. After unpacking my boxes, I found that a couple of my items were missing, my apple HomePod and my apple AirPods Pro. We told them not to touch our HomePods as we were going to move them, and my AirPods were in a box by my nightstand. After investigating on the "find my" app on my iPhone, I found out that my items were actually STOLEN. Now I finally called Joe again to see if I could get a response, and to summarize this is how they said they'd "make it right". 1. buying me a new HomePod (have yet to receive) 2. Refunding me 30 minutes for their lunch (Again they were gone for an hour) That's it. The original estimate of my intact stuff I went over with sales individual stated 4-5 hours MAXIMUM total of ~$800. In short, my stuff was stolen, my property damaged, and totally bait and switched on price. I will be seeking damages if they do not make this right. read more

Most unprofessional, disrespectful service by far! If I could give zero stars...believe me I would. While I am sure that Joe will reply to this with some poor excuse, let me tell you the real story. We had 2 guys show up...late of course and smelling like smoke. They did move our items quickly to our new house but also quickly packed up their stuff an hour and half into the job when we were told we were paying for a 3 hour minimum (1 hour driving time included). The mover asked how I was going to pay and I said, there are still a bunch of boxes I need help with, his response, "Our job is done." Ended up getting them to agree to move more of our stuff...because you know, that's what they are being paid to do, I got plenty of attitude and eye rolling. What set me off what when these guys were walking through my brand new house...new build...new carpet, with no protection on their feet and not laying down their carpet protectors. I asked them to put the protectors down, and got a huge attitude and was told that to get respect I need to give respect and he started yelling at me in my own house...so I kicked them out, with their check that I should have had 45 minutes left for moving. This kid starts screaming outside my house, in my new neighborhood. Classy. When I called Joe, he agreed that he himself would come out the next morning at 9am to move for the remaining 45 minutes I paid for. 9am came and went and no show no call from Joe. I gave him 30 mins before I called him and told him he was suppose to be at my house. He "forgot" to show up and then turned defensive and started blaming me tell me I got the time wrong. When I told him that I would be canceling the check, he informed me he could not afford for me to cash the check. He was clearly more upset about losing out on $230 than making things right. He then texted me later (yes, real professional, Joe) and said, "he was sorry for acting defensive and has a lot going on in his life." You shouldn't be a business owner if you can't run a business. I canceled the payment on the check, because well... I am not running a charity business, and he still tried to cash the check. Shady, disgusting and unprofessional. Stay away from these guys at all cost! read more

They called to tell me they'd be an hour late after the time frame and then they showed up without face masks. They asked if I wanted them to wear them, I said yes because we're in the middle of a pandemic and they had to LEAVE to get them. 1.5 hours after my scheduled time frame they got started. Mind you I was their first call. The employees were relatively nice but visibly annoyed I asked them to wear masks. And they must've stopped at Burger King between places because they stored the screws for my mirror that attaches to my dresser in a French fry container. Overall not professional. And after they left I noticed my dresser was wobbly and I had to have someone held me tip it over to fix it because they didn't screw on a leg all the way!! Decently pleasant people but I would not recommend them. read more

Horrible experience. Period. The movers arrived late (and when I called Joe to find out where they were, I was told the truck was on it's way, however it did not arrive for another 1/2 hour, from twenty minutes away), one of the two movers was an older man with a bad back/hip/leg, etc. that informed me MANY times throughout the move that he would be going to the hospital afterwards and complained incessantly the entire job), they did not have all the necessary tools with them (I had to dig my own toolbox out to find the appropriate tools), the workers bickered with each other the entire time (and would complain to me about each other while the other's back was turned), and worst of all, I had to move a large number of items myself because they were taking so much longer than the 3 hours that was quoted for the job (1BR apartment). I am asthmatic and have a bad back due to an old injury, this is why I hired movers. The movers were trying to tell ME what to do, as if I work for them. I finally had to tell them that I was physically unable to continue to assist them and that I would not be paying for any additional time it took them to complete the move. I contacted Joe regarding these issues and was told that: A) his mover did not tell him he was injured (the man walked bent over and with a limp.. it was clear to me the instant I saw him that something was wrong there) and, B) I should have called him that day so he could send another truck later when he had better movers available (I took the day off from work, I wasn't about to waste it waiting for another truck - given that the first truck was an hour late, who knows what time another truck would have shown up?).. Joe then asked if I had additional items left to move. When I advised him that I was able to get the rest of the items moved over the weekend, he responded with "ok". That's it. He took no blame and made no attempt to amend the situation. This company made a naturally stressful experience even worse. Definitely not worth any money you might save by not going with a larger, more reputable company. read more

**Both Joe and the mover we had an issue with reached out to us personally and while that day was still much more stressful than it needed to be, I recognize that people have bad days and not everything can be on time. On top of that it really shows that Joe cares and ultimately the move was quick, nothing broken and very close to the original quote. I see all the positive reviews here and I'm very happy for all of you that had a very good experience with this company. Let me tell you about mine. I received a call the day before the move and the guy had told me that they should be arriving around 9:30. I called around 10:45 and spoke to the owner about them not yet being there and he said, oh, I didn't know it. They should be there very soon then. 11:00 comes around and they show up, no apology, just "crickets." Fast forward to the progression here of the move. They were very thorough when it came to wrapping everything in shrink wrap, well, whatever would require that. However they weren't motivated at all and when they got to my new apartment, their "speed" slowed down even more. I had a guy who was putting up some blinds and it was awkward since they were an hour and half late and then very slow in doing their job. Had they been on time (or close to it) this wouldn't have happened. Of course they still may have been there for a bit after he came since they were ridiculously slow. I spoke with Joe over a week ago and he was going to reimburse me some money, which I'm still waiting to see. Talked with him a few minutes ago and he said he thought he put it in the mail. I do expect to receive it since he seems to be very honest and hope I'm right. He said initially he's never had any complaints concerning those 2 movers and well......perhaps they actually did their job in a timely fashion or others didn't mind movers going at a snails pace??!!! This is my honest review and I wasn't going to write one since I didn't feel right about it at the time, nor do I even now but......after talking to him a few minutes ago (again) and the way the conversation went, I changed my mind. Again, I do expect to see that check and one more thing. The customer service they provide is excellent providing you don't have any very significant issues with your move and then be prepared for his employees to be given way more than "the benefit of the doubt!!!' read more
