At the door the staff was welcoming and cheerful! " come on in"!!! The menu was plentiful & full of great choices! I ordered a " soul leg"! Turkey leg w/collards & Mac & cheese! Absolutely delectable! The aroma alone drew me in!! The food arrived at the table in a huge loaf pan! Huge amount of food! 2 could enjoy it easily! Just the right amount of seasoning on everything! I could not have been more pleased ! If you're ever in the area please stop by, you will not be disappointed!!!

AWESOME, DELICIOUSNESS I have been waiting for this restaurant to open for some time . I did an abrupt U- turn just to go there when I realized they were now open. Service with a smile from ALLLL of them. So helpful and welcoming. I got 1 turkey leg, 1 turkey wing and side of collards to go but would have eaten there if not in a rush. I was comfortable while I waited. They have completely redone the inside. It's very nice. They even have a bar!!! It was sooooo good y'all! Served hot, falling off the bone, seasoned perfectly with just the right amount of stickiness...you know what I mean if you eat turkey legs or wings . I'm soooo excited to have this family owned restaurant serving up Turkey legs and wings near me now. When you go, tell them Genia sent you... You saw my review.

My parents wanted some turkey legs sooo bad and we stumbled on this place and I'm so happy we did!! The food came out fast and it was soooo fresh and delicious! The service was great! Great portion sizes and I love how they have a small bar in the place for when you're waiting on your food. Music selection was also great too! Highly recommend if you want some good soul food!!

They just opened up the other day. Great customer service I placed my order and went to the bar to have a beer while I waited and the food was out before I could finish my beer. I had the soul leg but they have a few other items on the menu that I want to try. The food was good the turkey leg didn't fall off the bone but it was good. I've been to the Turkey leg hut in Houston so my review might be a little more harsher than others but it's still a great option for Charlotte. It doesn't look like much on the outside but once you step inside it's A1, very nice job. I'll leave a more detailed review after I visit a few more times.

Let me tell you the food was freaking delicious. I had the soul leg and my husband had the dirty leg and we ordered the soul food egg rolls. Man this was one of the best meals we ever had! The place is charming and the guys were nice! This is going to be our go-to place.

The food is awesome. The customer service is awesome. I got to taste a little bit of everyone's plate and everything was delicious. Do not order a soda because the Cajun seasoning will have your mouth on fire. Make sure you get a water. The devil eggs only came in a three pack, but it was accompanied with three grilled Cajun shrimps. The salmon bites were delicious I can eat buckets of those the owner was very nice. He gave the kids a piece of cake I am full and about to bust we will be back. The ambience is great playing in the background. Adult drinks are available. There is a bar and a little seating area you can see it in my picture stop by Support black businesses you will not be disappointed

My friend found this spot and I have to say, I'm not going to say the "S" word - because it didn't apply. It was all Hospitality. The first interaction was like we had stepped into someone's home and were told to make ourselves at home. And the rest was the same. The gentleman walked us through the menu. Pretty much the entire line up of options. Not a condescending or impatient tone - warm and welcoming. Same with the next person. Even convinced my friend to get a dessert. Not that I need my arm twisted. The dining area was well kept. Clean. The condiments were well stocked and organized. I saw two different team members taking care of business there even asking if I needed anything. Bathrooms were immaculate. Don't see that very often - at least I don't in public places. The food was what we were looking for. Comfort food. With taste, not muted - just good flavor and consistency. A far cry from the bland, dry foods we had experienced the days prior. It was one of the first meals I really enjoyed on this trip to NC. Not saying that others were bad - they just didn't align with my taste preferences/expectations. Something about how Fried Chicken and Pork Chops are prepared in the South (or NOT California). Tender. Juicy. Mac & Cheese - not watery or overcooked. And I don't think I've ever had bad collared greens in my life. It's one of the handful of green vegetables I love having. Almost forgot parking. It's in kinda a plaza/strip mall setting. Free space and lots when we went (lunch). Not having to look for or pay for parking is always a plus for me. So, it's a chain. But I'd definitely go back. I almost ordered more but was saving the stomach space for dinner.

It's not a huge place, so it can easily get crowded with customers waiting for their orders. We weren't in line long, so that was a plus. However, once it was our turn to place our orders, we both said, "Hello, how are you?" She looked at us, turned her head, and said, "What can I get you?" We looked at each other and chuckled. We told her it was our first time here, and she helped us understand how the menu worked, so we placed our order. I ordered the fried whiting, mac & cheese, and green beans. After placing our order, we received a ticket with a number on it and slid over to the left to an older lady (cashier) who seemed to be frustrated or possibly tired. Her attitude wasn't welcoming, but she wasn't mean. She confirmed our order, and then we paid for our food and were told it would take about 25 minutes. We waited in the car until our food was ready. I went back in to get our food, and a gentleman was ahead of me, and he asked one of the staff there, "Who took the orders over the phone?" She said, "I don't know." He said, "They need to work on their customer service skills because to come here to support the business and to be treated like that ain't good." No apology was offered or anything. It assured me that it wasn't just me who felt this way. However, I will return because I enjoyed what I ordered. Give them a try!!!

The restaurant was busy but not overly so. They were able to seat us right away. There were lots of delicious items on the menu. My friends all got the salmon (two grilled and one fried). I got the crabcake because I just have to be different, I guess. They brought out cornbread muffins with honey butter that were delicious. They were really soft and cake-like and the honey butter topping was awesome. Two of us got side salads for our side and they came out with the meal, which isn't my preference but the food came out quickly any way so it was fine. The side salads were MASSIVE. Lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and onions (removed from mine) in a huge bowl. Probably could have been a meal to itself. The food came out and there was some confusion on sides that were mismatched and all of the salmons were grilled (instead of the one fried). Everyone really enjoyed their meal. I kinda wish I had gotten the salmon because it looked amazing and really well seasoned. The crab cake I had was good too. I think it had their Garlic Parmesan Cream sauce on top. The crab cake was big and had plenty of crab. I think I would have preferred a traditional tartar sauce on the side. I got their mac and cheese for my other side. It was super creamy and cheesy. It was also topped with the garlic parmesan cream sauce. Very tasty. Service was good. Not ton of visits to the table but I don't think we ever wanted for anything. My total with tip was about $40 and I think it was worth it for all the food I got. Would be a fun place to return too! Good job, Sol'Delish!

I already knew this probably wasn't going to end well. Come to find out, Kitchen & Cocktails has a very limited beverage menu. Everything we tried to order, they didn't have. Beer? Nope. Non-alcoholic margarita or mocktail? Nope. Their daiquiris are pre-mixed, so apparently customization is not a thing here. Basically, if you wanted something non-alcoholic or even just simple, good luck. Strong pre-made cocktails seemed to be the entire personality of the bar. Now let's talk food. The menu photos are BEAUTIFUL. Very inviting. Study them carefully because those pictures are apparently actual size and actual serving quantities. I ordered the red beans and rice with fried chicken. What arrived was one fried chicken wing. ONE. Not wings. Wing. Singular. The beans were spicy but decent enough. Then I tasted the rice. The rice wasn't cooked. At all. It felt like wet grains poured straight onto the plate. Completely ruined the meal. So now I have to explain why the rice is still sitting there untouched and rolling around the plate. And I'm pissed because I have these hard granular stuck in my teeth. Fresh rice eventually came out, and yes, that batch was cooked, but by then the moment was gone. Other people at the table ordered catfish, which was actually a beautiful large portion, BUT all the sides are à la carte and ridiculously overpriced. Mac and cheese and other sides starting around $12-$20? Come on now. There were also grilled pork chops at the table. Thin doesn't even describe them. We're talking paper-thin, quick-flash-on-the-grill pork chops that came back flavorless. The peach cobbler was okay. I mean... sugar is sugar. What really seals the deal is the automatic 20% gratuity added to every check, regardless of service quality. So whether your server disappears for 12 minutes or not, they're getting paid. I would not recommend this place to anyone expecting: * good service * a cold beer * decent mocktails * reasonably priced sides * flavorful Southern food * or enough food to actually get full If I order chicken wings, I expect at least two. There's that.
