If you're not heading to this store for fabric, don't go. I've shopped this location for years and have never seen such a quick decline. The scrapbook/planner area is pretty unshoppable most of the time now. It feels like a hurricane has blown through and wiped the little product available off the pegs and flown around everywhere. It's sad and, I hope, if JoAnns is bought, the new owners can turn this around. I also came here after work one day, this Joann's is close to my work but far from my house. I payed and the employee didn't bag my stuff fully. I left with one bag thinking he put all of it in one bag because it was a foot of two fabrics and thread. Well I had to drive down on my day off . Again. So newbie Quilter here. I was overwhelmed when I walked in not quite sure what I was getting. Taking a beginners class end of month, just told staff and they jumped right in to assist. Joann's Fabric and Crafts on 8195 W Bell Rd M-3, Peoria, AZ is getting more and more trashy every time I go there. You'll find one cashier ( or two I you're lucky) with a long line of customers waiting. If you are needing help...good luck. I purchase jewelry beads for my custom Jewelry business and have been so disappointed in the upkeep of that area. For example, your website listed 7 butterfly charms. I found none! I started looking in the bins of $2.99 Hidden Treasures. None were there. However, I did find (I counted) over 100 strands of beads and at that time the strung beads were 50% off. I also found seed beads, pendants, paintbrushes, thread, sewing tools, etc. I had time on my hands so separated the strung beads by color to help make it easier for the staff to put them on the wall. I asked for a manager and was shocked by two things: 1) the very young manager had purple hair (no big deal) but she had a large black nose ring attached to both nostrils that hung down in front of her mouth, a stud embedded in both corners of her mouth plus in other locations on her face. She was wearing jeans with a lot of holes. Personally, a person hired to be a manager should dress more appropriately, more professionally, and leave her very large hanging nose ring at the door which she can put back on when her shift is done. 2) she wasn't interested or cared that I pulled all of the strands to help them put them back on the pegs where they belong for customers to purchase. Instead, she put all the colors together in one pile and said she'd take them to the front to the restocks. She added that Joanns is behind in doing the restocks. She also said that corporate is responsible for the bins being located there; and therefore, they become a catchall for anything and everything. She really had an "I don't care" attitude. I started asking other customers every time I went into Joanns what they thought of how it's looking... All said it is getting junkier, with merchandise on the floor everywhere and missing in lots of places. No one is present to help and the attitude of those who are working is terrible. No one seems to be smiling and helpful except for two gals (a younger gal with dark hair and an older gal with short hair) in the cashier area and one of the managers (whom I talked to and she agreed with me but said she is in the minority). I forgot their names, sorry. The ladies' bathroom really reeked and is disgusting. No amount of room freshener will help. It needs a sanitizing, bleach cleaning. I worked at Stein Mart and every night we took turns doing just that in both bathrooms and Joann needs to do it. I ended up going to 5 Joann's to find the 5 butterfly charms I needed. Every one of them was the same... the $2.99 Hidden Treasures bins were on the lower shelf under the strung beads and were filled with everything under the sun. A customer could really make a good case for getting a $15.99 strung bead for $2.99 as that's where she found it! I recently spent a month in Edina, MN, and went to their Joann's store. Though a lot of their store was also closer to the junky end of the scale, the $2.99 bins were not on that lower shelf. It was empty! I asked for a manager, and she explained that they found an area for which they did not have a planogram due to its location behind a support post. Corporate approved their putting the bins there. Personally, Joann's is losing a lot of good business due to their poor upkeep of merchandise, lack of employees, and not helping customers. (for example, when I was sorting the bins looking for the butterfly charms an elderly customer came up to me and asked for help. I sadly said I didn't work there. She said she had walked around the store two times and found no one to help her.) I know that Hobby Lobby is in a different category than your store so cannot be compared (per the purple hair manager), but you should take a"field trip" thru there and observe the employees, the cashiers, the neat and tidy arrangement of merchandise, need I go on. You are hurting yourself and will pay a price for it sooner than you realize. I should have taken more photos as other areas are even worse than these and there's a lot of merchandise on the floor everywhere! I applied two months ago to work at Joann's in this store but got nowhere. I know you need people who care to get it back in ship shape before it sinks. Just saying. read more

Terrible customer service by the lady in the cutting center. I had never been there before and I didn't quite understand how they went about cutting the fabrics as I am barely trying to get into sewing. She proceeded to explain in a very snarky attitude how their cutting process works and looked me up and down when I replied that I was making a small plushie. read more

Favorite Joanns ive been to in a while and felt really stocked in here, hardly and empty shelves.

This location needs some management attention. There has been multiple occasions that I have gone where there are never enough people working- one day I came in and there was 3 people working for the whole store. It's impossible to get any help. They're careless when cutting fabric and I have gone home multiple times with fabric that was cut far too short or completely messed up. The bathroom is always absolutely disgusting and is what finally prompted me to write a review in hopes that things will change. The lack of employees means that the store is usually always in disarray. I get that times are hard and employees just don't work like they used to but Joann as a corporation needs to understand that these things are still important to consumers and there is a lot of room for improvement at this location. read more

i call and they confirmed the product i was looking for was there but in the back room and the associate said theyd put it on hold for me. i showed up and it wasnt on hold and they got upset about havi bc to go look in the back for it. after waiting awhile i said id just place an online pickup to give them more time and then they cancelled the order pickup. horrible service read more

This store needs help. Roselei (spelling may be different) is one angry elf. This is the 2nd time she has cut fabric for me. She is rude and not helpful. If you want her to check if a fabric is available at another store you need to ask her. She doesn't volunteer to help at all. She tries to ignore dirt or flaws on fabric when it's obvious she has seen them. She doesn't like her job and it shows in her interactions with customers. When I went to check out I waited a long time. My husband went to sit in the car. There were at least 25 people in line with one cashier. The cashier apologized to the customers and said he was the only cashier. This store needs immediate attention. read more

Always great service I really like this Josnn's location. This location seems to have a larger selection than most. The staff are friendly and always helpful. After many months not going to Joann's located at 1717 N Dysart, Avondale Arizona due to poor condition of store I went there today 1-23-24. I notified Joann's long ago with notes to customer service advising them of the store condition and I also spoke to a customer service representative. I received a form letter thanking me. Today the store was filthy and in such disarray it's hard to believe they can remain in business. The restroom's need to be condemned. I wonder what has happened to this location. read more

I am sad to wright this review because I absolutely love this store but after my experience today I will travel elsewhere. I was inquiring about a product I was told was in stock the first time I called the lady forgot about me 30 minutes later leading me to call back. I got a gentleman who confirmed that yes they have it in stock so I ordered it for pick up then I got an email that it was not in stock anymore. I called the store to confirm and spoke with a "supposedly manager" Penny who was very rude and brushed me off not evening giving me the time of day! Worst part I drove to the store and guess what "they had my PRODUCT"!!!!! I supposed they were too busy not to even bother looking! read more

The manager, Jennifer, at this store is an idiot. She doesn't even know the sales and then she proceeded to argue with me about it and tell me I was wrong. It wasn't until I got out the mailer and showed it to her. And then she said to me, "so it's supposed to be free?" I put in an order for fabric and it was canceled. So I called the next morning to talk to somebody to see what was going on because I found it online saying it was in the store. I placed another order that was canceled again and when I called to see what happened they said they couldn't find it. For my troubles, a nice lady offered to price match fabric for one that was a different brand but similar color. All I had to do was go in and check it out. the next morning I went in and it was perfect, I loved the color more than the original. Sure enough she price matched it to what I was going to pay and I happily walked out and worked on a dress. read more

I like this JoAnn store, I'm giving it 2 stars because today when I was there, an older female employee was repeatedly coughing into her bare hand at the register, then handling purchases and credit cards without washing or using hand sanitizer. Purchased some bulk fabric the other day and showed the girl my 20% coupon on my email and she proceeded to tell me that was for online only, which it wasn't and refused to take it. This JoAnn's location never has enough cashiers to check out, so there is always a long wait no matter when I've gone in. It feels dirty, like it needs a good cleaning. It's been renovated and the store has been moved around, NOW the aisles are VERY narrow, as in only one shopping cart can fit at a time. JoAnn's in general feels very generic and nothing special, I go in needing a craft Item, but usually leave empty handed. Overpriced even with a sale or coupon. They have a decent fabric selection, but other stuff is just meh. The employees seem friendly. read more

I just can't say enough about how rude the staff is here. I will glady pay twice as much not to shop here. I have given them multiple chances. I recently went in and waited for 10 minutes at the counter (you have to get a number to ask a question because nobody patrols the store to help people) and get to the counter and ask if they have a similar fabric to what I am holding. The lady shakes her head and says "No, No, nope, we don't!". Right behind her is a big sign that says how great their special order program is. Obviously this would be too much for this lady. I went to Hobby Lobby, bought the fabric and actually wound up paying less for a higher qualify fabric. My daughter has taken up sewing and she will not be getting fabric here. read more

I don't typically shop for fabric, that's something my wife does but I happen to need some material to upholster and after looking around online found out JoAnns had it. I was surprised to see how many options they have and for what I needed the quality and selection were good. I would say that the staffing was limited and the cashier wasn't very friendly but since I'm used to shopping at hardware stores it was pretty normal. Placed three orders using the curbside pickup due to the covid19 virus and in a high risk category. The first one was a Saturday around 11:00 in the morning and most of the order was canceled but, the items were in stock still online. I did get an email around 6:30 in the evening stating my order was ready which wS understandable they maybe busy. I did call twice to check on my order and the CS was extremely rude. The second time I placed the order earlier and received it the same day, nothing was canceled. The third order was placed at 4:00 am figuring that they may be able to get some of what I need timely before it was no longer in stock. Nope called received same type of rudeness from CS. We have over 40 orders that we are working on and we will get to you when we can. We will call your that never had happened yet. Looked on the app and the most critical item needed is already out of stock or limited and not available to order online anymore. So frustrating. I advise not going to this Joann's during this Covid19 Crisis they are not helpful or understanding !!! read more

Heather that works in the fabric section is awesome!!! I told her my plan with some fabric and she gave me useful tips and what to stay away from. I have been purchasing things from joanns for many years, in different locations and this one has by far the worst customer service and poor quality of products that I have ever seen. I think corporate needs to know. I went to purchase some candy melts only to find that the candy inside was moldy Gray and basically unusable. I brought it to the attention of a clerk who didn't seem to care and just nodded his head and told me to go to the store manager. When I told the store manager she also didn't seem to care and said that's how they send it to us. I was appalled that nobody was smart enough to know not to put it on the shelf because this is unusable chocolate and needs to be sent back to the vendor... I know these may not be college-educated individuals but come on, a manager not to have even the most common sense to know when a product is damaged? read more

I went to Jo-Ann yesterday in hopes of finding a nice lace trim for my wedding invitations. There was a good selection to choose from, but they didn't have the quantity that I needed. Whitney, a sales associate in the cutting department, helped me to place a special order for the remaining lace trim that I needed. The deal on the lace trim was already good, but to make it even better, Whitney went out of her way to let me know that I could download an app on my phone to access the current coupons that Joa-Ann had for the week. Whitney saved me 40% on my lace! The staff was very friendly--I wish I would have gone to Jo-Ann sooner! read more

I love JoAnn's, but I'm highly disappointed with my experience today. It's 100 degrees outside and they have people waiting in the sun outside to go in, though none of the other JoAnn's are implementing this due to the temperatures outside. Once inside, there are no numbers for counting and a line with only one person cutting. The bathrooms were disgusting, 2 live bugs in the one I went in and no soap in either. While it's understandable to have some hiccups during this time, this store was a million times better 2 weeks ago during the big slam of people. Very disappointing. read more

WORST customer service! I understand businesses are busy at this time. I work too. We're all busy. What's not okay is this customer service. Whoever picks up the phone should be banned from picking up the phone. I didn't even finish my sentence before I was cut off with an "Oooook. Just check your email. It takes 3-4 days". What? First of all, they didn't take my order date, ask for any of my order information- nothing. We do buy online pick up in store too! NEVER takes that long even with 80 orders a day. I could've just ORDERED it online instead of giving my money to this store instead, and I wish I had! I was silent because I was so in SHOCK of the customer service and the attitude. I know I sound like a Karen right now, but I've never written a review in my life until now. I felt so disrespected. I wish I never gave $300 to this place! Last time I did buy online pick up in store, no ID was checked. Just said I bought a planner and was handed it with attitude. This whole place should be replaced with nicer people. read more

The lines to check out and at the cutting table are ridiculous! They will have employees stocking shelves, and the lines will be 5-6 people deep, and they don't seem to really care. I have waited in line in this particular store to check out for 20 minutes. What I thought would be a quick, run in and get what I want and get out, turned in to being a very frustrating experience! Two stars because the employees are extremely nice and helpful, but on several visits to this store there is always something going on. Fabrics out of place by customers, fabrics put of stock or not carried at all. They are still fairly new and currently undergoing construction again to make the store smaller. I will try again once this store has had more time to settle in; I want to say its a management issue. read more

Sadly when I reviewed before and said generally the employees were nice is no longer true. In fact while having fabric cut today, we went a head and took the rest of the bolt, I had to ask about the normal 50% discount and was told I hadn't asked for the fabric correctly. I apparently have to pretend I want less and then let them throw on the extra...Very odd. In my opinion if the bolt ends I get the discount simple as that. The one women cutting fabric also spent a good 15 minutes chatting with the customer in front of us (a regular it seemed) while we stood and waited. I really wish we had more fabric options out here. read more

Unreliable store and horrible customer service! Store closes at 9 I had parked at 8:50 got my stuff together and by the time I got to the door at 8:53 the employee locked in front of me and refused to let me stating they were closed even though I showed her the time and that they're suppose to close at 9 not 8:53. With employees like that I'd rather spend my time and money at Michaels or Hobby Lobby which I arrived at Michaels down the street at 8:59 and was greeted at the door with a welcome and how are you. Unlike Jo-Ann's I was able to get the piece of glitter paper I needed and was in and out in under 3 mins read more
