I booked an escape room for my daughter's 12th birthday. The girls wanted to try something different and it wasn't a disappointment. This is truly a hidden gem. I knew the general vicinity but had no idea it was right next door to a restaurant we venture to often. The girls were giddy. I mean - think 6 pre teens on a saturday night and what do you have? They were loud and I could sense it might be a long hour while I waited in the lobby. Staff seemed slightly annoyed by the volume. I wondered if they had children often, but had also had read reviews and knew they did! Several groups came in/left while I waited (including children) and slowly the loud screams/giggles tamed a bit. The girls had a blast. They finished with just a few minutes left and assistance from staff (hehe). They can't wait to go back and try another one. Maybe this time I'll join them. read more

Really fun! We did the Missing Maestro room and did not make it out before the hour was up. We'll definitely go back and see if we can make it out next time. The team was super responsive. I reached out to ask if my mom could bring a walker or if there would be places she could sit in the room. They responded right away and said that most of the rooms had at least one place to sit and that they could also add a stool if we needed. Hope was our game master and she did a great job giving us hints but not making it too easy. The only minus was that one of the staff members was wearing his mask down under his chin. Everyone else was wearing a mask and we were mostly in a room by ourselves anyway so it was not a big deal. read more

We booked an appointment recently and all I can say is it was great fun and it was certainly a challenge. It's something unique that everybody should try at least once. It sure does help you brush up on your communication skills and working within a group in a cohesive and organized manner. We picked a very difficult room to solve. We picked the submarine theme. Since there are cameras in all of the rooms, the staff can see what you're doing and once in awhile, they will chime in and give you a hint if you want one. We got out within an hour, but we admittedly did have a little help. I would highly recommend this location to anybody who would like to satisfy their curiosity and interest in doing an escape room as a change of pace for entertainment. We will definitely go again, and try something different. I would suggest that the group size should be between 6 to 8 members. If you get more than that, it gets a little bit more chaotic and convoluted, as far as trying to solve the mystery. read more

This was an awesome experience. They accommodated us on a certain time even when they're short staffed and the staff was very helpful. Our 9 y/o niece visited us from west coast for the week of New Year's eve and wanted to try this. Twisted Room Escapes is an independent family owned and operated escape rooms, as well as event rooms. They came up with all of the stories, props, etc. TRE currently offer two rooms for booking, The Cabin and Missing Maestro, as well as a free mini-room, the Detective agency, to help you get the feel of what an escape room is if you've never played. The Process: 1. Get a group of friends and go onto their website to view the rooms schedules and availability and secure a reservation or phone them directly. 2. Upon arrival, you'll need to sign a wavier 3. If you have time to kill, they have a nice lobby that has some seating as well as a few games to play, including a portable escape cart. They also have water and a few snack available for purchase. 4. Once its time you will be brought back to your room and given a few rules and introduction video will set the stage, and then the games begin. 5. There is game monitor, who is watching and listening to help move you along. If you get stuck, they can provide assistance, which is unlimited. 6. If you need to exit and anytime, there is a button to let you out and back in, so you won't truly be "trapped" 7. You will have 60 minutes to get out of the room. There is a clock on the monitor that will count down your remaining time, as well as every 15 minutes provide a chime warning that that amount of time has passed. 8. Be on the hunt for four poker chips throughout the room as well. If you find one, you'll get to spin the wheel to win a prize. Our group did the Missing Maestro's room. This was my first experience at an escape room. . I'm not going to give anything away, but I found the story to be compelling, and the clues to be challenging and fun Tips: + They do have a large shared lot with the rest of the businesses. That being said, they are located right next to the Atrium, a banquet hall, so if they have an event going on, you may have to walk from the other end of the lot. Which isn't far, but you will need to account for the additional time. + The maximum number of people for each room is 8. For The Cabin, they do suggest a minimum of 4 people due to the difficulty; however, if you arrive with less, TRE will step in to assist with certain puzzles. Overall a great experience. This is by far one of the best escapes rooms I've been too. I am a fan and have been to them all over the city and a couple around the country! First off, the staff is extremely nice. Like extremely!!! Everyone is so welcoming and helps you out a lot. I have been to more mainstream, corporate like escape rooms and you don't get the feel like you do here. The rooms are well thought out and fun! They're clean and always interesting. Parking is right outside the door so you don't have to worry about finding and paying for parking! The coolest part, which the kids love, is that you collect tokens and then can redeem them for prizes after! This makes the place especially unique and fun! Twisted room escapes is a great place to go for a fun entertaining time. This escape room is located near Thompson Road close to University of Indianapolis in a strip mall. They told us that the escape room had been there for about three years and they also offer axe throwing. The waiting area has games for you to play while you wait but you won't wait long if your party all arrives at the same time. You do have to sign a waiver when you sign in but it does not take long at all. We came here for my sisters birthday with a group of seven people and they can accommodate up to eight people per room. We did the collection room which focused on trying to find a haunted object. The room had so much attention to detail that it was not only fun to look at everything but you could appreciate the effort put into all the clues. You get unlimited hints by your game master and they are really helpful and they don't just give stuff away- they try and lead you to the clues. There are hidden chips throughout the room and if you find the chips you get to spin the wheel in the lobby to win different prizes- we found three chips. One thing I really enjoyed about this escape room was the fact that they let us keep going even when the clock ran out and I think this was due to the fact that we were so close to being done. What a lot of fun we had at The Cabin escape room! Three generations put our great minds together and escaped with 50 seconds to spare! It was a challenge to unlock various clues. You can get hints from the monitor, as many as you need, throughout the hour long event. This is a family run business. Everyone was personable and helpful. There is a prize wheel you spin for each chip you find in the room when you are finished. Then a photo is taken of your group. From the moment you walk in the door your treated like family! We were greeted and checked in by Grandma, and were then introduce to Heidi, one of the owners. First game up The Cabin, Heidi led us into the room and the theming was fantastic! After a briefing of the game we were off and running with Grandma as our game master. The puzzles were engaging and extremely fun. The theme of the room was well representative throughout. You have unlimited hints (which is appreciated!) and we had some gently nudging when we were clearly stuck but being too stubborn to ask for a clue. We also played the Alice room the same night, and our game master was Hope, who also did all the artwork in the rooms and she's extremely talented! The puzzles all fit the theme of the room, and there were quite a few "WOW!" Moments. We got distracted by taking in the room that we almost forgot our task at hand. I highly recommend playing Twisted Escape rooms, everyone on staff is just incredible! We talked after our game play about various game rooms and if we lived closer to this location would be stopping by all the time to play or even to just say hi. This is an independently own business, they have poured their heart and souls into this business and it shows! We were fortunate enough to go behinds the scenes of the operation and I was in awe of the talent everyone possesses. It's incredible how they build everything by scratch, even the chess pieces! I've been to other escape rooms before but they were nothing compared to Twisted Room Escapes. Tonight my family did the Alice in Wonderland room and It. Was. Awesome! First and foremost this is a family run local business with some of the friendliest owners you'll ever meet. They don't limit you to 3 hints like the other places do either. The friendly voice in the sky AKA your game master will give you as many hints as you want. The Alice in Wonderland room is not just a room. It's an escape to wonderland with beautifully decorated and imaginative decor. It's like you stepped into wonderland! The amount of work and creativity that went into the room is out of this world. The puzzles and riddles make you think but they are not so hard that you'll never get them. It was the perfect pace (with some hints from our eye in the sky) It's great for adults and kids. My 14yr old daughter wanted to take five of her friends to an escape room for her birthday. After a little research we decided to choose Twisted Room Escapes. Upon arrival we were a bit at unimpressed with the outside of the establishment. It was nestled in a rundown strip mall that made each attendee wonder how this would turn out. As we entered, the front desk was unfriendly and a little too serious about her job which in hindsight was probably good. I assume she had no kids and quite frankly believes she has had little to no interaction with young teenagers. Surprisingly, the girls had the best time. In spite of their not so welcome with the young girl at the front desk, they enjoyed the game, want to go back, and give KUDOS to their game manager - who was incredibly nice and helpful. So besides the outside and the girl at the front desk that said my girls were "not bright" they had a terrific time and they should place the game manager of the rabbit game at the front desk and keep the other away from the public. I have been to a few escape rooms which were fun, but I really enjoyed the escape room here. This one stands out to me because the staff is extremely nice and will cater to make you happy which doesn't happen at all places. They have hidden "tokens" in the rooms that if you find you can spin a wheel to win an extra prize. That is unique and more money worthy compared to other escape rooms I have been to. Also parking is a breeze as it is right in front of the building versus having to find a parking garage and walk a distance. They have ski ball, large connect four, checkers, and an arcade game in the waiting room. This was perfect because we had 3 kids (ages 8, 6,& 3) this kept them distracted as we signed in and and waited for our time. We chose to do the sweet shoppe since it was the easiest and we thought it'd be less scary for younger kids. It was perfect! All the kids had a blast and want to go back again. I was glad to be able to find an escape room good for kids and we will definitely be back again. I would also recommend this room to first time escape room players because we had 2 adults and still needed some hints and barely escaped at 54 minutes! read more

We were able to bring coffee and laugh at each other as we struggled to find clues to solve the puzzle of how to escape this very well planned room. The storyline was a bit silly, but no sillier than us accidentally taking apart things that weren't actually clues... Definitely invite your more observant friends if you decide to do this particular room! The employees were extremely friendly and design all of their rooms. It seems like most places have rooms for 6 or more people or they force you to buy out the whole room if you want it to be private but this place had a room just for the two of us - The Maestro Mystery! Great place to test your mettle. We have done 4 of 5 rooms now. Favorites were The Cabin and The Submarine. These were two well thought out well decorated rooms. The others were fun two, but we did two each time we went and we have learned that it's best to do the easier of the 2 first. Don't fry yourself and then go to another! Very friendly and fun staff. They also hide tokens in the rooms and if you find them you get to 'spin the wheel' for free goodies. Nice twist. Good time, good people and good value. read more

My family has completed every escape room they currently have to offer, including their most recent Alice's White Rabbit rescue, (which was very bright, cute, and wonderfully elaborate.) and have thoroughly enjoyed all of them. We were a group of 5 adults and we did the Alice & Wonderland themed room. It was really challenging for us!! We weren't able to figure it all out in 60 minutes and our "game master" had to give us clues over the intercom. If you're looking to do an escape room, I would 100% recommend this place. It's great for all ages and would be a great place to go with some colleagues for a team building exercise. I was impressed with the decor and the puzzles were very innovative. Fun Escape room for the south side! Our family thoroughly enjoyed all the fun games to play while getting signed in, the game Masters were friendly and helpful, and the game design was great. My two friends and I were in town for a conference and took a night to visit Twisted Room Escapes and play The Cabin room. I have done a half dozen or so escape rooms of different styles and this is one of my favorites. First of all, this a family run business and the people are all super nice. We played the room with two other groups of two and one of them had some car trouble, and the staff of Twisted Room Escapes went out of their way to help them get the support they needed to enjoy their game and take care of their car. When we got there, we filled out our waivers and then played the puzzle cart sitting in the lobby. They said they also had a mini escape room for people to play if they had time before their game and wanted to try it out. That's a great idea and keeps people occupied if they are waiting for others in their group to arrive. The Cabin is an open path (I believe that is what they call it) design which I like because people in your group can all be searching and/or working on different puzzles at the same time. When everyone is trying to work on one thing, people end up standing around and it's not as much fun. The props and build of the room is phenomenal. I was really impressed. They did a great job of explaining the rules of the room and showing us a little introductory video before we started. There are poker chips hidden around the room and those who found them could spin a prize wheel at the end. There isn't anyone (staff) in the room with you, but there is someone monitoring who can seen/hear you at all times. At any point you can ask questions or ask for help and you'll get a response immediately. The puzzles were challenging, but not impossible, and I love that they give you options with hints. They don't limit your help, but will give you as much or as little help as you want. If your group doesn't want any help, they will keep quiet, but if you need a few hints, they will help you without spelling it out for you. We all thoroughly enjoyed The Cabin and highly recommend it! I wish we were going to be in town longer to try the Missing Maestro room! read more

My wife, her son, his wife and I did the submarine room. This was a first for 2 of us and kids had been to 4 or 5 escape rooms. It was fun and difficult. We made it out with 2 seconds to spare. Granted we needed quite a few hints. Apparently this is one of their more difficult rooms. Without help, I think we would've needed 3 or 4 hours. I'm excited to try another now that I have a basic understanding of how the puzzles work. The operators were very nice. Our family group, 8 adults and a 9 year old, had a great time in The Cabin. This was my first escape room and I found it challenging and fun. The Cabin is very well designed and intricate relative to its space. I would say that a group of 8 is too large as it is hard to keep up with what everyone is finding/doing.
