We went for lunch on a beautiful summers like day. Ate outside on the patio, which could have been cleaner and nicer. Service was slow. Food was not very good, most of it was left on my plate. The French fries, buried under a piece of fish tasted like potatoes that were starting to go bad. The chowder wasn't very good either. Had I used the ladies room before we sat down, I would have turned around and left. Couldn't get the toilet paper to unroll, the hand dryer was out of order, no paper towel to dry my hands, one stall was taped shut with duct tape. Disgusting. This was our first time at this restaurant, never again. Spent approximately $ 70 on two lunch specials, a beer and tea. Not worth it at all. Our advice, go to the Matunuck Oyster Bar down the road. Buck a shuck LOCAL oysters everyday until 4pm! My husband said they were so clean and light tasting. I had the fisherman's platter which was delicious. Key lime pie tasted like I was back in the key West with how tart and creamy it was. The only thing I disliked was the clam chowder. But I would definitely return. read more

Our first stop on our roadtrip to Rhode Island for a Costal Weekend. This is a local watering hole, where you can slow down and have a drink while enjoying the sea breeze. A great place to relax after being in the car a few hours. But it gets busy after 7:00 pm and the parking lot was full. The fried haddock tasted fresh with a light breading. The focus was on the fish. I prefer a crispier beer battered breading. The clam chowder left me disappointed, I prefer a prefer a thicker chowder with more savory flavors. This felt like more of a soup. This was my first time ordering clam cakes. They were very similar to hush puppies. The service was an average experience. My wife and I live in Lincoln but we take the trip to East Matunick for the great seafood. My go to is the lemoncello shrimp over spaghetti and she gets the best clam cakes and chowder I have had anywhere. The desserts are giant made in house. The biggest eclairs you've ever seen and cheese cakes and other delicious choices. The rest of the wait staff most have been there for years and the younger wait staff have a smile and welcoming attitude. Came here at 11 am on a Saturday right at opening. Staff were ready to welcome us in. We opted to sit outdoors which was a patio overlooking a salt marsh. The server was friendly and made sure that we were doing well, she even came to talk to us about the bunnies and the birds that hang out in the area. Got the chowder and clam cakes. Chowder definitely had a lot of seafood and potatoes in it. Clam cakes are like big pieces of fried bread with clam in it. I've never had it before and was pleasantly surprised by the crispy exterior and soft chewy interior. It was a little too heavy for me so I only finished one cake. Family Favorite!! We always feel comfortable & laid back here. Love the nautical decor & the staff feels like family. Had the best lobster BLT for Valentine's Day. My husband is a lobsterman so I'm picky. Tons of meat and fresh. Great French fries too. Hubs loves the linguine and clams and prime rib when it's offered. Recently stopped in for the best Irish Soda Bread! (Should have bought 2!) and huge Zeppoli! Never skip dessert here. If we're too full, which happens a lot, we always pick something to go. Looking at the dessert choices in the case is a favorite family pastime while waiting for our meals. Looking forward to Easter, as we've spent the last 3 there. The ham is amazing! So for a seafood place this place is worst seafood I've ever had. They didn't season any of the seafood. Fried fisherman's platter 2 shrimp fried thats it no seasoning. 2 pieces of fish no seasoning, fried soggy some parts not even fully fried, scallop were bad fried and the scallop themselves were bad tasted like a penny fried(so food handling and inspection was not in their daily habits), 2 clam strips no seasoning. Calamari was like rubber bands fried, didn't taste like anything, even with the peppers... how do you have flavorless peppers? New England Clam chowder was quarter sized potato's 1 or 2 small pieces of clams and white water. I don't know how you make chowder that watery but I'm sure water was thicker than that chowder. Clam cakes had 2 pieces of clams and all dough fried. They didn't even season the dough! Who the hell is the chef there?! In total we spent 150 dollars for fried flavorless crap. I wouldn't have fed homeless people this food. My wife and her family used to go there when they were younger and said it was good... if this is Rhode Islands version of good you guys are better off eating at McDonald's or the trash. Do not sped a dimension on these people's food. You been warned. read more

Came in on a whim for a Sunday brunch. The view is fantastic, we watched a couple dig for clams wile we had drinks and some clam cakes. I had a Cap'n Jack's Bloody Mary and the DH had a Whaler's. I wish I could say the Bloody Mary was good, but it was just "meh", a little too watered down for my taste. The Clam Cakes we're good, fresh and hot! I ordered a bowl of clam chowder, again, it seemed a bit watered down and the potatoes were a tad undercooked. DH ordered the Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl, he enjoyed it very much! This last visit was really nice. We were seated in the sun room overlooking the salt marsh area and it was sunny and warm. We decided to try the seafood platter sampler which had all types of great fried seafood: Fish, clam bellies, shrimp, scallops. As well as french fries, cole slaw and tartar sauce. Everything was cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside, moist and flaky on the inside. The food was not greasy at all. It was a nice platter to share between two people. My friend and I ate dinner here tonight's ago and we're very happy... There was a beautiful outdoor seating overlooking a marsh. It was gorgeous! We both had the white clam chowder which is very disappointing, it was watery. I am used to clam chowder in the Boston area which is thick and creamy. The Bluemoon Belgian White beer that we had was delicious. Our dinner of grilled salmon and asparagus was fabulous... It came with rice which was nothing to write home about. Quick take out for dinner! Ready in less than 20 min. Filet haddock entree is massive, and could easily feed 2. New England Clam chowder was very salty and the clams were very chewy.
