Food has gone way downhill, still liked going but now with their 48hr, $100 per person cancellation policy it's not worth the risk. Food used to be great asian fusion and worth the cost but now it's just an overpriced confusing menu of random Chinese and Japanese items sprinkled throughout the menu read more

we had a reservation here for 830 and were seated approx 830 despite the rainstorm. food was delicious. we got the truffle kale fried rice 10/10. the miso soup was alright, it wasn't very flavorful maybe a 6/10. We also got tuna sashimi which was pretty good and a double salmon roll. The reason i took off two stars is not because of the food but because i have a severe gluten allergy and i made my server well aware but there were still mistakes made. The tuna sashimi which was really good had crispy fried something on it. i was a bit hesitant but i stressed my allergy so i trusted it. I had most of it until i saw our waiter and asked if it was gluten free. he said no and stated that he thought i just wanted the fried rice gluten free. i was like dude i told you i had an allergy, pretty severe one and to make sure everything was made gluten free. why would i just want one thing gluten free? he kept making excuses and i had to get the manager. she was lovely and covered almost all our bill which was much appreciated. it's just dangerous having people not take into consideration allergies like that. i had to take my medicine immediately and pretty much lost my appetite the rest of the night. awesome food, good service but that "mistake" costed me a fun night out in aspen. read more

If it wasn't for the Kobe beef tacos being excellent, this review would be 1star. Everything else sucked, and here's why: (1) price does not match quality. With the exception above, everything is middle-of-the-road at sky high prices and microscopic portions. (2) their menu has misleading names for common items. For instance, the thing that irked me the most was the "double California roll", which I had hoped I could share with my daughters who usually eat 1 or 2 pieces. Instead, what we got was the thinnest California roll I'd ever seen, a standard 8 pieces, but tiny ones, and the "double" moniker was apparently bc they put crab on top of the roll also! Was it real crab??? Of course not. $15 for a roll I can literally eat in three bites. Pretty sad. Back to the Kobe beef tacos, the price tag is just about where it should be, shockingly. Crazy expensive, tiny portion, but also very, very good. Problem is, I'm not coming back for 10 orders of Kobe beef tacos. IMO, if a Japanese restaurant (a US version that is) can't get a basic Cali roll down, AND charges out the wazoo for it, it's certainly not worth my money. If you're crazy rich and don't care, go for it read more

I have to say that I have not been as disappointed with a meal in a long time as I was with my dinner from Jing last night. I thought I would be posting a 5 star review, but, obviously, I am not. Was it awful? No. But definitely was not the culinary masterpiece that I thought I was getting. My family and I are here for a reunion, and last night was the only night that we didn't have a large function planned. So, we wanted something more upscale than the sandwiches and bar-b-q we'll be having for our next few dinners. My husband and I picked up dinner for us, my parents, and my brother and his wife. My parents have pretty small appetites, so we tried not to over order like we usually do. I was SO EXCITED about everything on this menu, especially the dumplings. I was not excited about the $250 bill for 3 orders of dumplings, 3 sushi rolls, and 1 order of noodles, but I thought it would be worth it. I was wrong. First of all, the portions are very small for what you're paying. We all looked at what came out of the take out bag and said "Is this it?!" Second, there was nothing spectacular about the food. The dumplings were all pretty bland. The rolls were ok, but not for almost $50 per roll (Aspen Roll). The best dish was the Singapore street noodles, but I can find those at 5 different restaurants at home in Phoenix. Everything was hot when we picked it up, and my brother's place is just a few minutes down the street, so I don't think this is a case where it would been any better if we ate in the restaurant. If we hadn't been so tired from traveling all day, we would have ordered a pizza to finish off the meal. Service was good, though. Whoever took my order over the phone was very friendly, and our order was ready when we arrived. read more

They get a 5 much like the Denver DTC location. I always take colleges and clients to the DTC location and love it. This location was just as good, and the menu was just as amazing but with many different options. They are just missing the buddha button drink from Denver! Both locations you can make a meal out of all apps and small plates, and is good for sharing! read more

Good was ok. Order a Peking duck not a usual Chinese style. duck was deep fry and there no pickle cucumber just plain cucumber. But if u in Aspen that the best u can get I guess. And overpriced too read more

Great service, great happy hour, great food! Would recommend the X Roll. Har Gow (shrimp dumplings) are also very good. Prime location and excellent vibe inside and outdoor on the patio. read more

Jing - Colorado Roll.... DELICIOUS - Sushi Bars Near Me - Aspen, Colorado

We used to love love love this place when it was Asie. When it switched over to Jing our experience changed. They changed the decor and the overall vibe was just not the same. Before it was uber friendly and almost homey. Food was awesome and prices, especially during happy hour, were the best in town. After the change it seemed like it was trying to become hoity toity a$pen and lost its local flavor. We sadly moved on. Well, last weekend we were starving at 4 and we thought, eh, let's try again and I'm so glad to say that it's back, baby! Sit at the bar if you can at all. The bar menu prices are unbelievable, and only surpassed by the quality of the fish. $4 for a huge piece of fresh-as-can-be sashimi? Are you kidding me? Bartender Erika offers perfectly concocted drinks and constant attention and the kids loved the seemingly endless dim sum options. We were even allowed to order from the menu and the Thai chicken basil and the seabass were just as good as the sushi. To top it all off, it has the friendly glad-you're-here vibe again and we just couldn't be happier. read more

They were not friendly, actually can be called rude. We ordered take-out. Their behaviour when to take our food and to pay was strangely rude. read more

stay away from this shit hole restaurant. They screwed up our order, didn't send us half our food and served us absolutely raw pork dumplings. We called to let them know and they took zero responsibility for the missed items and claimed the dumplings must be cooked because they're from an "outside vendor." They refused to even let us send them a photo of the raw pork and just didn't a want to deal with it. Absolutely repulsive food, overpriced, and horrible service. The manager was rude and extremely unhelpful, 10/10 do NOT recommend. There are WAY better eats in aspen. read more

Kale fried rice got this the only one star. We came here on Thanksgiving Eve, the food is average at best, but IMO the food quality is pathetic. The XLB were disappointing and the lamb was sad. Drinks are not worth the price. There is a service guy with a cap reeking of smoke (possibly drunk) cocky and patting guests on the back as if he is the king. Overall, I won't come here again, ever. read more

Snobby server, overpriced food. The fried whole fish was tasty but the seafood fried rice lacked flavor. Major disappointment. There are better places to eat in Aspen, I'd pass on this one. read more

This restaurant is a waste of money. Everything is completely overpriced, and the portion sizes on most meals are tiny. They automatically included a 15% tip on a takeout order for no reason. Not worth the money, and even if it was, it won't fill you up. read more

The overall experience was meh. I expected better service and quality food, particularly in Aspen. The service was average. The hostess and server gave the "we're in a rush" vibe. Kudos to the owner/manager for rounding at the dining area. The food was terrible. The wor wonton soup was okay; the taste was a little weird, but I guess that's the "fusion" in it. I tried the signature sashimi; the sauce was unremarkable. The Yellowtail cut appeared like the chef didn't know how to cut sushi, and the sizes were inconsistent. Most importantly, I ordered a Thai Basil chicken; I got a dish comparable to chicken with broccoli at Chinese fast food. The chicken and beef used in dishes have a weird texture similar to fake meat. The white rice was dry. read more

Went for lunch! The food was awesome, the service was so fast, outdoor patio is great, and everyone was really nice. We got the volcano calamari, shrimp tempura, California roll, crab wontons, and miso soup. It was well priced and tasted great. Thank you! read more

This restaurant is a hot spot for sure. We actually saw two celebrities and the atmosphere is hip and swanky. Even with a reservation we had to wait for 20 minutes to be seated which you never want to happen. We started with the Colorado sushi roll and the soft shell crab roll - both excellent. Next up the french onion soup dumplings (yum) and the crispy pork egg rolls - both small portions for the price. We shared the crispy honey prawns and scallops which the waitress said was a popular item. It was very good. The lobster seafood fried rice was the most disappointing part of the meal as it didn't have enough flavor or pizzazz to justify the $50 price tag. With the bottle of wine our bill came to $300 so quite a sticker shock which would be worth it for a special occasion like us on our honeymoon. read more

A group of five had dinner at Jing last night and the service and the food could not have been better. The quality of every item was perfectly crafted. If you're looking for inexpensive lunch sushi Jing is your go-to. My friends and I have sushi addictions (lol) and ordered 5-6 times for lunch the two weeks we were in town. For $7 the roles were alright. Not amazing, not horrible. You get what you pay for I guess. Honestly the rice was the only thing that really needed improving. Wish they would let us pay over the phone and bring it out to the car. Overall we scratched our sushi itch. read more

It takes a lot to earn a 1* review. Particularly when the staff in friendly, the service is attentive and the presentation is good. But in the restaurant business the single most important item is the food. Which at Jing is mostly mediocre. We had tuna, salmon and yellow tail sushi and it was flavorless. As in much worse than the sushi you get at a California strip mall joint but about 3x higher price. The lobster salad was also a major disappointment - instead of nice flavorful buttery lobster you get small goopy bits slathered in some sauce. Thankfully the shrimp pot stickers were edible but about 4x dim sum price In pricey SF. With some sake the total w tip was well north of $200 for poor quality fish. at this prince the food needs to be stellar not average. Avoid at all costs. read more

Here's where fresh sushi & culinary cuisine meet. This place is my favorite restaurant in Aspen & one of the best Sushi I have ever had. It is on scale with a top NYC sushi establishment. It blows away the competition down the Strrt Masawhoshu. This place has many cooked food options that will blow your mind such as the Fried rice. It's gourmet & the sushi, melts in your mouth. Be prepared to be impressed with this over the top, great fresh sushi & over the top, culinary expertise in the kitchen. Every single item I have ever eaten here has been fresh as fresh gets even on a Sunday or Monday or any day of the week!! I could not believe it until o tried. The owner is also so kind he goes around the tables & greets you & actually makes you feel welcome & appreciates your service. Unlike some other restaurants who make you feel unwelcomed as the sushi place down the Strrt Masssushi & Meat & Cheese, Betula, Catch Steak or the Monarch... stay clear of any of those!! They either have terrible service and/or bad food of some sort or horrible experience!! read more

Friendly staff. Fresh ingredients and new styles on classic sushi and Japanese/Chinese menu options. What's not to love?!?! ... Always have a great experience here with local friends and is a must for family and visiting friends. The atmosphere is much cleaner, less stuffy/=trendier and has a hipper younger vibe then any other sushi spot in Aspen, AND you have to love the bar specials and different events like live dj specials during the winter and off-season local love on menu specials for the entire restaurant. If you go, sit in the patio during the summer or go in and ask for Erica, Adam or Hunter at the bar! They're the friendliest experts on all the dishes AND they've been in town long enough to know all the hot spots to check out for hiking, skiing, biking and where else to dine and make the rounds in Aspen! If you're really lucky ... Frank the owner, will ask your party to do Sake Bombs to make a most memorable night out in downtown Aspen. read more

The service was great and very friendly. The bartender, Hunter, is so sweet too. We didn't order drinks for dinner but for food we got: vegetable dumplings (expensive and not worth it), Kung poa eggplant (good), crispy tofu (okay), and vegetable egg drop soup (this was good). Overall the food was okay, nothing blew our minds. We ended up using a lot of their spicy sauces to flavor the meals. I did love the atmosphere of the restaurant and the service was friendly. read more

$$$$ I would give them a five star review if the portions justified the price. I don't mind paying a high price if portions and or specialty items justify it. Staff was really nice Food tasty Tables uncomfortably close together. Sat one foot away from large groups on all four sides and they aren't checking for vaccinations cards. Thai Chicken Basil was decent tasting (albeit the chicken was a lil rubbery and luke warm), but it doesn't justify the small portions, 15% gratudity for take out, and leaky container. This small parcel of food was $35. Anywhere else it would be half of that read more

Food was amazing!! Kid friendly. I was very surprised at how delicious their dim sum was, the lobster dumpling was mouth watering. The Aspen sushi roll was delicious. The chicken with basil entree was so tasty and the chicken was tender and perfectly seasoned.
