I was nervous after reading the reviews but came in for lunch. We were pleasantly surprised! Our waitress was friendly and attentive enough. Food was good! Clam cakes had huge clams in them and tasty! Clam chowder was thick, hot and full of clams and potatoes. A big serving of lobster salad in my lobster roll. Tuna was great and my friend enjoyed the shrimp tacos. I love the dockside deck you eat on - and the family friendly atmosphere! We will be back!

Stopped by Jim's Dock on a gorgeous weekday afternoon a few months back, and it was such a treat! The relaxed, beachy vibe made it the perfect setting for a laid-back meal. Since it was a quieter day, we got to pick almost any seat we wanted--talk about prime waterfront views! Our server was awesome--super funny and easygoing, which only added to the good vibes. Quick note: it's BYOB, so plan accordingly if you need a beveragino. I went with their signature fish and chips, and it was a winner. The fish was coated in a crispy cornflake dredge that hit all the right notes--crunchy perfection. The fries were nothing to write home about. On the other hand, the calamari appetizer? Absolute gold. Tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked--I'd order it again in a heartbeat.

Gave this a 4 star rating! I would've given a 3.5 but close enough... My brother-in-law and I stopped there for lunch, because the other major hotspot, was too busy. We ordered Clam cakes, stuffy's, New England clam chowder and lobster bisque for lunch.

Wow! Perfect evening! Friday night dinner was awesome. Fried clams and scallops (yes....scaaaalllooops....) were great! Service with our waitress Emma even better! Jim's Dock nailed it from the moment we arrived thru dessert! We will be back for sure!

If you are in the South County / Point Judith / Galilee area, Jim's Dock is a seafood option on the water. It's a place to relax and to order grilled scallops, mussels and fish & chips. The convenient location of Jim's Dock makes it easy to reach by car. If you want to experience fast service, you should go to this place. Our waitress Anna was a delight, very - sweet and very attentive. A nice asset to the restaurant. - Fish and Chips - The fish was nicely fried and brown, but the overall flavor profile was bland...... the fries were not crispy at all, they were mushy and flat...not good at all........tasted and looked like the ones you would get in a cheap supermarket frozen food aisle. Other reviews from recent guests corroborate my feedback on the POOR QUALITY OF THE FRIES. Bad decision from their management to go with the CHEAP ones....To save a few pennies per plate with cheaper fries.....you have lost tons of customers.....Both of the plates with fries on our table left most of them un-eaten.... - Fluke sandwich - Again the fish was nicely fried, but the fries were not crispy. Really poor fries....Horrible fries.... - Mahi Mahi tacos - Fish pieces were nicely seasoned, but barely not veggies, no lettuce, no shredded veggies at all.. It was ok. Not sure I would bring my friends back here again....based on that poor food quality....maybe that's why the restaurant was not even busy...there were maybe 5 customer tables out of 20+ during a peak lunch hour time on a Saturday....I guess locals agree with my review...the place has lost its quality standard.

    Inside.

5 stars for a wonderful experience, ambiance, hard working and the nicest employees. NE clam chowder was hot and tasty. Swordfish dinner with rice and green beans was fresh, hot and delicious. Swordfish taco special was excellent! We can't wait to go back.

The person in front of us ordered a lobster roll, which he said was delicious. It had huge chunks of lobster, and my wife, who doesn't like seafood said she'd be tempted to try one. I ordered a cheeseburger, which was cooked to perfection and had a nice meaty flavor. My wife ordered a hot dog, which is kind of hard to go wrong with, but she said it was very flavorful, and my son got a cheeseburger as well and said it was very good. Ordering is at a window outside, and they call your name when your food is ready. They also offer ordering via their website for pick up. The restaurant is located at salty Brine State Beach, which is a large, sandy beach that's sheltered by rough water because of huge jetty's out in the water. If you come to the beach for the day, you can grab a quick bite when you're hungry, some ice cream when you want a snack and drinks throughout the day to keep you hydrated in the hot weather. Next to the order window are several metal tables on a large wooden deck in the open sunshine. If you'd rather sit in the shade, there's a large covered picnic area with picnic tables that overlook the channel. There's also an open area where you can setup you own chair and watch the boats in the channel. Because the restaurant is located at a state park, state workers are always coming by and sweeping, cleaning the tables and keeping the place in tip top shape. Also, because they don't want any trash ending up on the beach, there are no garbage cans nearby, and you have to bring it back to the ordering window for the staff to throw out. If you want the cheapest burger available, this isn't the place to go, but if you want a burger (or other food) that's prepared fresh, with prices similar to what you'd pay at a higher end fast food burger place, Salty's is worth a visit. The restaurant is open daily, 9AM to 5PM, closed on rainy days.

My dining partners had the fish sandwich (which I tried and will definitely make a trip back to order one for myself) and the other had a hot dog. That too was excellent! With the Fish and Chips came chowder and I chose my favorite - Rhode Island. That too did not disappoint. The flavor and portion were perfect. The staff is primarily young and energetic. Some may not like the easy going atmosphere but I enjoyed it. Their enthusiasm added to the upbeat vibe. I never saw one of them not working. The only thing keeping this from a 5 star is the fact the ordering process - specifically the walk up area - is a bit chaotic as other reviews have written. We went early enough so there was no line and only 1 ahead of us. However by the time we came left there was congestion roaming around the porch area and we had to weave through to get out and off the porch. If there is a way to keep those that have ordered from hovering around - that would be a big help. I'm looking forward to go back again soon!

The location is hard to beat, especially when we can grab a table outside and bring the dogs along. My boyfriend loves the lobster bisque so much that I've genuinely seen him lick the bowl. His lobster roll looked perfect on our most recent visit, served on a buttery toasted bun and overflowing with large chunks of lobster. As someone who eats gluten free, I especially appreciate that Jimmy's has separate fryers. It's such a treat to be able to enjoy fried seafood without worry. From the fried scallops to the fish and chips, everything has been delicious. The generous portions, friendly atmosphere and dog-friendly outdoor seating keep us coming back. Adam waited on us at the inside bar and provided phenomenal service. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and dedication to his guests are a tremendous asset to your establishment. I would be remiss if I did not also recognize Eve, Casey, Paige, Al, Jordan, Dan, and Jeff. You have an incredible service team that is second to none. We have spent time at both the restaurant and the Tiki Bar, and most recently we had the pleasure of being served by Gina, who was also exceptional. As a former employment recruiter, I can honestly say that I would be trying to recruit this incredible staff myself! They are dedicated, positive, hospitable, and take tremendous pride in both their professional and personal service. They consistently perform under maximum stress with efficiency, professionalism, and a smile. I understand there is currently a contest on Yelp, and we would like to nominate Adam. He embodies everything you could want in a member of your waitstaff: spirit, dedication, knowledge, enthusiasm, and genuine devotion to providing an outstanding guest experience. He has a wonderful ability to make guests feel as though they are not only being well cared for, but that he is genuinely enjoying his job as well. Choosing one person was extremely difficult because your entire team deserves recognition. However, Adam stood out as a phenomenal leader, and that is why we are choosing him for our nomination. I would gladly hire or recommend any one of these fine young men and women. They are truly exceptional representatives of George's. We wish those who are moving on to college or graduate school all the best in their future endeavors. We will certainly continue to frequent George's, as we have for many years, and look forward to seeing this wonderful team whenever we visit.
