When my wife saw the Joy Love burger, I brought home from the Barker Cypress location, she had to try it. I called in an order to the Tomball location (22625 Hwy 249). Compared to other burger restaurants, it is on the pricier side, but the burger portions and taste are very good. The meat patty is very large in size. Combine that with homemade buns that are not too big or thick makes for a phenomenal meal! Make sure that you place your order ahead. This place is NOT fast food. read more

I ventured out with a friend to find a new burger joint for our monthly luncheon. I found this place during my Yelp search and since it was in the neighborhood we decided to give it a try. To make a long story short; this place ROCKS! The lady that took our order was both helpful and friendly. My friend ordered a burger and I had the steak sandwich. My steak sandwich was very very tender and my friends Burger was awesomely Big & Juicy. This was truly a gut busting experience and I will definitely be back. The prices are reasonable, especially for the big portions they serve. If you are in the Tomball area or someplace close by, you owe it to your taste buds to stop by and give this place a try. Just for fun: Why is your Mom like a Big Mac? A: Because she's full of fat and only worth buck. That's why you go to joy burgers The burger I got was: - beef paddy - bacon -cheese - perfect bun Highly recommend for picky eaters. Anyways HOMEMADE BUNS!! Went here for the first time w/ a friend who had been there a couple times. First off, their burgers start at a half lb (that's the single patty), so bring your appetite. Secondly, they're most of a smash patty, but not flat like some other places but definitely not a "artisan" hunk of meat that's like a ball-- it's a good sized patty. I ordered the bacon avocado burger-- the burger was good, juicy, and a nice sear on it . The buns were fantastically softened add to the overall experience because they're so good!!! The onions (add-on), mustard (add-on), fried egg (add-on) & lettuce were fresh, I took off the tomatoes. Switched the tots for fries (cost extra). It was definitely a good fucking burger and the tots were really crispy (bonus in my book). I will be back soon to try another burger or at least the same one (it was really good!) read more

We have eaten here many times. Often we just pick it up, and a few times we've eaten there. The food is made fresh, so we are always prepared for it to take a little longer. Tonight I used their online ordering, and it made me give a 20% tip. When I clicked on 10%, 15%, or "no tip," it wouldn't allow me to click. I thought it was probably an error, so I decided to wait and ask about it at the restaurant. When I arrived, I told the cashier what had happened. She brought out a manager, and he said there was nothing he could do about it. Keep in mind that I had ordered three hamburger combo meals and two kids meals. The total before tip was $75. When the tip was added it was $100. I explained to him that if I were eating in the restaurant I would tip, but I shouldn't have to tip when I'm picking up my own food. Again, he said there was nothing he could do about it. I left, a little upset, but happy that I was supporting a small business. When I got home I realized we had not received any french fries at all. I called to ask about the issue. I was told that I had ordered incorrectly. I had my ticket in hand that showed I had ordered correctly. They told me I could pay for more and come get them. Needless to say, I will not be going back. I am sad that they lost a loyal customer. read more

Wasn't sure what to expect. Tucked away in a rather obscure end of a shopping strip. You kinda need to be looking for it --which we were, since we had looked for restaurants in the area and seen reviews. Nice, friendly, great food and nice ambiance. We will be back. read more

Just had my first Joy Love burger and it was delicious! They were busy; most folks were getting to go orders like me but the wait wasn't bad at all. Highly recommend this place - especially with Covid-19 being such a buzzkill with eating out. LOL read more

Atmosphere: The place was not clean and a movie with nudity was playing on the TV, despite young children being present. The bathroom has urine all over the floor and the staff simply put up a "wet floor" Food: The food was decent, but not great. The hamburger was large, but the meat patty was thinner than I like. The catfish was good, also. The fries and onion rings were also good. I probably would go back, but only if I am hungry and craving a hamburger. There are better places close by, such as Fire Any Brewery or Hopdoddy's. read more

I was visiting Houston from the bay area California and decided try this burger joint. Since I am very used to eating In n Out burger, I was very surprised how this small private joint made their burger tasted like the In n Out but but much bigger. I meant bigger than the triple patty from the In n Out. The seasoning was well done from the start to end and the bun seemed to be made at the store. If this burger come to California with the same price range, I would definitely choose this burger over In n Out. $6.95 for the huge burger and $8.95 for the double everything burger. I don't think any joint in Texas can beat this burger for the taste and the amount of the food. This is a must try burger joint if anyone is visiting Houston. read more

The burgers are HUGE!!! The fries aren't anything special and the drinks are just 12oz cans, so just skip those and get a burger! I LOVE the avocado cheeseburger!!! Also, it's a very small place so it's best to place and order for pickup. read more

First time here, Joy Love burgers is SO good that I didn't want to share this gem with YELP lol. The rumors are true the portions are texas size and they more than justify the price. Great burgers. Some of the best on my top 10 burger list. I usually get the regular Cheeseburger, because it's so good. The patty is Certified Angus beef. The vegetables are fresh. They make their burger buns in house. Kinda reminds me of an oversized brioche bun in taste and feel. The bread tastes very light, though. It's not like the bun is hefty, though it may look that way. They are a little bit pricy, but you do get what you pay for. read more

Another great meal today, my first time at the Tomball location! I got there at 11 a.m., first customer of the day. I was greeted promptly by the young man at the counter who took my order and invited me to sit and wait. In about 15 minutes I had my 2pc pork chops combo and was on my way to work. This is my second "visit" (I put that in quotation marks because we got takeout). I got the Philly Cheesesteak this time. It is delicious. I also asked for their toasted, sliced bread. The bread is melt in your mouth yumminess. Joy Love Burger is a MUST EAT experience. read more

The food tastes pretty good if they can get your order right. Don't think about asking for your burger without mayo or with bacon because chances are they'll screw it up and they argue with you about it. This is 3 times now I've been in now and the staff can't seem to get it right. Disappointing because the burgers are tasty, but the staff sucks.! read more

Wow. What a disappointment. Heard good things about this place and decided to try the Cajun wings combo. No idea what was Cajun about them since they essentially had no seasoning and were simply deep fried. Totally plain and boring. We had to drown them in hot sauce for a little excitement. I suppose we should have stuck with the burgers instead. Hence, based on the wings totally overpriced but substandard fare. Last question - what were we supposed to do with the lettuce leaves and the single slice of tomato? read more

I'm glad I finally gave in to curiosity. This spot was already jumping on a Friday evening around 6 PM. The southern hospitality was definitely there. It's family-oriented, pet-friendly, and apparently Friday nights are the only time you can catch them frying up catfish and shrimp. Customer service was a mix of good and just okay. The lady taking our order was polite, but not very friendly, maybe she's just not the best with social skills. You walk up to the outside window to order (like my husband and I did). We were told there'd be about a 45-minute wait, which we were fine with. They gave us a pager to let us know when the food was ready, and luckily we found a table in the packed dining area where we could enjoy the entertainment while we waited. We sipped on margaritas on the rocks and took in the scene. I was honestly surprised at how good they were, especially with the Tajín on the rim. Delicious and strong. Now, the two female servers were the real highlight. They were friendly, down-to-earth, and very attentive, checking on us periodically. Overall it just wasn't a pleasant dining experience, and I personally wouldn't return.

The only disappointment I had was that the bar was beer, wine and Truly type drinks. I had assumed it was a full bar.
