This was always my go to cafe for the longest time. I used to come here twice a week at one time, but now I try to stop by whenever I am in town. I came in a couple months back and had a couple beers plus chips, queso, and pico de gallo with my girlfriend and it never disappoints. I had a local IPA and a Porter. My girlfriend, new to craft beers had a local cider and she loved it. Their staff is always nice and friendly and do their job very well. Thanks for always providing excellent service. This place should be the template for what most cafes strive to become. They have the right amount of everything you want and need. *The atmosphere is so chill and the building is warm and inviting and at times they have live music or open mic which is always great *Great beer selection between bottles and cans and with many local state breweries on tap and they are always rotating taps between breweries and the seasons *Their menu has just enough but not an overwhelmingly amount of foods but exactly what you need to pair well with a great beer or latte and not feel full *Their lattes and cappuccinos here are top notch and some of my favorites ever *Their employees over the years have always been wonderful and friends at certain points in time I love this place and always will. Bitter coffee...bitter Barista. If the saying "You are what you eat " rings true for you, be careful here because every drink is made with a splash of hate. Imagine wanting to support a local coffee shop and tipping the baristas generously every day for weeks...only to have someone roll their eyes every time you walked in....Im sorry I ordered coffee....at your coffee shop! For a progressive, adorably decorated, independent shop with a loyal following...I can't believe how much they had against me and my group of friends, just for being out of towners. We spend a collective $500 a week here and we were made to feel like more of an Inconvenience than a valued guest. As a former barista myself, and a progressive creative who has really struggled for my craft my entire life...I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. But when Im made to feel like I have wronged somebody just for asking them to do thier job, and paying them well for it...It makes me feel like I'm being held hostage until my coffee comes out. My barista never filled my cup all the way, and snapped at me when I asked her to top it off. She charged me extra to add a little splash. I don't mind paying more, but don't mentally abuse me in the process. It's just coffee girl!! I don't know...I just think that Oatmilk lattes with a sprinkle of resentment, Locally made muffins with a dirty look on the side...and Light Ice followed by a "don't let the door hit you in the @$$ on the way out " type of mentality....kinda adds up to getting the day off to the wrong start... I will say we did have great customer service from a handful of other employees...but that one bad apple was something we actually dreaded when we were choosing our coffee each morning . Too bad. So I'd like end this review with a karma clearing public apology. I'm sorry I shopped at your place. I apologize for making a request that was out of your comfort zone, I am sorry I really tipped you a lot for it, and I regret spending hundreds of dollars there in patronage for a few weeks. It must have really Irked you to have to work hard. Nobody on the other side of that counter would relate to that. You've heard of hole-in-wall places, but this one is literally a door in the wall. You will question if more than 10 people can fit inside, but don't let that keep you out. The entrance way is a touch narrow, but once you pass the ordering area it opens up! Tables, comfy chairs, a group gathering space. Yep, all just past that tiny door. I found myself up that way last summer and of course I quickly sought out somewhere to enjoy quality coffee. In conversation with another artist, he mentioned Joe and upon seeing the Yelp photos I knew where I would be spending the next few hours. If you're a visitor like myself, know there is free parking at the end of the block (going downhill) on the left. Also, take the time to walk around the quaint downtown area. Now about Joe's. This is truly a coffee shop and bar in one. And since there's a full food menu, also a cafe. You will find something to eat and sip no matter what time of day. I of course ordered my go-to, an Americano. I settled into a chair with the vantage point of three people playing Monopoly, two others sketching, a couple flirting at the bar, and what appeared to be a family gathering taking place in the larger room. There are board games and books to borrow, local art on the wall for purchase, and plenty of cool Joe schwag to take home (including beans). The Americano was perfection in a cup. The bean, roast, and pull were some of the best you will find. About halfway through it, I saw someone with their house made cinnamon bun. Talk about envy in your heart! But alas I opted for a seasonal latte so I could take it and walk around the downtown. I know they've been around for a few years, and I hope they're around for many more. read more

Awesome coffee get away. It is a little hole-in-the-wall place that developed somewhat of a cult following for Stonetower Brewing for coffee and beer. There is another location in Bridgeport, WV called Stonetower Brewing. The service is good although it can occasionally take a minute to get your drinks. But that is acceptable, since the quality is deep and flavorful. They're also extremely nice. The tables are clean most of the time and taken care of. Give it a try! read more

Tucked away in a nook in downtown Fairmont, this coffee shop is as advertised! Great selection of coffee and merch, and even beers! I had a caramel latte and it was totally worth the (short) wait!!! read more

Always on the hunt for great coffee and if you're in the area, this is the place. Service was friendly but the coffee was the star here. It was good enough that I bought a few bags for home as well. Great little coffee shop vibe going on with lots of local art for sale. This place is also a beer bar so you can come back for lunch which we did. Food is pretty good. read more

How am I just finding out about this wonderful place?? They have so much going on- coffee, pottery classes, beer, and more! Some friends and I came in for coffee and a pottery class on Friday. They were pretty busy on the coffee shop side, but the class was just the three of us. For the coffee side of the house- they have the cutest menu for their specialty lattes!! They have a large selection of food and drinks, but we just came for the pottery and coffee. I decided to have the fair mounds latte because it sounded good and I couldn't pass up on that great pun! It was delicious, warm, and packed with coconut and chocolate flavors. Really great coffee. The atmosphere was pretty great too. They have quiet a bit of seating and some board games to play if you're looking to hang out for a while. Fun little gem in downtown Fairmont. read more

This is a great coffee shop. One of the few that not only uses high quality beans, but also make a rich, strong cup of black coffee. My wife loved the flavored cappuccino drinks, too. What a great find! First, the smell of coffee when you walk in is amazing! Second, the pottery class was so much fun. I love that you start with a flat piece of clay and you get to do what you want, so creative. Carol was our instructor and she was wonderful. You don't have to be an artist, you just need to have an idea of what you want to end up with. Carol helps you along the way, giving ideas and suggestions. My boyfriend took me here on our first date so obviously I'm a little biased, however it is a really amazing place! They have pottery classes and they sell art from local students. The drinks are a little pricey but they're worth every penny. I usually don't like hot drinks, but I got a mocha with whipped cream and it was delicious. They make really cute latte art too! 10/10 recommend. read more

I love the coffee here, it's a nice quite place to sit and chat for a few hours. Vince and I go here to talk about books when he is in town.

We love this place, and make it a point to go every time we are in town. The coffee is excellent, the place is very cute and comfortable, and there is always an interesting menu of munchies. They also have great local beers on tap, book and games to spend time with and local pottery and artwork for sale. The only advice I would give them is to get a griddle or fryer to add some variety to the menu, like fries or breakfast sandwiches. But they're still awesome anyway. read more

I went here for the first time this afternoon I absolutely would not recommend it. To start off due to religious reasons I don't eat pork products and I asked if it was possibly to change the ham to turkey on one of the 3 sandwiches they offer. Was told no because they are "premade". Then she comes out of the room where they make the food and asked someone else if what she was holding in her hand was the correct cheese for the simple grilled cheese I ordered (which was dry and not fully melted cheese). Which means they aren't "premade" if she had to cut it. The person I was with got a sandwich that was also not worth it because it had 3 ingredients on dry bread. I do not recommend going here unless you want mediocre and overpriced service for dry bread and a couple things slapped on it. Over read more

I got to Fairmont State, and I've gotta say this is a staple coffee shop in our area for college students. My friends and I go there at least once a week, and the environment is amazing. The coffee is always good, and so are the cinnamon rolls and muffins. The baristas are nice and most of the time if they're not busy bring the coffee to where you're sitting. They also have pottery Tuesday and Thursdays. Such a nice little place to visit!! read more
