Called him up and left a message describing the problem at 8PM that night, got a call at 8AM the next morning saying he could be at my place within an hour. He arrived on-time and, based on my description of the problem, with necessary parts on hand. He had it fixed and checked Freon levels within 30 minutes. I had a cold house again within an hour. He explained how the A/C worked to us newbies and how we could avoid the problem in the future. He even told us how good our unit was, obviously not vying for selling us a new one anytime soon. Not cool: He didn't fix it quite completely and the problem was worse than before. He also didn't leave his card or cell number so we couldn't get a hold of him. (Our bad also for not asking - lesson learned.) Cool: After calling his partner, we were able to get his cell number and called him. He returned in less than an hour and fixed the problem for good, apologizing for missing it the first time. It all worked out and Don is the nicest guy ever. Therefore, I lean on the positive side for this one. Thanks, Don!

2025 Review: 15…read moreyears ago, Chris saw how helpless/desperate my wife and I were with our hobbling AC system. He took amazing care of us and installed a new HVAC system with all the bells and whistles available at the time. He basically made a customer for life in 2010. 15 years *later*, Chris and his team did exactly the same thing with our new 2025 HVAC system. Flawless installation in less than a day (and with perfectly mild weather to boot), meticulous cleanup, and fantastic customer service as always. For 3 dudes rooting around in our hallway and attic installing the thing, you'd have thought they were trained by ninjas. Throughout the entire day, Chris, Juan and G didn't disrupt or "get in the way" of my wife and I while we worked from home, and got it all done without a hitch. Chris even updated the pedestal that our outside unit would sit on so now it will remain safe, dry and out of the way of any rainwater. Excellent job, but who are we kidding -it was totally expected. Thanks again Chris and Neal HVAC! You guys are the best.

I cannot recommend Champion. We had had a service contract with Champion for two years. It was…read moreexpensive, but we thought that the service provided was fair. Until now. We recently had our spring HVAC checkup, and when the technician left, we thought the AC was working. We had Champion follow up with estimates for new systems (ours are old). At the end of this, our AC units weren't working! It turns out that either the initial technician, or the technician who was providing an estimate for new systems, had left the breakers off at our two main compressors. Intentional? Probably just negligent. But a homeowner who just wanted working AC would have been stymied. Champion's service contracts are significantly overpriced, vis-à-vis the competition. My advice - stay away from this company. They only want to sell you overpriced services and systems.
