Our Westport CT home property needed a variety of tree services including pruning huge old oak trees, cutting down a dead poplar tree, and cutting down a screening row of eight 15-20' evergreen clusters which had become overgrown and unattractive. I carefully researched local tree services companies, looking at their websites, reading customer ratings and reviews from multiple sources, checking the Better Business Bureau of CT, and verifying the firm was certified and carried worker liability insurance. I requested an estimate from two firms, including JNP Tree Removal LLC (Bridgeport CT). JNP's website was clear and easy to navigate, and the primary focus was consistently on safety. This was a big positive for me. The owner, Jose Ruiz, answered my inquiry the same day and always responded in a timely manner to all my questions. He sent a contract which accurately reflected details of the exact work to be done and at pricing consistent with his estimate in person. The pricing was very reasonable. (I never heard back from the other company!) Jose started the project two days after I signed the contract. I asked what time they would arrive in the morning (8-9am) and about how long the job would take (2-3 days). The team was on time (8am) and the work was completed on schedule (2 days). Jose was on our property working with the full team most of the first day, and stopped by regularly on the second day to see how everything was going and whether I had any questions or comments. Jose and the others were all polite, friendly and extremely professional. When Jose was off-site I directed my questions to Jayson who was also great. They both provided consistent professional opinions when asked, and followed through on my requests to cut stumps closer to the ground, leave a few trimmed branches behind, and chip all of the remaining debris. When the team completed the job, they thoroughly cleaned up our whole yard (trees had been pruned all around the property). Jose asked me to walk the property and make sure all the agreed work was completed to my satisfaction before I made the second 50% payment. Being a first-time homeowner, have been shocked at how expensive it is to get trees removed b/c they are dying or sick, and are a safety hazard. I sent a request for quotes through Yelp, and Jose responded w/in 20 minutes, and within 2 hours he was at my house to give me a quote. Recently I had a very large tree removed from my front yard. The removal was challenging due to the fact that there were power lines from my home and my neighbor's home that were right next to the tree. Since it would have been nearly impossible to use a boom lift, JNP had a climber take down the tree piece by piece, with ground support from three workers. It took five hours from start to finish, including a thorough cleaning of brush and saw dust. They worked very safely and avoided any damage to the power lines. Lastly, I had quotes from two other companies. Both offered a price of over $4,600.00. JNP did the complete job for $2,300.00. This was my third time using JNP. We needed some trees removed that were blocking the light from our yard, and one very large tree that was leaning over our house. Jose came out very quickly to do an estimate and was even able to start the job within 48 hours of giving us the quote. All the other places we contacted weren't able to come out (just for the quote) until well after Jose and his team had finished. The price was very reasonable, and we were extremely happy with their work. They arrived around 8:30 in the morning and had four of the smaller trees down before 9 a.m. They ended up taking down about 10-12 trees (ranging from small to very large), and cleaned up so well you'd barely know we had anything done.
