I paid in cash upfront as requested and left the jacket. The next day, i found out the event I needed the jacket for was canceled, so I stopped by to pick it up before any work had been done. At that point, Jordan said he would only refund $30 of the $35. When I inquired why, he explained that he had already spent time marking the buttons (60 seconds) and replied: "My time is money. I'm tired of you people coming in here and then changing your mind." I'm not sure who "you people" refers to, but that comment felt unnecessary and off-putting. Sadly, I've been going to him for almost 10 years and he does decent work. Maybe he was just having a bad day. He did ultimately return the full $35, and I left without saying anything. That said, based on this experience, I don't plan to return--and I'd be hesitant to recommend this shop to "my people" (we all kind look alike) or others.

My fiancé called Roger's studio and asked for a general quote. Roger's response was "that's like asking a mechanic for a price to fix your car without bringing the car in. I need to see the suit. Bring it here!". From that moment, we knew he was our guy. We made our way down the street to find ourselves ringing a doorbell at 59 Wareham St. Who was to know the man who came to the door would change our life? Roger greeted us with a smile, a hand shake and ran back into his studio to finish whatever masterpiece he was working on. My fiancé and I looked at each other, shared a quick laugh and followed behind Roger. We turned the corner into his studio to see people of all ages hanging out, waiting for their turn for Roger's services. New customers trickling in and longtime customers dropping in and out to pick up their finished pieces. It was crazy busy and buzzing with energy. My fiancé tried the suit on, Roger looked at him briefly and said "They don't make suits like this anymore. You're all set, take it off". My fiancé and I looked at each other confused. When we asked if he needed to pin it or take measurements, he pointed to his own eyes and said "I just did". That quick visit we made turned into 3-4 hours. We could not bring ourselves to leave. In fact, we lost track of time. That's what happens at Roger's! Roger could see the sparkle in my eyes. I've always wanted to learn to sew and have always had a passion for creation within the fashion industry. He said to me "uh oh. you got the pinch. you'll be back". Roger was right. I was back the very next morning to observe his work and haven't stopped going since! I visit Roger's studio as much as I possibly can. To say he is gifted is an understatement. I've seen him make industrial bags into an amazing men's jacket, leather fabric into 7 sofa cushions for a new lounge opening up in the area, wedding dresses from scratch, the list goes on and on. He gives young men confidence and older men their youth through the suits he tailors and custom designs for them. He makes each bride leave feeling like the princess that they are. He is the craftsman behind many aspiring and established apparel designers in the industry. Roger exceeds his clients expectations not just because of the artist he is, but because he is honest. He will tell you if something is "too this" or "too that" regardless of if you asked. It's amazing to see firsthand because everyone receives this type of honesty differently. Some laugh it off. Some turn beat red. But, in the end, every single one of them walks out happy. I could go on and on, as you can see! Roger is a designer, a mentor and a friend. I will be a bride next year in 2018 and I am ecstatic to have Roger help create my dress.
