Food is terrible. The bill was all over the place and they wouldn't let us pay separately. I will never come back

Saturday night we had a table booked for 25 and the rest of the place was jammers too. The set menu had a great selection which was different to the last time we where there so I was pleased. A lot of us got excited for the pork belly starter and the seabass main.. Until the waitress arrived to tell us there was neither of them.. Actually a lot of the menu was sold out! I had the wings to start.. Ok just very scabby portion and not much meat on them.. My mams nachos where ok.. Then the mussels I got for my main arrived.. Nice mussels just so bland.. Tomatoe based sauce that just tasted like a tin of tomatoe poured over.. No garlic or onions. My mams duck but was lovely. Pink in the middle and served with a green bean and salted hazelnut salad. Two of the girls gave back the Caesar salad (which came with mixed leaves not the usual cos lettuce) and they said the chicken was so dry. The staff are all young teenagers now so very clumsy and knocked off my chair quite a bit as I was sitting at the top of the table. All in all I won't be raving about their amazing €21 menu anymore as the food and service just let it down this time around.

The Treetop is a funny one, it's stuck in the 1980's but that's not necessarily a bad thing…read more There's nothing sexy or trendy about The Treetop but it has a real charm. The steak is as good as you'll find anywhere. The staff are very friendly.

We were seated by a window table and had fun people watching the sidewalk. I loved their music choices, lots of 1975! Friendly staff and good service. I wasn't too hungry so I ordered an iced coffee and my husband got toast and eggs. Delicious!

Meals looked lovely and well presented. I went for the Beer battered fish option on lunch menu and my request for mash potato instead of the frozen chips was honoured. Unfortunately potatoes cold and even the warm dish they served in didn't improve temperature so I just had to eat some mash with every bite of fish so the meal wasn't spoiled. Not that I would have wanted the potato microwaved but they should have been tasted or checked before serving. Fish was oozing grease so had to soak it off both sides with the napkins. Fish should have been left to drain off a bit while the potatoes were being warmed. Anyway my sons huge Buttermilk Burger & chips went down a treat. Loved that tea came in a non drip teapot but would have been nicer with a spoon of sugar. After seeing my son drop 2 sugar lumps trying to retrieve them from a tiny jar that teaspoon didnt fit in put me off having any, especially realising that only little fingers could fit in that jar and wondering if the lumps fall out on others 'do they just pop them back in jar again'? More hygienic way of serving sugar should be looked at. Having seen the dinner menu I am interested to go back again and give the Hudson Rooms another try. The ambiance, pleasant staff and competitive pricing has warranted at least another visit with higher expectations.
