Went to Jimmy's during the lunch hours for the first time, service was quick and the food was very good! I ordered the crabby chicken sandwich buffalo style. For lunch time, it was still pretty busy but our party of 7 was well taken care of.

My daughter gave me a dinner recommendation while I was traveling out of town so I decided to take it. I had previously planned on going to Jimmy's but the plans changed. This time it was just me so I made sure that I was going. The staff was very warm and welcoming. Since it was my first time eating there, they made sure to provide me with suggestions on what to get. Benjamin, my server, did not steer me wrong. I ordered the Old Bay garlic butter aged steak. Without a doubt, this was one of the best steaks that I have ever eaten. They served it as the perfect temperature as I requested. It was moist and juicy. The steak was very flavorful and tender. I could not have asked for a better meal. The dining room was buzzing with people having a great time and enjoying great food. I cannot wait to return again!

Back again and everything was exceptional- from the food to the service to the ambience on opening day for the Baltimore Orioles game. What more could you have asked for?

I took my family to Jimmy's last weekend and it was so great! We went upstairs and are there...the vibes were good, good music and nice staff. My only complaint is my seating we sat at a tall table and it was a little tight especially with two kids. But that's it! So the staff was great! I noticed that every server who walks past stops and checks in at the table so we felt very seen and that everything we wanted was addressed. We appreciated the courtesy. Our server Nikki was super friendly and made great selections. Ok so for food, we listen and we don't judge ok! My daughters had the Poboy with all the options for protein. My other daughter had the kids shrimp (which could full feed and satisfy an adult). Hubby and I decided to share apps we had: -crab cake egg roll (the slaw was amazing) -drunken crab bites -chicken and crab taquitos -garlic parm / lemon pepper wings -mozzarella sticks -boom boom shrimp but not the coconut one the other sauce -oysters -oyster Rockefeller -Derrick Henry roll - seafood burrito to go And i can say without a doubt we loved absolutely everything! We had full meals to go! And we will def be back. Everything was flavorful, sauced down so well, seasoned and cooked to perfection! The manager Gurvir even showed us around with a tour! Safe to say we will be returning and bringing everyone we know.

My 1st time in Baltimore I had to try the seafood. A friend, who joined us, recommended Jimmy's. He had been here several times and liked it. He has not stirred me wrong yet. We were a party of 5 showing up with a reservation. I could see one was not really needed. The decor, ambiance and vibe was hitting us in a very good way. The service was excellent. Everything brought out in a timely manner. We were checked on enough but not overtly excessive. I started with an old fashion. Decent, good enough to satisfy my craving and wet my whistle. We were looking for something exceptional and I believe we found it. All were in agreement to share the Seafood Tower. Crab Cake Egg Rolls, Mini Lobster Tails, Jumbo Calamari, Tequila Lime Shrimp, Jackpot (Clams Casino and Oysters Rockefeller), Grilled Octopus, Mussels Nirvana, and Famous Crab Dip. It was all so so delicious. Though the portions may look small it was more than enough to satisfy our fill. And well worth the price. I was also told you could order this nation wide. Give them a buzz to place your order. Growing up in the East Coast the thing I missed the most was blue crab. I ordered some excited to have satiated by craving. I was surprised how small they were and very salty. This would not do. In fact, I couldn't eat it. I ended up taking it back and making fried rice out of it. Being that small there wasn't much to pull off of it. Live and learn. My wife wanted mac and cheese. I'm not a fan but that was really good. Didn't feel like I was choking on cheese and it was good quality cheese. All in all it was a good experience and would come back again.

The thing that has brought me to Jimmy's is the Taylor Swift brunch parties. The first one was meh. The staff weren't very attentive (they were probably also overwhelmed), there wasn't any decor, and the food was underwhelming. And there was the manager/owner/whatever really pressuring folks to write positive Google reviews. The second one I attended (for The Life of a Showgirl release) was immensely better! There was decor, super cute placemats, etc. And the staff was more friendly, attentive, and engaging. Even the food was better. The upstairs bar area is smaller than I was expecting. But it's a nice space with a large square bar, plenty of TVs, and even a patio area. I'd be interested to sample the dinner menu and try more of the non-brunch options. So hopefully I'll find myself in Baltimore sometime where I can do that.

We stopped in to get our tailgoat passes and enjoyed a quick bite- their crab cake eggrolls are amazing. The pasta was nicely prepared and good. They have a huge menu but are known for their seafood and it's a great spot for a crab cake! Upstairs they have a large bar and seating and downstairs they have the larger area and another bar. Service is always really nice!

I got got by the Tailgoat. I didn't read closely so I showed up at the tailgoat yesterday sans ticket. Then I was told I could buy one by the door lady and didn't know it was like $85 with taxes. It's ayce and drink but the food was pretty gross and the beer selection was meh. It might be their gimmick idk I'm not local but the band was berating people for being on their phones and not having enough fun. The give aways were pretty wack Avoid the tailgoat

Was apprehensive since this place is SO infamous and I wasn't sure the place would live up to the hype. I have to say, I was impressed! The inside is much nicer than it looks from the outside. Very bright and spacious. We tried the crab dip (sorry - we destroyed it pretty quick so no photo) which came with a thick garlic toast. Yummm. My husband had the chicken Chesapeake with green beans. He was very happy. Said it was great portion and delicious. He also took down two of their Cinder & Smoke old fashioneds. I wasn't hungry enough for a full dinner so got a cup of Maryland crab soup, a raw bar sampler (a deal at $15!!) and some calamari (which was more then expected). Everything was delicious!! Can't wait to go back.

With this being a high recommendation from my favorite auntie and cousins who are like brothers to me, we decided to end our weekend trip with a meal here - and this ended the trip in a high note, leaving us stuffed and almost unable to head back up the road lol. We called ahead to see if we needed reservations and, because of the time of day we went and the fact we were just 20 minutes away, we didn't need them. But we got there at the right time because a rush of people came in like 15-20 minutes after we arrived. Anyways, the restaurant was giving the vibe it should be downtown or on the water or something, tons of seating inside and outside on multiple levels. Staff were great, including our amazing waitress who gave us some background on the restaurant and an awesome recommendation/validation of what I would order for my entree. Food and drink were top-notch! We got the Finger Food Sampler as our app, boyfriend ordered the Steam Pot and I got the Build Your Own Pasta with penne, seafood and the ecstasy sauce which came with a Caesar salad. Delicious! You could tell how fresh the seafood was and they don't skimp on the amount they put/use in each dish. And the portion sizes were wonderful - I had pretty much another full meal with the leftovers I took from here. Highly recommend checking them out! And we definitely plan to come back again - even for a day trip - to try more things from the menu.

We had an incredible time and ate far too much crab at Jimmy's. Our waiter had great recommendations including the Crab Egg rolls and Bluepoint oysters for my wife. My crab cakes were delicious but the sauce with them made it unforgettable! The crab dip was delicious, but absolutely needed more of the bread as there was just so much dip left! My only lowlight was the crab Mac which became just a bit too heavy and overwhelming. I'm sure it would've been great on its own, but with everything else we ordered, it was not something I would've paired with the rest of our very dense appetizers and entrees. We'll be back everytime we're back in the city.

    Seafood tower

Came here for my birthday. Decorated supper nice for the holidays. Our waiter was very attentive. We tried the seafood tower and liked how fresh and well seasoned everything was. The Oreo cheesecake was also yummy and light but very tasty. Some of the best cheesecake I had in a while! The orange crush was good, and was made with juice. I do prefer fresh fruit for the orange crush but overall very good, and I would go back.

This food was so good, I had to do a happy dance while eating it. Randomly ended up in Baltimore and decided to give this place a try. It's a really nice location with lots of indoor and outdoor seating but it was busy so we sat at the bar to avoid the wait time. I built my own pasta and I'm so happy I did. Seafood penne with some spicy sauce. So good!! The bar is nice, kinda small but there are a few TVs to make us for that. The bartenders seemed to have an attitude which is the reason for me not giving them 5 stars. The couple next to us noticed the attitudes as well so they left the bar to get a table. They were not attentive to us, and barely checked on us but they were real friendly towards other people. I'm not sure what that was about but after I finished enough of my food we left. Lastly, someone needs to monitor the bathrooms better because they were a mess. Overall, my food made up for the service.

Jimmy's Famous Seafood Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Jimmy's Famous Seafood

Are you guys open Xmas day this year? Found you on a list of places that may be open.

Yes, we are. We are open 365 days a year, including all major holidays

Is there a food menu available in the bar area (after the dining room closes)?

Absolutely. We stop seating in the main dining room 9 pm. However, the kitchen remains open to serve the bar area until 11 or 12 pm depending upon the day.

    Are reservations mandatory?

Reservations are not mandatory, but strongly suggested.

    Is there a dress code?

No, no dress code at the bar for sure. Shirts and shoes probably required. :) I would think the entire restaurant is come as you are, being a casual, crab restaurant (messy) as well.

Do they have bottomless brunches on the weekends?

    Yes until 2:00

    Is there parking on site?

    They do have parking.

Do they serve from their entire menu on Sundays, or only the brunch menu?

    I don't know

Do they still do a weekend happy hour?

    Yes on Saturday 2pm- 5pm

The slaw was the same slaw in a tiny cup you would get at any fast food or chain restaurant. The calamari was not overcooked, but had a strange taste that may have come from the incredible amount of oil they were sitting in. Nice lemony, slightly spicy flavor. It came with a big side order of fries, some cole slaw, and a salad. It was "market price" and tonight was $40, which was very fair considering the quantity and quality of crabmeat. The waitress was super-friendly and attentive. Pleasant atmosphere, standard pub vibe. The first thing you see is the bar. I went to the left and sat down at one of the tables. After a couple minutes a lady gives me a menu. Finally after about 10 minutes I was able to order. I get my food 20 minutes later. I don't understand why it took so long when everybody just had drinks and I was the only one seated in the restaurant part. The wings(6 for $15) were just ok. I got honey old bay flavor. The flavor itself was good but the wings were not cooked all the way for the middle part was lukewarm. The Charm Cheeseburger($20) a half pound beef patty, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, red onion, on a brioche bun. I wanted bacon added which was 2 dollars more per the menu. The burger itself was actually decent and it comes with potato wedges. They forgot to put the bacon in there but I didnt want to wait for the server to let her know and then wait again just for bacon. At least they didnt charge me for it. Service, or lack there of was atrocious. Every period in between interactions took a long time. In closing, I spent 35 bucks plus tax and tip for bad service and overpriced mediocre food. I can only remember it because of how awful the food tasted and how terribly prepared it was-I have never had food this bad in my whole life. It was about 2 years ago that i went, but I can picture the........meal, I guess we can call it.... that was placed in front of my face like it was yesterday. A steak. Simple, right? Nope. Not simple, not well made, not well cooked, not even the right cut. I ordered the Delmonico- I suppose the cut could be argued, so I won't even count that in leading to my disappointment. What came to my table resembled more of a Hungry Man Dinner Salisbury Steak, and it had hunks of raw fat in it, and it was covered in this awful brown, salty, peppercorn sludge-excuse me while i go vomit. My husband ordered the lamb chops-bad move. They tasted like they sat in their own blood for days-gamey, raw in the middle (again), and tough like shoe leather. Raw, and tough....? Weird, but true. Now, my husband and I both like our steak/lamb cooked medium rare to rare, but this really was raw. I'm also a HUGE fan of carpaccio, and tartare-but this meat was really disgusting-completely inedible. Oh yeah- I believe we were told by the wait staff that the restaurant was for people with "an aquired palate". Um.......a palate for shit? That was actually pretty amusing, and at this point I realized I was not fighting about the food I had ordered with anyone. Our entire meals were sent back, our bill was paid, and then it was deducted off of my credit card. Xanadu, by definition, is a place of great beauty, luxury, and contentment. Yeah. Not so much.
