I drive around 22000 miles a year so it's somewhat expected to replace my windshield every 1 to 1.5 years due to highway rocks and debris. In the last 6 years of owning my G37 Sedan, everyone from front end to the technician have done well to meet my particular needs. Specifically, I really have found that the OEM windshield can be low quality and that the best brand for my specific car is Pilkington. Knowing this, they assured me that they could get that and supported this choice. As the system typically accounts for consumers that simply throw any aftermarket windshield on as an insurance replacement, it can be tricky to work within the system to get the best available option, but this location has done very well with keeping me updated, notifying me of any delays, and making sure that my schedule has minimal interruptions. All jobs that they have done for me have been great with exception to one that did not seal properly, which they resolved without issue. Definitely recommend going in with an understanding with what you want, how your policy works, and accounting for logistical delays. Also recommend doing in the shop instead of mobile, especially during extreme weather like heat or cold to optimize the work environment for the technician. Their mobile jobs are still good though. read more

Holy cats! Teh suxor couldn't be worse! Living on a narrow, overcrowded road in Somerville (street parking) was not good for my '95 Ford Escort POS. Just a month into living in my new digs, some drunken assface threw a beer bottle through my back windshield. He or she must have been in a moving car when they did this, because it obliterated the glass. There was nothing left. I called J.N. Phillips, and they arrived quickly and got the job done. 'Not so bad,' I thought. Nuh uh. I'll admit that maybe it was dumb that I didn't inspect my trunk for the next six months. But well, I didn't change apartments and I didn't have any bodies to hide, so I didn't feel the need to check the back carriage out. Fast forward to the dead of winter, when I discovered a flat tire. I opened the trunk to dig out my spare, and gasped in horror. The trunk was filled with a good two feet of solid ice. My spare tire lay suspended in the frozen matrix like some ill placed modern art display. Of rubber. The child who installed my rear windshield after my car's vandalism didn't seal the glass correctly. As a result all rainwater and melted snow seeped into my trunk. As the weather cooled it froze into the mess I discovered when I needed to access my spare. Yep, some of this is my fault for not catching it sooner. But I trusted the J.N. Phillips dude! It seems like I experienced some sort of anomaly, as other Yelpers seem to dig J.N. Still, I have to relate my experience. Sealants are great things, and they should be used liberally. Hell, I'll happily mix that stuff in with my toothpaste. Not really. I'll never trust J.N. Phillips again. If some frat dope messes with my car again, I'll go to those guys with the stupid jingle that gets stuck in my head. J.N. Phillips was fast. They were courteous. I just want to say this place is great. I will save you the very lengthy story, but my window fell out after having it "fixed" by Clear Auto Glass (my insurance called them, not me) . After the guy dodged my phone calls and any responsibility to come back and fix it, I called JN Phillips, told them my story and to see how much it would cost. They were so great on the phone and said that if I came in at that moment that they would take a look at it and would assess the problem and didn't imagine it would be more than $20 to fix. I came in right away and two guys worked on it together and in 10 minutes my window was re-installed. I went in to talk to the manager Teri to figure out how much I owed them. She said to not worry about it. I have become accustomed to and now expect really bad service and irresponsibility with service companies in Boston and I want to say thank you to Teri for making my day and proving me wrong. I am so so glad that I was referred to this place! I had a small chip in my windshield that wouldn't all me to pass the state inspection and so they referred me to this place to get it fixed and it couldn't have been easier! Not only were they amazingly fast in repairing the windshield during my appointment, but they also set up everything for me through my insurance company! I didn't have to call anyone, they did all of the calling for me! Amazing! That's my kind of place. It is rare for me to go and do something with my car and not feel like someone is trying to take advantage of me being a female, but this place is top notch, speedy workers and so friendly and approachable. Amazing service, turned around in less than a day. I put in an order on the website and within 2 minutes had a phone call to confirm and help setup the insurance claim. Put together a quick conference call between us three parties and within 10 minutes had a confirmed appointment for the next morning. As promised, they showed up on time, were courteous and even threw in a few small fixes such as fixing the washer fluid dispenser that had been broken! Easy scheduling, clean satifactory windshield replacement. Can't think of anything to deduct for. I used the in-shop service as it was raining out. I've used their field service option before too, and there were no issues. My insurance company (Commerce) suggested I use glassusa.com but their in-shop locations are fewer and further (for me anyway). My front windshield had a horizontal crack growing larger every day. got to about 2 feet in length. I found JN Phillips was close to me, so i decided to book an appointment. It was easy, you type in some information online and they call back to confirm the appointment. They also handle the insurance side, to see if the replacement will be covered. I was able to get it scheduled the next day. When i brought my car in, i was concerned about my parking permit and inspection stickers, but they said they handle removing them and placing them back on the new one. I also said i needed my windshield wiper blades replaced, and they said no problem. They seemed knowledgeable and they answered all the other questions I had for them. The job was done in an hour or so, the new windshield looked crystal clear, the stickers were back and looked great for being removed from another windshield. Terrible people to do business with. I had an appointment scheduled with them today (12:00 - 4:00 PM) and found out it was cancelled. I got a message in the morning asking if someone could come by earlier. I called back and spoke with Jeff, who said he would try and get the installer out to my address. I told him I was not at home , but would be there in 20 minutes. No one came, so I figured they would keep the original appointment. At the end of the appointment time window, 4:00 PM, I called and spoke with Jennifer, who said the appointment was cancelled. I said it shouldn't have been and to get it fixed. She then put me on hold and when she got back on, told me there was a problem getting the window and that the installer is picking it up and then heading to my address. 5 minutes later, Jeff called and said the regular installer was elsewhere and that he could send someone out right away, but with the caveat that the person was new and inexperienced. I told him that was unacceptable, and to send the experienced person. He said he could send the person early the next morning. I felt like I was lied to several times during this process. So my choices were to rely on inexperience, wait until the next day, or cancel the appointment. I cancelled and am going with Safellite. I don't know if it is the incompetence f this particular office in Arlington, or this is indicative of JNPhillips. But I would recommend avoiding this company. Paul Arlington, MA read more

In May 2014 I returned to my car, after walking trails with my dog, to find my window smashed and personal items stolen. It was a race to cancel cc's , call the bank and the the insurance company. I showed up to JN Philips auto glass in Arlington with nothing but an insurance approve code and need to have my window fixed before it began to pour rain (which was any minute). With no wallet and a young dog I also needed a ride home to cambridge which I graciously received. The window was repaired in just a couple hours and the glass that was all over my car was vacuumed up. I have a cracked windshield. My insurance company told me JN Phillips is the only company that could replace my windshield AND re-calibrate the front windshield camera sensors. When I called, after getting my car information, JN Phillips confirmed they had a "whole calibration team" who could take care of everything. I needed to wait about a week to wait for them to get the part and set up my appointment, On the day of the appointment, they were scheduled to arrive an hour after the appointment window. I then learned they did not have software to calibrate my windshield. I cancelled and started over with a company that so far seems to know what they are doing. I have wasted a vacation day and a lot of effort. I strongly suggest going anywhere else. read more

Had booked an 8:00 am appointment via Eastern Insurance. Was told I could drop off and pick up by 10-10:30 am, as I needed to get to work by 11:00 am. Upon arrival I was told they couldn't do it and it would not be ready until 11:00-11:30 am. Both J.N. Philips and Eastern Insurance wasted my time. I left and will take my business to competitor now. They we're not flexible, nor seemed to care I wasted my morning. Two stars is being kind! read more

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Scratched paint in multiple areas. (Didn't say anything to me) My biggest problem was that my windshield was installed incorrectly. To the point that I had GALLONS of water in my car after it rained. When I contacted my insurance company and manager from franklin office came to my house. He did tell us windshield was not installed correctly and there fault. So I was told to rent a vehicle and they would pay for it. Right now after about $3600.00 In car rental cost I still do not have check in hand. I have been told they are sending a check for 2900.00 so stuffing me about 700.00. Plus after 4 weeks I still don't have a car. Insurance involved now since mold is an issue and I don't want car back due to the amount of water damage they caused. So I don't have my car (2016 GMC ACADIA DENALI), no rental car because I'm not sure if it will really be paid for. I am paying my monthly lease payments and have nothing but a huge headache! I contacted over 3 weeks ago corporate office. I wanted to talk to owner. Was told no a regional manager will call me . I have his name but never got a call. Not surprised. This is the short version.... BUYER BEWARE! My installer was very nice but not properly trained. No call from anyone at the company to say sorry what can we do to fix this or help you. Just lies and sticking me with bills. At this point I have been without my car for a month. But I have to pay my lease payment. I've been told mold in car and should be totaled. JN Phillips contacted there insurance company aug 14th and even though my insurance has said I should have a rental paid by JN 's insurance of like size. I was driving near Mass Ave and one of my window glass wouldn't roll back up, probably something in the assembly broke. It was a cold day in single digit, drove over to JN phillips and requested help. A gentleman explained that it will be a longer job than a quick fix since they were completely booked for the day but he was kidn enough to fix the window with a temporary solution and I was back on the road. Did not charge me anything though he worked on it for atleast 10 minutes in the cold weather. Thank you very much ! My insurance company suggested these guys when a rock cracked my windshield. When I called, a very nice woman helped to set up my appointment. They could have replaced it the next day at my office, but I opted for Saturday morning instead. Best thing was that they came to my house to replace the windshield! No waiting room for me! I sat on my front steps, drinking coffee, while watching it get replaced. The service man was extremely friendly and answered all my questions about the process of replacing the glass. He wasn't even upset when I incorrectly told them what kind of windshield I had. He left and was back quickly with the right one! Not sure how much they charge, if you need to pay out of pocket, but for friendly & professional service, this place is worth calling! read more

They arrived at 2:28 (2:30 was the appointment time) and finished by 2:40! All I had to do was unlock the door and go back inside. They took care of everything and I was so satisfied. Following a minor issue with the glass having a manufacturing film, I'd reached out to see about getting the issue resolved. Again, the manager and staff called back the same hour of my feedback and scheduled to have the problem fixed the at my convenience. A vehicle kicked up a stone and cracked my windshield in the driver's sight of vision. Took my car to JN Phillips at Arlington and they handled everything. Jeff contacted my insurance, set up an in shop replacement time. Dropped off my car for the replacement and 90 minutes later my car was ready. The service was great and getting my window replaced was effortless. My windshield has a camera for lane departure warning and it works fine. All windshield stickers were replaced. They replaced my front windshield. They had wi-fi in the office (it was too cold out to replace at my workplace). I did had an issue with one of the new wiper blades the installed. When I brought it back they just replaced it with a new one. Would use them again. read more

They replaced my rear window, but not the rubber stripping that is supposed to go around it. When asked about this, they first said there is no weather stripping for this (but it's in the service manual, and on other cars). Then they said there is stripping, but it's optional and the insurance won't pay for it. (The insurance company said of course they'd pay for it.) Finally, when I showed up for a scheduled installation, they told me I was supposed to bring the parts. read more

This review below is extremely flawed as I know this situation. Keys were never left at all nor did anybody ever attempt to move the car. Vehicle is 15 years old an unfortunately his own mechanic stated it is wear n tear. Horrible. Was in hospital for a week. Set it up so they would call me when I got out. Instead called me when I was in the hospital and didn't when I was out. Wouldn't tint my window that is only tinted 20%. When they finally show up to change the glass the installer broke the new window and now I have to wait until the next day for it to be fixed. They never called to apologise or anything. Although I can not drive I could have used my truck but it has taken them week to get here to fix my truck. Never use them again . read more

i had very bad exp w/ this store ,after i left my key in the car ,some kind of thief came to change the front glass ,they tried to start the car for non reason may be to move the care to a different spot on the lot,i know,so when we came back ,the car was dead and they key engine broke the admission inside .now we only have to go to make them pay for it ,i advice any one ,not to go to them and ask for their manager (( matt )) for any work .i believe there's another review similar to this one ,you got to read before they destroy you car . the cost to to fix my car is............640.00$.thanks for the thieves . ps...they should call that store,(( the hit and run store ))............... read more
