It started with a simple quote. Peter came out soon after I asked for a quote, and right off the bat he emitted a strong knowledge of tree service. This is probably because they are a certified arborist, and that gave me confidence that they would prune/trim a tree while keeping it healthy for the long term. I had a neighbors oak tree encroaching into my yard toward my home. I wanted it trimmed back. I also wanted 2 small dogwoods with stumps removed. Peter explained exactly what they'd do. The quote was reasonable, I setup an appointment. Tanya, who setup the details of the appointment was excellent at communicating with me, sending me numerous status updates emails during the weeks prior to the appointment, letting me know about any possible day shift due to weather. Amazing communication. The day of, she called to let me know the guys were on the way. When Peter and the crew arrived, they came with 3 huge trucks, a full crew of ~ 5 people, and tons of professional equipment. They certainly came prepared and on time (early actually). Peter remembered exactly what I had asked for, and I respect that because I'm sure they're busy and it was over a month since he came out for the quote. He pointed out to the crew which branches to cut, etc, consistent with the branches that he originally told me at the time of the quote. There were no surprises. The job proceeded. One guy in a bucket truck went ahead trimming the oak tree, and the others got right to work with the 2 dogwoods. They worked fast. You could tell they've done this before. One tree was encroaching on the utility line to my home, and that worker was careful not to disrupt the lines. When the job was done, they cleaned up. In regards to the stump removal, I had that done by someone else in the past and that person left a total mess. Comparing this job to that old job from another tree service, White Hills cleaned the remains from the stump removal very well, which made it easy for me to toss some grass seed down with little additional work for me. Overall, this is a long review, but I will absolutely recommend White Hills to family and friends, and will absolutely use them whenever I'm in need of tree service. The result was an open, neater landscape with a lot more sunshine and space for the long unused vegetable garden. He arrived when he said he would to review the work. As we walked around the property he listened to what I wanted, made very good suggestions for things I had not considered and gave me a feeling of confidence that he knew the subject matter. Took months to get the job done, left my lawn completely torn up, and when…read morethey said "we'll cut up the wood for you to use as firewood", they meant "we'll leave many gigantic cross sections of tree trunk on your driveway that you'll need to get a log splitter for." I'm spending tons of extra money after the fact repairing my lawn and getting additional equipment to cut up wood, not to mention spending hours upon hours doing all of this. All because this guy offered a "deal" to work for cash. I should have know it would be left like this. When I first called him after a large portion of tree fell from a storm, he told me he would be here in a matter of days. 1 week and three phone calls later, he rings my doorbell, saying he drives by my house every day and that he has a tree service if I am interested in his services to clean it up and take down the remainder of the tree. Guy can't even keep his clients straight!
