The actual service provided (roadside towing) was adequately performed. But they are predatory price gaugers. If you are stuck on the side of the highway in the middle of the night in freezing temps (as I was), they will fully exploit your predicament for maximum profit. Not only was the original price they quoted exorbitant, but they even added on to it (for no reason) after the fact. I wonder how people like this sleep at night. read more

If I could give this ran down "business" a rating to get them completely put out of business, I would. I have never in my life felt so much rage due to the feel of discrimination and racism. The glares and verbiage I received from two of the girls and a large sized, old, bald man working the front window was absolutely befuddling. My vehicle was towed away from my job and unfortunately it was picked up by these people. When I initially called for confirmation of it being in their possession, the lady who answered may as well have been a doorknob because I got nothing out of her except their "hours of operation" and a snobby attitude as if she knew me personally. Fast forward, upon arrival I was quoted $608 to get my car out and it was literally there from 2/24/2022 @4pm-11am the very next morning...HOW?...Anyone in their right state of mind would question this. My concerns definitely bothered them and they never provided a break down of what I was being charged for specifically. Due to the field I work in and the lady prejudging me from the phone call, I strongly feel like they predetermined what they'd charge me under the hopes that I was unable to pay for it ?! They escalated the entire situation and it resulted in them threatening to call the police, as if they were the victims...typical Karen behavior. I guess they figured we'd get shot and it'll all be over with (that's how they made me feel). The only reason I was able to retrieve my car was due to Ron, he was the epitome of a sweetheart. He deescalated the situation due to his calm nature and understanding of the issues we were having. You could clearly hear the big dude & 2 girls in the back room after they left the front window still ranting about not talking to us until the police came, as if it were to intimidate me ?!...there was a big glass window in place so I couldn't imagine how they would feel threatened in any way. Needless to say, RON should definitely be the owner of this place. I don't understand how places like these and its employees who clearly hate their jobs are still standing. I will give them a 3 star, only because once the tow truck driver arrived, he was polite, respectful and got right to work. HOWEVER....the dispatch woman was beyond rude. She also canceled my tow TWICE, stranding me and my 3 daughters on the side of the road south of Detroit at 1AM. The first time, she argued with me on what my AAA covered (I have the Plus, which covers up to 100mi, she insisted I only had basic and was telling me I would have to pay $160 to have it towed to my mechanic 28 miles away) and told me to call AAA to have them figure it out. Which, I did. However, they canceled AGAIN, apparently, stating they couldn't help me. And they never bothered to call me and tell me. I had to call AAA after over an hour of waiting for them to find out. Thankfully, AAA FINALLY got them to come out, but for over 2hrs, there were 4 women stuck on the side of the road outside Detroit in the middle of the night. April needs to find a better way of speaking to customers, but the man who towed my car was a sweetheart. read more

My father passed in March of 2021. I'm not sure how long the car was at this facility as my brother was dealing with everything. If you've ever lost a loved one you know how hard it is to get everything legal. He went to go get his belongings and she wouldn't let him in because "you better hope your dad isn't rolling in his grave. it's been a year". To day I was upset was an understatement. Save yourself time and frustration and call someone else. Holly was snarky, rude, unprofessional. For 3 hours past the original eta we were told the tow driver was finishing up and we were next, then headed our way. We were trying to move a damaged semi trailer to a cross dock to have the load transfer to a replacement trailer. It's Friday and the load had to be in PA on Monday. Late Friday when I called again, Holly became defensive when I asked for the driver's location (which was still 60 miles away) and told me rudely that I could always call someone else. Not once did she apologize. That's not the way to do business, I know, I own my business. But I did take her sarcastic advice and did call someone else. Shout out to Lyon's Towing who went way above and beyond, came out immediately, took the trailer back to their yard to transfer the load the next day on a Saturday when all cross docks were closed for the weekend. Since I AM a professional, I did give Jim's more courtesy then they gave me and called back to cancel their driver before they wasted their time. If I could give this company 0 stars, hands down I would. I had someone else pick me up, and I tried to literally get my shoes from my car and they called the police on me and tried to tow my friends car. Super inconsiderate and unreasonable. By law I am legally allowed to get my necessary belongings from my vehicle. April Peck looked very unprofessional, food in her mustache. IF I COULD GIVE THIS TOWING COMPANY 0 STARS I WOULD!! This place is a joke. Something really sketchy is going down here. They wouldn't let anyone grab their things out of the towed car without identification nor would they let you get your car out without the owner of the car being present.. but claim in different situations "they can work things out". On their company card it claims they're open 24 hours,, but that's only for towing. You can only get your car out between the hours of 9:30-4:30.. although while I was waiting TO BE PICKED UP AT 5:30 a worker told another person in the same situation, "you go 530 in cash" and he said I have "my card" and he responds and tells him to go to an ATM !!!WHEN IT WAS AFTER HOURS!! LIKE WHATTTT!! If that isn't shady I don't know what else to tell u ab this place other than they tried to keep my friends keys over night to reduce the cost for the tow!!! Called for a tow from Douglas and Lackey area to south Toledo because although they are in Michigan I saw several reviews saying they were towed to places in Toledo. They are listed on Yelp when I pull up towing near me AT MY TOLEDO home. When I called and asked for a quote the lady rudely said "you know we are in Michigan right" like I am an idiot. Yes I know you are in Michigan but I also know where my car is less than 5 minutes from the Michigan line. Which is probably why I saw a ton of reviews saying they were towed in Toledo by this company. My daughter locked her keys in her car and called to have them come and open it. When they opened it, the car alarm started to sound. When they were unable to make it stop, the technician's solution was to disconnect the battery AND LEAVE HER STRANDED with a non-functioning car! And, charge her $75 for the service call. Not acceptable.... not safe!! When my husband called about it, they made NO attempt to apologize or rectify the situation in any way. I have never ever left a negative review online for any business.... but this is a serious safety concern and I would not want anyone else left stranded by this irresponsible technician. read more

I had a terrible experience with Jim's Towing and I hope you never have the misfortune of dealing with them. My vehicle was towed on a Saturday night to Jim's Towing. When I called on Sunday I was told to pick up the car on Monday. I wanted the car out on Sunday so it cost an additional $130.00 to open up the shop on Sunday. In total, it cost $505.00. If that wasn't bad enough, when I walked outside to get my car, I was immediately told that any damage to the car was already done. My car was sideswiped from the driver's side headlight to the rear taillight on the driver's side. The vehicle was dented on numerous sections of the driver's side and white paint from the front of the vehicle to the rear of the vehicle. Amazing how they claim that the damage was not done at their shop. read more

DO NOT GET YOUR CAR TOWED HERE! They scammed my sister. She got in a accident. They towed her car to their location instead of our house as requested. They quoted a $150 plus $4 a mile. No other fees were discussed. We were then told that we could pick the car up the next day, that they were open 24/7, and they took credit. The next day we show up and there's no one there. It's closed. We called the woman on the phone she then told him about $200 worth of fees. Then she got really sweet. She yelled obscenities, insulted him and she interrupted him by yelling. Then we had to wait 40 minutes for an employee to show up which obviously cost $60. Then we were told they don't take credit all the time and this was one of the times they didn't. This entire experience has been costly and unpleasant. The employees were rude, and unhelpful. They took the car and didn't tell me the real price till it was in their lot. So only go here if you want terrible service and to be ripped off. read more

The wait for a tow was absolutely ridiculous. We connected with Jim's Towing through AAA. At first I was quoted 45 minutes, around 50 minutes I called, and was told the wrecker was on the way. 15 more minutes passed and I called the main office again. The woman I spoke to was incredibly rude, would not give me a quote for the time, and acted extremely put out that I insisted on the quote. 10 minutes later the wrecker finally arrived and Dave was extremely helpful and arrived at the mechanics office promptly. read more

THIS IS THE WORST TOWING COMPANY OUT THERE. I advise you to never, ever park anywhere because these people abuse their towing authority to the absolute max. I've never seen more hatred and putridity in a company in my whole entire life. They are the biggest scammers out there and make $485 off of every car they tow. Their shop is located in Monroe, the dead city in Michigan, and they abuse the right to tow and max out their benefits. Their hours of operation are horrible and very upsetting to see. They have very few hours that you can come and pick up your car or come to the office and speak to someone. They have no lack of judgement when it comes to figuring out the situation at hand and the tow that is being structured. They will run out of business because of this stuff. On top of all this they have the audacity to respond on the phone with attitude and full tone of harassment. I called them and they answer as if they are asleep or something and can barely even speak and lift up the phone to speak. I was asking about my car and the women starts to interrogate me and have a back and forth argument with me that I am a liar. Like what is this? This is an embarrassment to the towing industry really. I really hope you guys fix yourselves or the court will do it for you! If I could give a negative review I would. My vehicle was involved in an accident, the police requested the tow from Jim's Towing and my vehicle was towed to their lot. They arrived on scene and were cordial enough and the person on the phone was cordial but that's where it stops. For one day of storage and the tow, they were going to charge me $500. I asked that they bill AAA and that I would like to use my free AAA tow to cover it and they refused. They also do not accept credit cards and I had to pay in cash in person. They are great at getting your vehicle to their facility to charge you for it and will stall to rack up the charges. Not at all helpful when you're recovering from an accident. I will never recommend Jim's Towing to anyone. read more

Excellent service from Jim's Towing. AAA sent them out to help with a flat tire (thanks to construction on 75S where I picked up a metal piece of something). Arrived timely and when they said they would. Cheerfully crawled under the SUV and got the rusty, dirty spare tire off the bottom and put it on in no time. Had some great conversation with Forrest about the totally blinged out tow truck he showed up in. If I have to call for help in the Monroe area again, will ask for them. read more

Great job! Our car died on Telegraph Rd. in Monroe, MI, heading south to Toledo. AAA hooked us up with Jim's. We didn't have to wait long, the young man who helped us (forgive me, this was two weeks ago and I've forgotten your name) was pleasant and professional, got my 10-yr-old Subaru Forester winched up on the truck and towed us (my wife, father-in-law and myself in the huge cab) to the dealer in Toledo. And, maneuvered that big truck through the narrow parking area near the service dept. putting the car down right in a parking spot. Pretty cool. Also cool, their new huge truck with all the flashing lights - great service and some entertainment. read more
