I thought it would be a cool place from the exterior, and was really impressed by the decor, design and modern influences of the interior. We should have made reservations in advance, but it was our first night in Dublin. We lucked out and got a table for four. Nice selection of items on the menu yet not overwhelming. Had something for everyone. Wine list had most of the bases covered. My wife had the pan roasted chicken and the rest of us went for steaks. I confess we didn't do the dry aged version. One of our group had the filet and raved about it. Yet she wouldn't share, but that's a different story. Two of us had the garlic and thyme infused ribeye. Cooked to our liking and delicious. We ordered the 3 course early bird special, which is a great deal considering the fantastic quality of the food. Service: Our waiters were attentive and nice, and they gave us some good recommendations from the menu. Food: We ordered the chicken caesar salad, Connemara rock oysters, prime sirloin center cut, wood-fired tiger prawns, chocolate fromboise, and Irish cheeseboard. All of them were delicious and served fresh, and the portions were big! The oysters were particularly excellent. Drinks: We got the Noperol Spritz and Mango Caipirinha. They were both refreshing and a great complement to the meal. Ambience: The restaurant is in a prime location right beside Grafton street and St. Stephen's Green. The Scarlet Vetter says.....I was in Dublin for a business conference and our organizers arranged for a dinner for our group at this restaurant. We really enjoyed our night here. We arrived and were placed in a reserved space near the bar where a server took drink orders. After a short bit we were brought to the main dining room to be seated to eat. The restaurant selected menu items from its regular menu to offer to our group (as you will see from the special group print menu they provided to our table.) I selected the lamb kabobs for an appetizer and my husband selected the Buckwheat Salad. Both were delicious. The lamb kabobs were perfectly done and the salad was refreshing and nutty flavored. For dinner, both of us ordered the Sirloin (prime center cut, 35 day aged) Steak, medium rare and medium respectively. The dishes arrived at the perfect temperature and the meat was just melt in your mouth and came dressed with crispy friend onions. Yum! The Sirloin entree was offered with the choice of a delicious and unique side salad of micro cress and baby leaf or Pont Neuf Chips. We chose the salads and were impressed with their texture and flavor. For dessert, I ordered the White Chocolate and Raspberry Cheesecake and my husband ordered off menu, a selection of ice cream, which then restaurant is apparently known for. The desserts were both refreshing and flavorful. The timing of food delivery was perfect, not rushed at all, but not overly delayed. The atmosphere at the establishment is inviting and chic and the sound absorbtion for a large room was very good. We did not have to shout to be heard at our 8 top table. We had dinner reservations at Fire Steakhouse & Bar for 5pm on a Wednesday. The bottom floor of the restaurant was a lounge area/ tearoom. I had a lovely honey gin craft cocktail at the bar while we waited for our table to be ready. Appreciated that they offered coat check at the front reception. When we were guided to our table, I was blown away by how stunning the main dining area was. It was beautifully elegant but also uniquely modern with these red "trees" that were works of art. Loved that our table was a circle rather than one long rectangular table. This way, everyone could converse with each other across the table and all felt part of the group. Service was great. Our waiter was friendly and helpful, and I was impressed by the pacing of the food. Also kudos to our waiter who did his best to accommodate our late guests while keeping the dinner going. I know that they have rules and the table had a time limit, but he didn't try to rush us through dinner. We were a table of 10 and were given the prix fixe menu as a result. I ordered the lamb skewers as my first course, ribeye for my entree, and the iced praline parfait for my dessert. At some point during my Dublin trip, a local mentioned that the lamb in Dublin is the best you'll ever had. Our waiter upped the ante by saying THEIR lamb skewers is the best. I am confirming that both statements are true. The best lamb I've ever had was in Dublin, and it's from FIRE restaurant. Do not sleep on these lamb skewers. The meat was so tender and flavorful - not gamey at all. I'm glad I chose the ribeye. My friends who ordered the sirloin were not happy with the texture nor flavor. I was pleased with my steak and used the peppercorn gravy as a dipping sauce. The fried onions didn't really do much for me. The iced praline parfait was fantastic. This was recommended by our waiter as the best dessert on the menu. It had a really interesting texture like frozen mousse. My only regret was that I wish I was hungry enough to eat the whole thing. The restaurant is in a historic building near St Stephen's Green. The dining rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The service was excellent. Our meal began with bread and butter, which sounds very usual. But the bread and butter were absolutely delicious. Then the 6 oz filets came, cooked to perfection. French onion soup was okay but did not have the caramelized cheese around the edges that you normally get it for. My sirloin steak was what you'd expect at an upscale casual chain, not a premium steakhouse. It was somewhat thin and lacked any particular character. Same could be said for the creamed spinach and cauliflower cheese. The service is what ranted them four stars. Very attentive. They initially brought me the wrong bottle of wine, I didn't notice until after it was open but they were great about replacing it without making me feel stupid. Best thing about Fire is the room itself. A spectacular, opulent and old style room which is set apart from the old Mansion House, home of generations of Dublin Lord Mayors. Boys night out so it was steaks all round. Generously sized with plenty of chips, the steak was excellent and the evening passed most agreeably. Which explained when we were asked to give up our table after 1 1/2 hrs cause they had another party for the table we were at. We came here to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary, we sat outside on the covered and heated patio which was a lovely view. It wasn't clear who was our server because we had several different people asking us if we were ready to order, which we wanted to take our time and enjoy our celebration. Huge rigarmole about ordering a rib-eye medium-rare ("the Chef recommends it medium") and when you order it comes what most places would call medium-rare when you order medium. Tiger prawns were more like tiger cub prawns, i.e., more like prawn prawns than tiger prawns. Service was slow. Close but no cigar. read more

This restaurant is so elegant and pretty. Fine cuisine with a piano bar vibe. Everything was so fresh but it seems as though that's the theme in Dublin. They also have the born date and kill date of all the meats listed, that was new to me. Prices are on the higher end but no one in my party had any complaints. The ambiance is exceptional and it will make you feel excited in anticipation of a good meal. We ordered our main courses at the same time as our starters. The lamb skewers were delightful and considerably better than the rack of lamb that I ordered. The lamb was cooked well done and quite small. When I brought it to the attention of the server he escalated it to the manager. The manager apologized and promised to make it right by bringing out another one that was properly cooked- that never happened. It was disappointing that they failed on three levels to deliver a delightful meal. My cauliflower au gratin was okay- it needed salt and pepper. My roasted vegetables were also okay. My son enjoyed the ribeye. He ordered a three course meal and the server never brought out his dessert. The manager apologized and refunded the cost of the rack of lamb and dessert. The food could not have been better; the service could not have been worse. We were told that we could not order starters before our entrées because it would take too long for the entrées to be served. So after our server relented and gave us time to choose our entrées, we waited 40 minutes between courses. My husband said something to the floor manager about not being allowed the option to order starters first only to be told, "it takes that long to cook a steak." We are aware of how long it takes to cook a steak -- that's how starters work. When staff served the entrées, they they insisted on serving my husband and me the shared board, although I told them that entrée was for my husband and son: SERIOUSLY hot plate never intended for me, but they ignored everything we said. It's basic -- absolutely basic -- service to know which entrée belongs to which diner; short of that, surely staff can listen to an entire table of patrons insisting, "No! No thank you -- that's not mine!" After we each received our meals, we did not see our waiter for another half hour. We had to flag him down to order a bottle of wine and then again after another half hour to order dessert. We spoke again to the manager, who could not have possibly cared less and made it so, perfectly clear. The food is indeed excellent, but many restaurants offer a great meal without treating patrons like garbage. Just don't do it. read more

I had the wood fired tiger prawns, which were the best I ever had, and my wife had French onion soup; she said it was the best she ever had. We then had rib eyes. I had aged and my wife had standard cut. Both were good, but a bit too much gristle. We finished with the apple tartlet, which was okay at best. As soon as we took our last bite of desert we were told we had to leave for other guests. Our waiter did offer to make a reservation for us at the bar, where we could enjoy a drink. This was a first for me. I put my credit card on the check and after waiting about fifteen minutes we waved a manager over and said we'd like to pay the check. We paid and went on our way. It was our last night in Dublin, and to be honest we'd rather have had shepherds pie at a local pub. read more

Whoever said "all bark, no bite" was right. Right look and feel but missing all the things that make a restaurant special. The service was the least attentive I've ever had at a steakhouse. For the prices you're paying, having to flag down the waiter every time you need something is a right pain in the arse. Our waiter could not have cared less about us or our experience - took him nearly half an hour to pick up our card, didn't offer dessert or drinks, etc. The food was okay at best. The space is really neat, so that's cool and we were excited to have some steak after reading all the positive reviews. From the beginning our water order was wrong, my drink order was wrong, and the steaks were chewy and not seasoned and honestly just not good. It took over 30 minutes to get our bill. Also, the chef normally has a more limited menu available for the larger parties, but we spoke to the server and they gladly exchanged and gave us the regular dinner menu that had lots more variety. The beef was fantastic, and the side dishes brought out family style were tasty and generously portioned. Desserts and beverages were also very good. Our servers were attentive and very professional. They were highly efficient and very "unintrusive" in making sure the table was attended without being noticed! The décor and ambiance were very interesting, and we enjoyed reading about the building's history. The motifs, coats of arms and other details really helped create a great atmosphere. read more
