Buck a shuck LOCAL oysters everyday until 4pm! My husband said they were so clean and light tasting. I had the fisherman's platter which was delicious. Key lime pie tasted like I was back in the key West with how tart and creamy it was. The only thing I disliked was the clam chowder. But I would definitely return.

Our first stop on our roadtrip to Rhode Island for a Costal Weekend. This is a local watering hole, where you can slow down and have a drink while enjoying the sea breeze. A great place to relax after being in the car a few hours. But it gets busy after 7:00 pm and the parking lot was full. The fried haddock tasted fresh with a light breading. The focus was on the fish. I prefer a crispier beer battered breading. The clam chowder left me disappointed, I prefer a prefer a thicker chowder with more savory flavors. This felt like more of a soup. This was my first time ordering clam cakes. They were very similar to hush puppies. The service was an average experience. Overall felt ok, not super impressed but not bad either.

Reasonably priced despite being near the water. Food isn't bad but I've also had better.

Two liked the Raw Oysters and Little Neck Clams served with three sauces: vinegar based, cocktail, and hot sauce. Three of us ordered locally caught baked Flounder. Very large piece of fresh harvested fish were succulent. Whole filleted fish? One ordered the Scallops. The large scallops are cooked perfectly and flavorful. A few days later, I ordered the Scallops at Champlins! Delicious My grandson ordered the grilled swordfish which I considered ordering. He wanted me to try a piece since it was perfectly cooked. It was not dry at all. My daughter had the broiled sea scallops, her favorite. We keep coming here because they serve great quality seafood that is prepared skillfully. Ambiance: Eating seafood seaside can not be beat. Champlain's is located in the scenic fishing village of Galilee in Narragansett, RI. You can watch the commercial fishing boats and the Block Island Ferry enter the port from the wrap a round windows on the enclosed deck. Prices are low to moderate.

You can sit there and watch the fishing boats come in knowing that seafood is about to end up on your table. It doesn't get more authentic than that. The calamari is cooked perfectly and so good. The littlenecks and steamers are my absolute favorite, I honestly have never had better. Everything tastes insanely fresh. The staff is what really makes it special. Some people have been working there for decades and it feels more like a family than a restaurant. Their bartender Kerri has won awards just for being herself, and once you meet her, you'll get it. It wouldn't feel like a real Rhode Island visit without stopping here. Champlin's is just one of those places you keep coming back to.

I assumed it was a line, but as it turns out, they hadn't opened the windows yet. That took about ten minutes. Fortunately once they decided to open up, they were pretty quick. We sat outside on the covered patio, which was great. We split a combo platter with calamari and oysters. Many fried items can be made gluten free in separate fryers, though it is a $4.50 up charge. My husband didn't care for the Cole slaw, but everything else tasted great! I loved the calamari and oysters. Definitely a place to stop into if you're in the area.

The location is hard to beat, especially when we can grab a table outside and bring the dogs along. My boyfriend loves the lobster bisque so much that I've genuinely seen him lick the bowl. His lobster roll looked perfect on our most recent visit, served on a buttery toasted bun and overflowing with large chunks of lobster. As someone who eats gluten free, I especially appreciate that Jimmy's has separate fryers. It's such a treat to be able to enjoy fried seafood without worry. From the fried scallops to the fish and chips, everything has been delicious. The generous portions, friendly atmosphere and dog-friendly outdoor seating keep us coming back. Thank you to Jimmy and the entire team for creating such a special place. We absolutely love it and can't wait for our next visit!

It has been a year since we have eaten food from Iggy's, and the food was as good as we remember. Today is further proof that seafood tastes better by the sea. Our order included: Gallon of NE Clam Chowder --creamy, chunky and flavorful) Even the children love it. Three dozen Clam Cakes --great texture, fried perfectly but needed more clam bits Three orders of Fish Fry --very large pieces of battered cod, fries and small coleslaw Four Fish Fry Sandwiches One Fried Shrimp One Baked Haddock dinner --excellent Kudos: Compostible cardboard is used for dinners and sandwiches. Bowls for chowder were also paper based instead of plastic. We placed the order online for pick up. The line wrapped all around the building, and you can instantly tell this spot has a massive, loyal OG following. Unfortunately, the crowd control was chaotic and felt a bit like a fire hazard--having a greeter or coordinator out front would help immensely. Inside, the vibe was a bit dated and unorganized. The Food: The Good: Great combo deals and convenient boxes. My friends enjoyed the chicken parm, shrimp fritters, and the fish looked amazing (I definitely should have ordered that instead!). The Miss: As a first-timer trying a Rhode Island lobster roll, I was pretty disappointed. It was dry, lacked butter, and the bread was slightly burnt. The Vibe: The place is heavily run by youth staff (complete with strict whiteboard rules!). Instead of just policing them, management should put their energy to work out front as greeters, handling menus, or running social media. It has tons of nostalgic charm, but feels like it's lost its touch. I'd give it a second chance next time I'm in RI--I'll just be skipping the lobster roll!
