It was an absolute pleasure to meet the ladies at female-owned A1 Auto Center. Heather, Brandi and Judy. @A1AUTOCENTER I had my vehicle looked at by a shop located in Flat Rock who quoted me several thousands for an entire replacement of rack n pinion... Wanting a second opinion and feeling something was off (way off) i found A1 Auto on Monroe and Friends and brought it in. The tech came out with a odd look on his face and said "I don't know why that other shop wanted to replace the entire rack n pinion, we can only find a leaking power steering pump. At best it might just need some new hoses. At worst it needs a $500 pump and that's it!!" First time visiting this shop and they've saved me several thousand dollars already. Why do some of these other shops find woman as easy targets to rip off? HOW is that a good business practice? A1 Auto Center's motto is WE'RE LADY FRIENDLY and I AM LOVING IT! I called them to help an elderly man with severe dementia get his keys out of his locked car, and when the older gentle man (who can barely communicate and didnt even know where he was) said could not pay they threw his keys back in his car and locked it up. instead of coming inside and consulting us they gave us a call (after leaving the 90 Year old man in the cold) telling us not to "waste our time time, he's broke" we would have gladly paid and not left a lost old gentleman in the freezing weather alone. read more

Taken it in for plugs 750.00 and 40 to 80 more per plug if they broke and I took to the dealer 360.00 dollars and curious ask if any broke (no) and I put all my front end parts on for an alignment and took it in and drove out with my steering wheel reading 9:00 position oh im sorry! and still was not straight second time! well they lost my business crooks! read more

This place totally rocks. I have taken my Jeep Wrangler in here twice. Once, for a heating and battery problem, and the second, for a belt that needed to be replaced. Both times, they were very on top of things and professional, and gave me a AAA discount without my even asking. The second time, I took it in, and it was done like two hours later, which was great since we were getting a blizzard in our area and I needed my car back since it is the best one I have in snow. Prices are super reasonable and the staff is very nice. HIGHLY recommend. read more

A1 Auto is my favorite place to go when I need my vehicle repaired! The two ladies in charge make you feel very welcomed and most of all it is an HONEST repair shop which is very rare these days! I'm a disabled person that's on an extremely fixed income. I went today for brakes since they were making a noise. They told me my brakes were fine & that my back brakes were like new and my front brakes would be good for a while yet! The noise was caused by my rotors which had some corrosion since I don't drive a lot. If you want Honesty, take your vehicle to A1 Auto!!! read more

I'm from Texas, working up here and needed a brake inspection performed. I called on Monday 7/9/18 and was told they could get it in on Tuesday 7/10/18 at 10:00am. I asked if I could drop it off Monday evening and she said yes they have a drop box. I filled out the form and asked to be called before performing any corrections. I was contacted around 1:30-2:00 on Tuesday, told the front brakes and rotors needed replace but the rear brakes still had 8mm left. I was also informed of a seal leaking on the rear axle, ABS light on and Brake light on which I had already been informed of at a prior service elsewhere, but appreciated the thoroughness. I asked when they could get it complete as I was renting a vehicle to get to work and back. She said they'd have it complete that day and I could pick it up by 5:30pm. The price was fair and I also received a discount for being a AAA member. I would recommend this place for any service, the one complaint I have is they are not open on Saturday. That makes it tough for those of us that work all week to get our vehicles serviced here. read more

Left Dearborn to travel to Ohio to visit family when my check engine light came on. Stopped at Auto Zone in Monroe for a diagnosis. It was a fuel pump issue and the technician recommended A-1 Auto Center. They replaced the defective part and even gave me a cup of coffee!! One of the best places in town to have auto repairs done. They are upfront, honest, reliable and very professional. As a woman I usually get looked down upon in auto repair shops not here. This place is staffed by women. Gotta love it! Best place in town hands down! These mechanics definitely go above and beyond every time. Their work ethic and service shines above everyone else. I give this place a 1 because I can't give it a 0 but anyways, this auto shop claims to be "lady friendly" but do not let that fake persona fool you. I had a good friend go to this joke of a shop to get her brakes and air condition fixed which was quoted to be $200 but the woman who owns A1 Auto center (blond woman and at the main desk) told her that her car was having more problems and that they would need to keep it over night. The next day they said she had supposedly put tainted gas in it. (which was from a Meijer gas station and my friend had had no problems with it before going into A1 Auto center) This blond woman then told her it kept stalling and in their words "would not run" but the funny thing is that she drove the car there and there was no indication that that problem was even beginning to start. Instead of doing the cheaper and easier test on her car they replaced everything they claimed was "messed up or broken" and then charged her an alarming $700 more and her bill turned from $200 to $800. So all in all I would say to stay FAR away from this one because it seem that the only thing this store knows how to do is take up your time, money, and trust. They will lie straight to your face and when confronted about their lies they simply just evade them. So the best thing to evade A1 Auto Centers everywhere. read more
