I love cafés, especially finding the local ones, and I was really looking forward to eating here but I was sadly disappointed. We ordered 2 rice bowls (hot honey and teriyaki chicken). Both were bland tasting. The hot honey sauce didn't taste like hot honey at all (more like Frank's sauce). The coleslaw didn't go with the rest of the dish at all. It just wasn't the right combination. We also waited a while for our order (approx. 20 mins). Not sure what the hold up was despite the place being empty when we dined in. I had the best vegetarian sandwich of all time today. And one of the best overall sandwich's of any activity. What an awesome surprise! I was starving and looking for something I could eat on the go, being a vegetarian seriously limits my options there, so I decided to be brave and try this spot since it was close to where I was. So glad I did!! It's a funky spot, lots of seating, super friendly staff, very clean. Bonus. They told me to expect 20 minutes for my sandwich but it was ready in under ten minutes, double bonus! The sandwich. Omg. Slightly ground and blackened chickpeas, super fresh arugula, super fresh tomato, an amazing sauce served on the softest ciabatta bread I've ever had. It was amazing - absolute perfection. And it was all wrapped up nice and neat for easy, on the road eating. Served with a bottle of water and bag of Tim's chips. I didn't realize that the previous business at this location (Dawn's) had closed and now it is JJ's with a different menu. Mostly salads and wraps, but I ordered Devin's Turkey Sandwich Nicely made up of turkey slices, bacon, cranberry sauce, lettuce, tomato with chopped jalapeños and sprinkled with a dose of balsamic vinegar on whole grain bread. Actually very good. Service with a smile at front counter where you order, pay, get a number and find a table to set at. Which, oddly enough wasn't too difficult as there was only two tables being occupied with dozens others that were vacant - and during the lunch hour! Not sure why but it isn't a remake of Dawn's which was always busy and very few, if any, desserts to offer which the previous owners did. Pleasant ambiance but loud music. I'm never sure if the tunes are for the staff or for the customers. Seems like they prefer orders "to go" as noted in the name or do more catering than serving in-dining customers. But that was my observation and I could have been there on an off-day. May try again some time if I think about it next time I'm in Centralia. read more

After moving back to Lewis County after being gone for 15 years, I was so happy to see there was finally a legit good restaurant for my family to visit and enjoy a meal together. My husband was brought the wrong dish entirely, and he has allergies, so we couldn't just let it go.. but the waiter argued with us about what he ordered instead of trying to make it right.
