Went this afternoon to the Jim restaurant on Nacogdoches and 1604. The waitresses were very nice and friendly. The food was delicious. The tortilla soup and the sandwich is my favorite will not change it up. It just needs a little more cleaning instead of them standing around and looking on their phone and not cleaning. That's what they should do. It needs more cleaning the restrooms need to get steamed in the toilet there's still mold or replace the toilet and do a steam cleaning around the hole Restaurant. It's a very good nice place to eat. The atmosphere is great. They hire friendly people that pleases the customer always hear nice conversations and very nice and polite. Waitresses will go back again. Just needs a little more cleaning in the bathroom and in the restaurant. read more

I always order pies for our Thanksgiving gathering. This year the strawberry pie was a disappointment. In the past years the pie filled with strawberries, but this year there was very few strawberries and there was more jell than anything else. It was a disappointment. Next time I buy a pie from Jims, I will look at them before I accept them. If they are not to my satisfaction, I will ask for a refund. read more

I have to give 5 stars for how well the staff here treats my parents. They are an elderly couple who have become regulars, and the staff really treats them well. They even brought me for lunch when I was in town to meet Marcus, their favorite server (although they appear to know several others that work there too!). He was a riot, and he did take good care of us. The food is your typical diner fare, and it was what I expected. I did love that the waffle has the Jim's logo on it! But mostly I have to give a shout out and thank you for being so kind to my elderly parents. You really brighten their day, and that is special! read more

It's a Wednesday evening and there's a wait. There are 4 parties ahead of us and we're told it'll be a 15-20 min wait. That was pretty accurate but it's awful when there are so many empty tables. Evidence that they are understaffed. Their pie case at the front register area is covered with Christmas decor so no pies are visible. Speaking of pies, the servers have t-shirts on that advertise their $9.99 holiday pies. When I ask if they have pumpkin, she says no, that they just have Lemon Meringue. Phooey. For a brand known for pies, that's a huge let down. Our server tells us the refrigerated pie display up front has been broken for months and their request to have it fixed is being ignored. The best way to not sell something is to not show it off. My husband and I like to have breakfast for dinner when we're at Jim's, so eh gets steak and eggs. I get the chopped steak dinner. My favorite meal is chopped steak patty with sautéed onions and mushrooms and they never get this wrong! Our meals are really good. Our server is sufficient. She takes our drink order first, then our food order and comes back to deliver our food. I don't think she checked on us once, though. No matter, as I had no problem calling her over when I needed her. The check out process was a sh%* show. There were people waiting to be seated, a man in line to pick up a to-go order and others trying to get on the waiting list. The girl behind the counter just kinda twiddles her thumbs standing around or looking lost. Another worker is on the phone. The manager just looks annoyed and when he asks me for my check, I let him know that I never received one and just want to pay and leave. He asks me 3x where we were seated so he can pull up my table's check and I point to the same dang table. He's also very distracted so it's no wonder he's getting frustrated. He's banging away at the touch screen in front of him and finally, after standing in line and on front of him for about 8 minutes, I am able to pay. Sheesh. Very disorganized. We probably won't be coming back anytime soon or even thinking of stopping for a pie here. There are too many other options out there that work much harder for my business. read more

We visit this Jim's about once a month for breakfast. Today's visit was definitely better than the other visits! We arrived pretty early in the morning so we were sat right away to a newly disinfected table! Our waitress Christy came right over for drink order and brought them back very quickly. She took our food order with a bright and bubbly attitude. About 5 minutes later she brought our food out, with all the fixings! Salt, pepper, Cholula, hot sauce, butter you name it! My wife got the kids breakfast with bacon and over easy eggs, the egg was runny just how she likes it, the bacon crispy and the hash browns cooked to perfection! I got the Texas omelette with grits! All the meat was perfect and the omelette cooked perfectly! Christy definitely made this visit great, we hope to get her again in the future! read more

I've come with my family a couple times and I've also come to do deliveries as well. When I came with my family, the servers were nice and the food was decent. When I come to do food deliveries, there's always a super rude woman behind the counter. It seems like a common theme of dismissive behavior. You can tell she doesn't want to be there or be bothered. I was SOOOO disappointed with Jim's this Friday for Veterans Day!! They did not have ANY DISCOUNTS OR FREE MEALS FOR VETERANS!!! Who does this in San Antonio TX?? We are still Military City USA!!!
