I was nervous after reading the reviews but came in for lunch. We were pleasantly surprised! Our waitress was friendly and attentive enough. Food was good! Clam cakes had huge clams in them and tasty! Clam chowder was thick, hot and full of clams and potatoes. A big serving of lobster salad in my lobster roll. Tuna was great and my friend enjoyed the shrimp tacos. I love the dockside deck you eat on - and the family friendly atmosphere! We will be back!

Stopped by Jim's Dock on a gorgeous weekday afternoon a few months back, and it was such a treat! The relaxed, beachy vibe made it the perfect setting for a laid-back meal. Since it was a quieter day, we got to pick almost any seat we wanted--talk about prime waterfront views! Our server was awesome--super funny and easygoing, which only added to the good vibes. Quick note: it's BYOB, so plan accordingly if you need a beveragino. I went with their signature fish and chips, and it was a winner. The fish was coated in a crispy cornflake dredge that hit all the right notes--crunchy perfection. The fries were nothing to write home about. On the other hand, the calamari appetizer? Absolute gold. Tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked--I'd order it again in a heartbeat.

Gave this a 4 star rating! I would've given a 3.5 but close enough... My brother-in-law and I stopped there for lunch, because the other major hotspot, was too busy. We ordered Clam cakes, stuffy's, New England clam chowder and lobster bisque for lunch.

Wow! Perfect evening! Friday night dinner was awesome. Fried clams and scallops (yes....scaaaalllooops....) were great! Service with our waitress Emma even better! Jim's Dock nailed it from the moment we arrived thru dessert! We will be back for sure!

5 stars for a wonderful experience, ambiance, hard working and the nicest employees. NE clam chowder was hot and tasty. Swordfish dinner with rice and green beans was fresh, hot and delicious. Swordfish taco special was excellent! We can't wait to go back.

If you are in the South County / Point Judith / Galilee area, Jim's Dock is a seafood option on the water. It's a place to relax and to order grilled scallops, mussels and fish & chips. The convenient location of Jim's Dock makes it easy to reach by car. If you want to experience fast service, you should go to this place. Our waitress Anna was a delight, very - sweet and very attentive. A nice asset to the restaurant. - Fish and Chips - The fish was nicely fried and brown, but the overall flavor profile was bland...... the fries were not crispy at all, they were mushy and flat...not good at all........tasted and looked like the ones you would get in a cheap supermarket frozen food aisle. Other reviews from recent guests corroborate my feedback on the POOR QUALITY OF THE FRIES. Bad decision from their management to go with the CHEAP ones....To save a few pennies per plate with cheaper fries.....you have lost tons of customers.....Both of the plates with fries on our table left most of them un-eaten.... - Fluke sandwich - Again the fish was nicely fried, but the fries were not crispy. Really poor fries....Horrible fries.... - Mahi Mahi tacos - Fish pieces were nicely seasoned, but barely not veggies, no lettuce, no shredded veggies at all.. It was ok. Not sure I would bring my friends back here again....based on that poor food quality....maybe that's why the restaurant was not even busy...there were maybe 5 customer tables out of 20+ during a peak lunch hour time on a Saturday....I guess locals agree with my review...the place has lost its quality standard.

Solid local fish, simply prepared. BYOB is a nice plus. Typically long wait but worth the wait. Bring a cocktail and enjoy the Ambiance

Adam waited on us at the inside bar and provided phenomenal service. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and dedication to his guests are a tremendous asset to your establishment. I would be remiss if I did not also recognize Eve, Casey, Paige, Al, Jordan, Dan, and Jeff. You have an incredible service team that is second to none. We have spent time at both the restaurant and the Tiki Bar, and most recently we had the pleasure of being served by Gina, who was also exceptional. As a former employment recruiter, I can honestly say that I would be trying to recruit this incredible staff myself! They are dedicated, positive, hospitable, and take tremendous pride in both their professional and personal service. They consistently perform under maximum stress with efficiency, professionalism, and a smile. I understand there is currently a contest on Yelp, and we would like to nominate Adam. He embodies everything you could want in a member of your waitstaff: spirit, dedication, knowledge, enthusiasm, and genuine devotion to providing an outstanding guest experience. He has a wonderful ability to make guests feel as though they are not only being well cared for, but that he is genuinely enjoying his job as well. Choosing one person was extremely difficult because your entire team deserves recognition. However, Adam stood out as a phenomenal leader, and that is why we are choosing him for our nomination. I would gladly hire or recommend any one of these fine young men and women. They are truly exceptional representatives of George's. We wish those who are moving on to college or graduate school all the best in their future endeavors. We will certainly continue to frequent George's, as we have for many years, and look forward to seeing this wonderful team whenever we visit. Thank you for having such an incredible group of people representing your establishment. They truly make the experience special! Cousins, Annie & Tommy (Annie 401-241-9427)

The dining room side has a warm, classic hometown family vibe, while the bar feels like a cozy local watering hole where everybody knows everybody. Since the weather was gorgeous, we grabbed a table out on the patio overlooking the salt pond - absolutely unbeatable scenery for a laid-back afternoon. Our server was fantastic and took everything in stride. We all had a great laugh when we realized the gift certificate I handed her was literally older than she was! Shoutout to the management for honoring it without missing a beat. I ordered a cold Samuel Adams Summer Ale, which paired perfectly with the view, and we decided to split the Fish & Chips. It arrived as a huge piece of lightly battered haddock fried to absolute perfection - crispy, fresh, and super tasty, served with a generous pile of solid fries. I honestly can't explain why it took me 21 years to finally make it out here, but it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. I'll definitely be back way sooner next time to give some of their daily specials a try.

The only thing keeping this from a 5 star is the fact the ordering process - specifically the walk up area - is a bit chaotic as other reviews have written.
