I've come to Jindi for dry cleaning for a couple years since moving to San Francisco, and she's never let me down. All of the suits, pants, and dresses that I've needed her to care for have come back clean and nicely pressed or steamed in a timely manner, and each time I'm amazed at the quality of her work for the price that she charges. It can be easy to think of dry cleaning as a form of glorified ironing if you aren't aware of the process, but in my most recent visit, I had several stains and loose buttons on a suit jacket that she resolved in a week. She's flexible yet realistic with these deadlines, and I'll keep coming back here. She reminds me of my own mom, who taught me to care for our garments from a young age. It's not considered customary to tip a dry cleaner, but I will continue to. read more

Jindi is amazing. She's such a sweet lady and she always wants to get the job done right. I have a tendency to bring in dry cleaning or wash and fold just a few days before I need it and she is always more than accommodating. For wash and fold, everything is folded perfectly and then wrapped with paper. She even organizes all of the clothes into different piles. One time I needed to pick something up but was barely going to make it there before their 7pm closing. I called Jindi and she said not to worry, that she would stay open a little later to let me come grab my dry cleaning. Best dry cleaner in the area! read more

I love Jindi's! This shop is very efficient and transparent. When they dry clean the clothes, they try multiple times to get all the stains out. If they're not able to fully remove them, they will show you the spots they could not remove when you go to pick up the clothes. Jindi always asks when I'd like to pick up the clothes and always follows through on the time commitment. Compared with other dry cleaners, I find the price at Jindi's to be very reasonable. Jindi's is awesome. She really takes pride in her work and will only do the alterations if she can. She is up front and honest about not being able to do something so you are not unhappy. Usually I only have been going to her for alterations, but now will try the dry cleaning as well since I was dropping off a bunch of clothes for alterations. She is reasonably priced and will get it back to you in a timely manner. I did find out she has next day dry cleaning or pressing if you drop your clothes off before 9am, and could get it back the next day. She has to send it out since her store isn't big enough for the dry cleaning. Jindi is super sweet and has been doing this for over 20 years. Her experience shows in her work. Shockingly unreasonable alteration prices. I'd been going to Jindi for months with my dry cleaning needs and alterations for fairly reasonable rates until i brought 2 dresses to be shortened recently. Because I've had similar services done before in the range of $15-20 per item, I did not get a quote from them on how much this round of services would be. My Bad. To shorten both dresses 3 inches each, they charged me a whooping $40 for EACH dress. The dresses were from Anthro on sale and i got them for app $60 each. With the alteration, my dresses became $100 EACH. Besides shortening the dresses, Nothing else was done to the dresses. I was Stunned when she told me the alterations would be $80 total. I thought I had misheard the prices. The 2 other customers who happened to be in the shop were equally stunned. When i asked her why it cost so much, she told me "because i had to cut off so much fabric" WHAT? I wasn't asking her to transform a Maxi dress into a mini- it was a 3" alteration; i've never heard of places charging alterations per inch! I'm saddened that I cannot support this business again. It was painful to have to go to another Cleaner to get my dresses, jackets and coats dry-cleaned and altered. read more

I am just really annoyed because I dropped off a coat here last week for them to clean but when I came to pick it up before work ~7 days later, they told me that they didn't wash the coat yet because the tag said not to dry clean. Okay, that's understandable because they don't want to be liable for ruining my coat, but then I didn't really care because I just did not have any time to do laundry so I told her to ignore it and go ahead and wash it anyway. But then I show up the next day hoping to pick it up and wear it to work, and she basically told me they are refusing to wash it because they don't want to ruin it. Did I not already tell her it was okay to wash it? It was just really frustrating to hear this because I don't have much time to do laundry -- probably once every couple weeks and I'm telling her it's okay if the material gets cracked. Honestly, if this happens in the future they should CALL the customer instead of having me wait around for a week or two before taking back the same unwashed clothes. Also, I noticed that the hours on this page are wrong. They are open at 7:30AM, not 9AM like it is listed on this page. Closed Sundays. read more

Went to Jindis to get a bridesmaid dress altered and the service was below average and she stained my dress. She told me to get higher shoes instead of hemming the bottom, she told me to get a new bra instead of putting pads into the dress, and she said the only way to take in the dress was to add two whole new seam lines instead of using the existing seams. $55 to shorten straps and take it in. Very overpriced. Worst part is, the dress came back with a new stain on it (it looked like a greasy fingerprint like she had been eating while working on my dress). She did send it out for dry cleaning, but this delayed everything and was overall a terrible experience. Would not recommend read more

Affordable pricing and quick turnaround, what more can you ask for from a dry cleaner? I've regularly used dry cleaning services for 5 years now and Jindi's is one of the most reliable places I've tried. Now that I life in SF it is my go to! The lady is so sweet and very meticulous about her work. She always explains to me which stains didn't come out and also which items probably shouldn't be dry cleaned. My only complaints would be that they don't accept cash and the shop is not open on Sundays. Besides that, I think this place is solid for their service. Definitely the best tailor/cleaner I've found. My favorite pair of jeans needed mending and to be taken in, and after taking them to a reputable tailor in socal, they were horribly botched and poorly mended. So when I got back to the city, I took them to Jindi's. Perfectly mended and tailored (she even undid the poor job from the previous tailor), quick turn around time, and about 1/3 of the cost of the other place. I also had a very nice/expensive blouse laundered that had been stained and can attest to the quality of the dry cleaning. no more stains, and no damage to the delicate blouse! 10 min. loading zone in front of her shop from 9am-6pm M-Sat, but one downside is that it is cash only, so be prepared, though her costs are so inexpensive that you'll typically have enough cash on hand. read more

I've been to many great restaurants/hotels that are 5-star worthy, but somehow I never bothered writing a Yelp review. But Jindi's is really off-the-chart: 1) Living in Russian Hill, kindda hard to find a place that still charges $1/pound for wash and fold 2) Dry clean is great, they will re-do it for you if there are smirches that don't come off 3) They are very thoughtful about checking pockets/saving stuffs. I once accidentally left a very expensive jade amulet type of thing in one of my pockets. I thought I lost it and was sad about it for days, until I found out they not only found it, but they also put it in a great little plastic bag. Wanting 3 very full bags of laundry (including comforters) washed and folded, same day on a Saturday was an "I'm sorry, we can't, but we'll do just the bedding for you" on the phone. By the time 5pm rolled around and they called to let me know my laundry was done - they'd done the whole lot. I was SO happy! Parking outside the door, super nice people. I went there because of Yelp, and was very happy I did. If they weren't 7 blocks away, including a hill, they'd be my regular spot. For now, I'll go when it really matters. I love this dry cleaner. I dropped off a pair of jeans to get the hole repaired. They fixed it by the next day, but missed one of the holes. While they charged me $15, they offered to fix the other hole also free of charge. They were prompt, did an exceptional job, and courteous. Definitely my go-to spot in my neighborhood. read more

When I moved into the city, I thought it would be really cool to have a dry cleaner that knew your name. It makes no sense to me, as I use her services but once or twice month, but I do in fact have a dry cleaner that knows my name. I had moved to Hawaii and came back and was pleased to see that they were still doing business. Dry Cleaning is reasonable and the turn around time is excellent. After looking feverishly for a decent dry cleaners, I decided to go with Jindi's place. Needless to say, they went above and beyond what I had asked. Here's the story. On Thursday afternoon I had dropped off some suits, one only dry clean and the other two for hemming and dry clean. She said that it would be ready on Tuesday and I said that was okay. Well I get a call right after I had dropped off the suits. I need to be in New York for the week for meetings. I need my suits. So I ran back up there and asked if she could get it to me on Saturday. I was so apologetic about the rush and changes. She said she will try her best cause she had just sent them out to be hemmed, but reassured me that they would be ready. And yes they were. Yeahhh!!! I was so scarred from my previous SF dry cleaning experience (at a place with a seemingly high rating, no less) that I haven't dared to take any of my nice clothes in, anywhere. However, I found myself desperately in need of a dry cleaner for a holiday party dress. After some extensive Yelp research, I decided to give Jindi a try. The shop is small and bright. Jindi is very kind and thorough; she conscientiously examined my dress when I brought it in and made sure she noted down any details. Jindi has been my favourite dry cleaner for over five years. She is friendly, very reasonably priced and has never ruined a piece of my clothing. Jindi is great! The best dry cleaner/ tailor that I've been to. She's done everything from my weekly laundry to tailoring a variety of clothing/bags to cleaning my monstrous feather bed. She is quick, friendly and is always smiling. A friend from work still comes in from Marin to have her tailoring done at Jindi's. I've been really happy with everything at Jindi's. She is incredibly friendly and will even remember your name if you haven't been there in awhile (her memory is seriously impressive). The dry cleaning service is great and they've done a good job getting out stains. They charge reasonable prices (I don't know the exact pricing because I've always gotten a bundle of clothes cleaned) and are reasonably fast too. If you have a rush job, Jindi does her best to accommodate your request. I've been really impressed at the care they use when also hanging my clothing. With certain sweaters, hanging them on a hanger might make mishapen it. They fold them and hang them in a way that won't destroy it. I highly recommend Jindi's! After looking on Yelp for a new cleaner, I found Jindi's which is conveniently around the corner from my apt (or is it Cindy's? I still can't tell....and I'm the type of person who never learns a name on the first introduction and will meet you again and call you "buddy" or "dude") Anyhoo took some shirts in the first time, and the friendliness that everyone describes was in full effect. Even the bill for 4 shirts was not terrible at a little over $9. Then I took in 3 pairs of khaki/dress pants, 2 of which needed to be hemmed and the third just cleaned and have stains removed. Not only did they all come back perfect, but I received a call from Cindy herself telling me about a tiny hole on the back pocket where I keep my wallet. She was concerned about being able to see the fix if I wanted it patched, and I told her it was OK and that I would look when I picked them up. Well to my surprise she was able to fix it without it even looking like anything has changed! I was really impressed by this toughtfulness and consideration.
