They know how to throw a Christmas party! I was surprised with tickets to attend this event this year and it was so cool. You walked in to complimentary cocktails from hotel tango and TWO drink tickets. They had food all around and a desert table inside the exhibit area. Major shout out to the DJ she was amazing! The exhibit was so cool highlighting major landmarks around the country and all of our special gems here in the city. I'm already waiting for next year :)

We took our 2 year old grandson to Jingle Rails on Saturday and he loved it. The exhibit is low enough for him to see the trains. He got so excited when the train went by. He also wanted to stay in one spot and watch the train. But there are many famous landmarks like downtown Indy from the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, the Eiteljorg Museum,IPL building with the windows lit up like a Christmas tree even our famous covered bridges and Lucas oil stadium. Las Vegas with the Hoover Dam. Yellowstone National Park with Old Faithful and it shoots up smoke instead of water. Mt Rushmore also Aspen Colorado and Yosemite with the Upper water fall. They is so much Details in the displays and there are trains running on trusses above your head. Just so much to see. Out in the hall is the Indianapolis 500 with cars but the train dose go over head. If you have never been, its in the Eiteljorg Museum downtown Indianapolis. There's a restaurant and gift shop inside also. The galleries has Native American art that you can also explore while you are there. And if you are parking in the parking garage below they will validate your parking ticket so don't forget to take it in with you. Out in the hall you can snap a photo inside a train what a great memory.

Whether you simply like trains or like engaging in family type holiday festivities, Jingle Rails is something unique for the metro Indy area. Along the canal side of the museum, this annual exhibit features multiple train tracks crossing overhead and down at table level while weaving through islands of places around the country. Most are famous Indianapolis landmarks or National Parks. The settings are fashioned with rough hewn wood that makes the settings seem connected as well as somewhat timeless. In 2019, the area outside the main room has added a miniature IMS and State Fair Grounds. Inside the room, you will see places like Hoover Dam and Mt Rushmore, Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, and many others. The trains run regularly, so you don't have long waits between passes. Another bonus is that the exhibit is free with regular museum admission. Note that if you bring your parking ticket from the garage, you can ask the museum to validate it so you park for free! The exhibit runs beyond the holidays until Jan 20, 2020 with evening hours (until 8pm) on Mondays in December. Review #3423

We went over to jingle rails at the Eiteljorg for a company Christmas party. They were running just a tad bit behind when we arrived. Despite this the staff that was there greeted us with smiles and explain different things to us that we could see in the museum. When we were allowed to go to the area that was reserved for us I was very impressed. This is my first time to the museum and I honestly did not know what to expect. Our first stop was the train display of been a model train enthusiast I was like a kid in a candy store as you will see with the pictures. The different displays with national parks some things around Indiana were very detailed at all I can say is wow really really enjoyed. We then adventured into the galleries and loving Native American art I could've spent hours in there and probably even skip the meal. I kept telling my family I wish I could afford that picture I wish I could afford that sculpture those are beautiful I want those. Everything that I looked at seem to be explaining as to what it was and who the artist was. This place is awesome. If you have never been I highly highly highly recommend visiting the Eiteljorg Museum.

Jingle Rails did not disappoint! The detail was amazing!

I loved the way he allowed them to interact with the animals in ways they would never be able to other places. He does not restrict the kids and uses everything as a learning opportunity. The cafe is large and clean with a variety of different formats for the children to play in. Having a dress up area, some segmented areas for blocks and trains, and individual "store fronts" was great. Our kids had a wonderful time. The only reason I took a star away was inconsistent application of rules as many children were not wearing grip socks while it was included as a requirement. We were asked to purchase these from the cafe when we checked in... which if it is an established rule is fine, but a little annoying that the rule isn't universally applied. The play cafe is also a bit more expensive at ~$17 per child ages 1-10 with no discount for multiple children (as of Feb 2026) compared to other play cafes we have been to. It also did start getting quite crowded around 10:00 AM and there didn't seem to be an end in sight. Still, it is a nice cafe and I'd recommend it to others looking for a place to take your kids, especially if you can avoid the peak periods.

They were constantly walking back and forth, checking things out, so I always felt like my kids were safe. 2. This indoor aquatic center is open year-round, so kids have a place to splash, wade and swim even when it's freezing outside. The day I visited, the water temperature was nice and warm, and the ambient air temp was just as inviting. 3. It's really inexpensive. Prices range from $4 to $6 dollars depending on age and the day you visit. Kids 2 and younger are free. 4. This is a small indoor water park, but it's big enough to have fun for hours. Now for the negatives: 1. This indoor water park is really old and in need of an update, and it shows. The playground structures in the water area are visibly rusted and look dirty. 2. The lock to the bathroom / changing room I was in DID NOT LOCK. It goes without saying that their changing rooms should have working locks. I had to stand by the door to block it, hoping that no one would try to come in! It also didn't have a trash can, for some reason. 3. The hallway to the changing room was super dark and didn't have any lights. Pretty much the last place you want to be changing in is a dark and creepy room. Fix the lightbulbs! This is another simple thing that could be fixed if they kept up the place. 4. They don't allow outside food or drinks inside the aquatic center. You can buy food and drinks at their snack bar, but when I was there (on a weekend), it was closed. Not sure what they expect visitors to do with a closed snack bar during operating hours. I like that Indy offers places like Indy Island so kids can enjoy swimming and playing in the water indoors. But this place is in need of some TLC in order to compete with some of the other indoor aquatic centers.

I was impressed enough that I texted three friends photos, told my wife to start planning our son's birthday party here, and was actively asking managers about upgrading to full access because I had just discovered the larger "Adrenaline" area. For context: it's Indiana winter, it was cold, and I had a hooded sweatshirt on with the hood up because I was freezing. During my 2 1/2-hour stay, I spoke with two managers about memberships--neither said a word about my hood. While walking around trying to keep up my child, I heard someone off to the side say, "Take your hood off." I approached the man, who asked me politely. I politely asked why it was a rule. His response was shocking: "So I can see your entire face on my 50 cameras." This was 11:30 a.m. on a Friday, not a packed weekend night. I turned away to continue looking for my child, removed the hood, and muttered "whatever dude" under my breath. That's when the situation escalated wildly. He charged toward me, yelling: "I'm the owner--if you don't like it, leave!" I had already complied. That wasn't enough. He then shouted: "I'll give you your money back!" And finally said something that truly crossed a line: "If there are off-colored people with hoods up and we ask them to take it down, what would that look like?" I'm still trying to understand why race was brought into this at all. Let me be clear: * The facility is great for kids * The staff and managers were wonderful * We were not leaving anytime soon until this happened But the owner's behavior was aggressive, unnecessary, and completely inappropriate. A simple rule explanation would've sufficed. Instead, it turned into a power trip with racial commentary that had no place in the conversation. Rules are rules--but how you enforce them matters. I'll take the refund. And I'll take my business elsewhere.

The staff there, from top to bottom is very friendly, helpful and welcoming. I was very impressed, especially considering that they deal with screaming kids all day. Great job to them and whoever does the hiring. For those having a party there, you are giving a dedicated table with a server. The party area is in an open fenced off area.
