For a local Chinese restaurant, Hin Keng is really as good as it gets. I've been going here since…read moreit opened and it is our first port of call for family celebrations; birthdays, graduations, confirmations, the lot! The staff, headed by Thomas, come to know you by name and the food is unfailingly good. The menu is a mouth-watering mix of traditional Asian cuisine and more Westernised recipes so, everyone in your party is sure to find something they like. For starters, order the Smoked Shredded Chicken and ask for a side of sweet and sour sauce for dipping (There has never been any extra charge for this in my experience). For mains, the Chilli Beef is impeccable, as is the Chi Chi Chicken. Opt instead for the Fried Noodles and Mixed Vegetable Stir Fry as sides; you'll be glad you did. As with most Chinese restaurants (and restaurants in general now that I think about it), desserts are bought in and, really, aren't worth the money. Instead, opt for an extra side or starter to share. More often than not, you'll be offered a complimentary drink when you request the bill. This gives you a welcome opportunity to sit back, relax and let your food baby shrink! A standard meal for two people including a bottle of wine tends to hit around €80. Not at all bad for a fresh, flavourful and MSG-free meal!

I often try other restaurants but regret not going to Hin Keng, Tommy makes everyone very welcome and the complimentary round of drinks when you are finished is the icing on a perfect evening. Can not recommend Hin Keng highly enough. Go here, you will love it. Book early though, it can be difficult to get a table as it is so popular.

Raheny Chinese Take Away - Wow...that's a lot of Singapore Noodles! I'm a Fan! Definitely get your money worth.

Ambience. B Service. B…read moreFood. A Price. A+ Found in the village Raheny next to a garage. Clean ordering area with a couple of bench seatings. No tables. Brightly lit and you can call or walk-in or they have delivery for TakeAway Only. Can get busy, albeit this was Friday, more cooks in kitchen and front help avail around 8 pm. Staff greets and wears a mask... a little hard understanding sometimes, so make sure you always repeat or listen to what you ordered. My order was ready within 20 mins. They'll keep food in a warming case until you pickup. Today ordered aromatic duck starter. €11.50 It's perfect today chopped in fine chunks and strips with the skin. Accompanied with 6-8 pancakes? And julienne carrots, green onions and cucumber. With side hoisin sauce. Make your own delish pancake duck roll. Requested not to overcook which could dry out the duck? It was moist today. For first time, tried the roast duckling dish with plum sauce. It was aromatic plum sauce gravy with chunks pineapples. The 1/4 of the duck €8.70 was moist and had nice fatty and some crunchy darkened skin. I think I would rather have any of the roast ducklings options with sauces on side in future to keep the duck skin more crispy. With A side of egg fried rice. This made a perfect meal for 2. The Singapore curry rice noodles with pork and small shrimp was perfect as I asked for extra curry and they obliged which I enjoyed the dish more spicy. €9 A side of egg fried rice noodle is good to have to accompany the roast duckling saucy dish. €2.80 You get your money worth. OH. You're lucky Raheny. The prices are great here! They've only gone up 1 euro in 7 years! Keep eating here often to keep those prices low! Today I'm a fan!

This is my local Chinese and I order it maybe once a month...ok maybe more....! It's great for when…read moreyou're hungover or just too wrecked to cook, they're just down the road form me and they deliver it really quick! One time I rang them, left to go to the pass machine and it was at my apartment by the time I got back! I've always found the food really good - I usually go for a chow mein or maybe chicken friend rice, but the last time I ordered it, the food wasn't great. But, it's been good more times than it's been bad, so I'm going to let them have an off day! What I like most about it is that there's no minimum order with them - if I'm ordering on my own (boo hoo me) it usually comes to less than a tenner, and some places are fussy about the minimum amount of food you can order.

My lovely fiancee has already written about Wongs as our default Chinese take away, but since I am…read morethe one always pushing for Chinese food I figured I would weigh in. The food here is of good quality - it is not the best take away Chinese food I have ever had, but it is good enough to keep me going back. Their portions are generous, the meat actually tastes like meat (yes I have had this issue) and the quality of the staple dishes is very good (Kung Po. Curry, Satay etc.) Some highlights: Their fried noodles are closer to the vermicelli style than the Lo Mein style (which I prefer) and are well cooked and very tasty - worth trying on their own before using as a side dish. The Singapore fried rice (and equivalent noodles) are nicely spicey without going overboard - if this is your type of dish you will not be disappointed. The Chicken balls are very good - fluffy batter, not too oily and far too tempting to eat just-one-more. Delivery - super fast! While I lived in the US I had a craving for "proper" Chinese take out (east coast Chinese food was, in my experience, very poor) - Wongs satisfies that craving, perhaps a little too well :)
