Had a fantastic dinner at Bay Restaurant in Clontarf with some friends. My friends are local and…read morerecommended it and it was definitely a lovely choice. The restaurant itself is cute overlooking the bay (low tide when we came) but you could tell it had great views. I loved that the restaurant had outdoor covered seating which we sat at and proved to be lovely. Service was definitely 5 stars and everyone was so lovely. We had two staff helping us out and they were both so very nice. Being tourists I sometimes wonder if we'll be treated differently, especially at a more locals spot but not here. Everyone was friendly and attentive from start to finish. Menu was impressive. I like going to a restaurant where it's hard to choose what to order. The menu is pretty big for dinner and I was definitely stuck between a few items which is a good problem to have. Cocktails were primarily spritz's but at least they had that. I just opted for my classic Bulmers and I was happy. For my dinner I had the prawn tacos which were delicious. This isn't authentic Mexican food or anything like that but they still made a tasty taco. The ingredients were super fresh and delicious. The prawns were huge and had a great seasoning. My friends all got the fried cheese tacos and those were the real star of the night. The tacos come with chips but I opted to substitute for their stir fried teriyaki veggies. Happy I got this and if you need a break from fries this was a good side. Ended with a brownie with ice cream. The brownie was more like a brownie cake than a traditional brownie in my opinion but it's okay, it was still super tasty and the chocolate sauce was marvelous. The atmosphere here was great and it was definitely a nice spot to come to dinner with the girls. All in all this place delivered in every category, 5 stars for food, service, atmosphere, and menu for sure. I would highly recommend coming here if you are staying in this part of town.

Food: The food could be above average or really good. Breakfast: I tried their breakfast. Options range between €13-16. French toast €13: nice and moist but a little over average. Menmen eggs: vegetables, tomatoes, feta cheese and scrambled eggs with your choice of wheat toast or sourdough bread. The bread was dry and the eggs were ok. Pancake was dry. I tried their mocha, chocolate powder on top really complemented the flavor of the mocha. Not bad. I prefer some of the other cafes more, like butlers! But this was still enjoyable and more of the traditional more common mocha style because it's light with a hint of chocolate rather than rich. Lunch: I also tried their lunch options here before and everything I tried was super good. I tried their curry, fried calamari, mushroom dish and other dishes. All good. I can't fault it. Priced are around ~€20 for lunch options. In short, I would go for lunch or dinner, not really breakfast unless it's for coffee.

I ALWAYS begin with behari kebab which is served with a yoghurt as it is quite spicey.. with a side of freshly prepared cucumbers and side salad. This is simply delicious, if you aren't into spicey food there is other options too so don't worry too much!! For a main course, I usually opt for chicken tikka masala as it is a classic and it is simply DELICIOUS! The dishes are served in beautiful red pots with lids, so there is no rush or worry on your food going cold as the pots prevent it from doing so! If you are booking, I do reccomend you to ask for a window seat as it is the most beautiful view ever- Clontarf and if you're really lucky you could be watching the local boats of Clontarf Yacht and Boat Club out sailing in their dinghies or cruisers. So, if you're coming from town you can hop on the 130 from Lower Abbey Street and it will stop right outisde Kinara Restaurant. I guarantee, once you dine here you will want to go back straight away as the food is AH-MAY-ZING! The staff are so friendly and polite and are there if you need advice on the menu. To finish- if you are there for dinner, they do really goood desert cocktails (i've never tasted them so relying on my sisters experience) , if you're not into an alcoholic desert they do these amazing traditional Indian drinks called Mango Lassi's! Hope this is helpful, and definitely the best Indian Restaurant in Ireland. Plus they've two other restaurants- one in Ranelagh and one in Malahide.

The staff, although kept us waiting for a while when we came in before they approached us were super friendly, even had a bit of banter with them and are willing to put a dish together if you don't see anything you fancy on the menu. For starters we shared crispy duck with pancakes, there was so much duck, cooked to perfection and with the trimmings and sauce, delish. For mains there was green curry, which was gorgeous, really rich and not spicey, schewzan prawns, roasted duck and I got the crispy shredded chicken.. By far the nicest chicken I've had in a long time. We were too full for desert, and even took a large doggie bag home, their portions are immense! Will definitely be back to try more dished

Our waiter was Alan and he was very attentive and on top of things. I especially appreciated the food warmers that were underneath our main dishes. One of the foods I was particularly impressed with was the hot and sour soup. I found it very delicious and filling which was perfect for a cold night. I probably could've made a meal out of that alone. It was full but not packed. Parking was a little tricky but we were able to find a spot. We got a good amount of food and were able to take home leftovers.

We started with the smoked cod croquette and the bread/hummus. I thought the croquettes had great flavor and was a great way to start off the meal. However, for entrees, I had the duck breast but it was cooked way too rare for my liking. The meat was hard to cut through and the hazelnut "garnish" also overpowered the dish. With all that being said, there was a very cute ambiance to the restaurant.

Home for the weekend my folks decided that we just had to go. So we headed there in a Sunday afternoon about 3:30 and were on time for their brunch sitting which goes until 4. We were able to get a table without a booking right in the bright window. The menu was wonderful. More Linner than brunch to me! I went with the aubergine, sour dough bread, pesto and goats cheese while my sister went for duck confit with grape quinoa and orange. We then swapped half over as we were so excited to taste multiple dishes. My folks both went for steak and chips which looked divine. The food was all delicious. There was a decent amount but the plates were not overloaded and afterwards I felt full but not stuffed -content! My parents went for desserts and they were excellently presented and apparently very good. The decor is cute. There's many prints with a Clontarf or Pigeon House theme. The exposed pipe work and old fashioned light bulbs work really well with the oily green paint. The windows let in loads of light which makes the place very comfortable to sit in but not too bright. The staff were lovely, very friendly and attentive. Overall, it's a lovely restaurant and I'm definitely demanding to come here each time I'm home!

Why they called it The Bram Stoker I have no idea, once you stepped inside there was nothing to do with Bram to be seen. Anyway, the batman, who I would think was the owner, was very friendly and I ordered a beer. But when I asked about ordering the chicken wings he said he would get some one to come down to me. As it turns out there is a restaurant, called Indigo, down the back of the pub and they cover all the food orders for the pub. It took quite a few mins before she appeared, though she was very friendly. The 'large buffalo wings' left a lot to be desired, they were not large by any sense of the word. I went with the BBQ sauce as she informed me, when I asked, that 'Franks sauce' contained Tabasco. They were alright but they weren't going to fill me up for the night. Before the waitress had come down to me I had asked the barman if he had any newspaper I could read. He said he was sorry he didn't but offered me a tourism magazine he had at the end of the bar. (it was in pristine condition and I would say had only been open a few times) After news, tourism would be my next best read in a pub... And I always like to know what Bord Failte are spewing to the tourists, what crap is m***pages.ie? :p Anyway I digress, finished the food and tried looking for the bill, going to the bar as I couldn't see the young lady, and was informed she would be sent down.... Another few minutes later. All in all the pub and barman were very nice and welcoming, the food delivery situation - and the food itself - leave a bit to be desired. Come in here for a quite pint if you are tired walking along the Coast Rd path..... You can't miss the big sign.

The rooms are very basic - no luxury here, no sir. Hard mattresses, 80's furniture. The afternoon we checked in, a dog in the neighbor's yard (the rooms face a row of residential back yards) barked nonstop for two hours when we were trying to take a nap. The staff seemed baffled when we told them, and not particularly helpful. The staff is the hotel's main weakness. There was a very unfriendly woman waiting tables when we went down to the restaurant and our waiter was an absolute snot. He made it more than clear, waiting on us was a big hassle for him. The reason I give the hotel a three is they have a beautiful, inviting restaurant and a surprisingly great craft beer selection. If they can upgrade the rooms to match the restaurant and fire the rude staff, they might have something.
