Technician Matt very professional, and sent me text when they were on their way and the diagnosis of the problem. Luckily they had the motor part and scheduled for the next day. I'm sorry others have had a less than stellar experience with this repair company, maybe lessons learned and I'm the beneficiary of that improvement but I know my tenant is very happy with the service and timeliness of their repair visit. read more

Do not use this company. They came out to assess an issue with the air conditioner at a rental property I own. They never called to give a diagnosis, estimate, or timing. I called, left voice mails and text messages and they never returned any message. Ultimately ended up having to call another company. read more

This company was sent out by our home warranty company. They charged an $85 service call just to come out and take a few pictures. The home warranty company refused to cover based on the report from JM. When I called JM to get to the bottom of it, they told me that their report did not say it was not normal wear and tear, and recommended replacement. When the home warranty people called back they gave the opposite story and when I tried to get them on the phone together to see who was telling the truth, the dispatcher, Jay, refused. They were unprofessional, unhelpful and dishonest. I am a professional in the home service industry, and I would never allow one of my techs to treat a customer like this. They came out to my property to "fix" my dryer through my home warranty program. They blamed my dryer problem on a vent restriction, but I had the vent professionally cleaned one month prior. They inconvenienced me several times, did a terrible job "fixing" the issue, and then had awful customer service. If American home shield assigns them to your house, run away because you're going to get ripped off. read more

I can not hold JM accountable for a device that might need multiple rounds of review and testing, but I can hold them accountable for being flippant with their customers time. I was given an appointment window of "On Wednesday from 9am-5PM" (ridiculous service window in itself) and then nobody called or showed up for the entire day. How many of you have a profession where you can sit at home all day and have nobody show up? When I did get a call the person evaded simple direct questions. I see others talking highly of their service, and perhaps their service is good, but I can tell you their coordination is not good (and their service is suspect given the number of visits and the unit is still broken). If you wish to take a chance on wasting hours or days of your week waiting for them to show, or not show, give them a try. read more

TLDR: such poor customer service, they will never be allowed in my home On a Sunday I spoke with someone about scheduling an appointment. I told him all day Wednesday worked for me, and he said he would call on Tuesday to confirm a window of time. At 6:36 PM someone called but did not leave a message. The same number called again at 6:37. I also received a text at 6:37 telling me a four hour block of time. At 6:38 I received another text stating if I didn't accept in 10 minutes I would lose the chunk of time. I responded 20 minutes later and was informed Wednesday was now fully booked and they would schedule me for Friday. I responded Friday didn't work for me and I would call the warranty company to send a contractor who cared about its customer's schedules. I was surprised to receive a response of "Ok." I cancelled the request and informed the warranty company that I will never allow this contractor to do work in my home. read more

Worthless. Can't even get a hold of them because there "voice mail is full" and not accepting any new calls. Been waiting for 3 months for parts on a refrigerator that was covered under American HomeShield. Keep getting ridiculous excuses how they are waiting on parts as my fridge works one day and not the next. I keep having to throw food away which apparently is no big deal to these folks. It should really be negative stars. I do not recommend JM Appliance to anyone. They failed to contact me in a timely manner to repair my dryer. I had to take off of work 10 YES TEN times to meet the repair person because of their failure to get my appliance working. Once they left the heating element ungrounded and the dryer body heated up to the touch causing a fire hazard. This last time the repair person told me that he'd order a fuse and that the one that he put in was a temporary one to get it working for a while. After not hearing from them for 2 weeks, I called my warranty company and they told me that JM decided not to try to fix the dryer. Thanks a lot for wasting my time with 10 visits. Like one reviewer said, they gave long windows or would call and expect you to be available right away. Very difficult to contact. Message is "I'm too busy to reply". The business does not have a website, office staff to contact and is a fly by night outfit. Installing a central air conditioning unit outside doesn't sound very complicated but these old boys seemed to make it into a real project. Difficult to get them to show up on time, a poor quality install which required remediation from another repairman (not a JM Appliance repairman). Found out the wrong parts were installed which were cheaper. JM should stand for "Just Mediocre". These guys are amateurs. read more

Came to repair a washer, ordered part. I had them clean dryer and reverse the door and paid $80 for the cleaning, the dryer wasn't assembled back correctly, as the drum ring was able to catch my clothes and pull out of the front of dryer, also ruining a shirt that I cannot replace. The insist on my paying the cleaning but will reimburse me for the shirt and assemble dryer correctly. This is poor customer service, if it were my business I would refund the $80 and send a different person out to repair the machine, that did not need to be repaired in the first place read more

EXTREMELY RUDE!!! A man called me and asked if I was available tomorrow from 9-11am. I said no I needed an afternoon appointment. He said we don't do afternoon appointments. When I asked why not he said in a very rude/loud voice: "I don't know ma'am, you just need to call American Home Shield and get a different company" and he HUNG UP ON ME!! I called a few different companies to get our oven fixed. JM was the first one that I contacted that was polite and seemed to have good customer service. I called late on a Friday and setup up the appointment for 10-1pm on Saturday. He showed up early in window and got everything fixed in about 20 or 30 minutes. We called because the oven wasn't lighting, but we also had a burner that was pretty weak that he also fixed up for us free of charge! He was also kind enough to show me what he did to fix it so I could take care of it in the future. No complaints here. read more

Very happy with my experience. Went on American Home Shield site. JM Appliance texted and came the next day. Ordered 2 parts. Came back 3 days later and replaced heating element and timer. I had only reported the heating element, so was happy they also replaced the timer. I had forgotten that it was sometimes not working, but they must have figured that out. Replaced both parts in 30 minutes or so and the parts were covered by insurance. I only paid $75 and it was like I had a new drier. Very professional on the phone and kept us updated with arrival time. Even had a nice conversation about my Johnson Backyard Garden box of vegetables that had come that day they were there. 100% positive experience. read more

I have a home insurance policy and when the vent over my stove had an issue with the lights, the insurance company sent JM. After being here three times over a month and a half, there was still no resolution and an endless runaround about not having parts. I think they are just increasing the number of visits to be paid more or they are incredibly incompetent. I had another Austin appliance repair service come out one day after calling them and they fixed the lights above my stove in an hour with parts from Lowe's. I wish I could give zero stars. We have a home warranty through Home Warranty of America since we bought our house less than a year ago. Our AC turned off, so we call HWA who sent out JM appliance to repair it. They got here and said that it was turning off because the pan that fills up wasn't able to drain properly. So, the AC was turning off so it wouldn't overflow. JM appliance said they would fix it so it would drain properly. The next morning we wake up with water pouring from our ceiling. The man had set up the drain crooked so it wasn't turning off the AC and it was overflowing the pan onto the ceiling... down the walls and onto our hardwood floors. There is water stains all over my ceiling and JM Appliance is refusing to fix the damage to our house because "it wasn't working properly in the first place". Well - at least it turned off the AC instead of spilling over and damaging the entire house. I would never do business with this company again. I am surprised they didn't offer to fix it in the first place considering it was their fault the water poured over the pan. It is sad that a place like this can stay in business. Of course the Home Warranty place doesn't cover secondary damage.... so we are trying to file a claim on their insurance. What a pain. read more

This company is a HUGE scam! Our A/C went out last night so I called my home warranty place to issue a service call. JM Appliance was their recommendation. Joe answered quickly and was able to come out quickly. I thought I had good luck. Looked at our A/C unit and said nothing was wrong with it except it was a little low on freon so he put in about 2 1/2 gallons of freon and everything would be working properly and to call if it wasn't. Great! Paid my $60 and waited anxiously for some cool air. I gave it an hour to cool down even 1 degree which it didn't. So I called Joe back to let him know that it still isn't cooling and now the fan on the unit isn't even working anymore. He said he'd call me back in 10 min. An hour later and still no phone call, I call him. No answer of course!! After multiple attempts and still no answer and no return to my messages either. I'm 6 months pregnant, hot and pissed off! I placed a complaint with home warranty company and will be placing a complaint with the BBB as well. read more

Tech came out for a repair on a washing machine that was throwing some error codes. He was here for a while which I took a sign that he was being thorough and trying to get to the root of the problem. He told us that it was the control board that it would need to be replaced. This was on July 26th. On August 2nd, he returns to install the board, but then tells us that it's the pump that's gone out. So now he needs to order that but it should only be a couple of days. It's Friday and I hadn't heard from him so I called and left a voicemail to check the status. No call back, so I tried again towards the end of the business day. Oops, mailbox is full and can't accept any new messages. The automated message sounded like it was from a cell phone so I decided to try text message. Number turned blue (iMessage) on my phone indicating another iPhone, so I send a quick saying who I was and asking for a status update. He replied back with "You were advised it could take 7 to 10 days". No, actually, we weren't. We were told just a couple of days. Considering your Technician ordered the wrong part or didn't order all the parts he needed to start off with, expecting a quicker turnaround time the second go round didn't seem too out of the ordinary for us so we didn't question it at the time. I called American Home Shield back to find out what's going on and whether or not they could provide us with a more realistic ETA since JM Appliance stopped responding after the "7 to 10 days" comment. They couldn't reach the company either though because of their voicemail box being full. Upon further research, American Home Shield's records show the part wasn't ordered until late last night (August 4th) and hasn't even gone through the approval process. They were going to push it through now because they understand the delays that we've experienced with this repair and are trying to help us out. But JM Appliance sat on it for two days instead of ordering it the day they figured out they didn't have all the parts they needed to complete the job. Why would you wait? What sense does that make? Vendor Relations with American Home Shield has received numerous complaints about this company. Do yourself a favor, call someone else. Or better yet, learn to repair it yourself. You'll probably fix it faster than JM Appliance would anyway. read more

favorite people to call all the time always fix it fast and very nice technicians they explain to you what's wrong with it and if there needs to be a part that needs to be ordered they will have it shipped in over night sometimes and fix it asap and they will defitnely let you know if there's something else to be fixed . they always call 30 minutes ahead of time and are very profecional when they come in a fix something . they have fixed my a/c unit ,washer,dishwasher and dryer and they done an amazing job if i could give them 6 start i defitnly would read more

Their service was quick and they worked with us on understanding what needed to be done with the units and kept me informed of the progress as the parts were ordered and procured.
