First, I HAVE to give a special shoutout to our two amazing servers, Orly and Nikki! These ladies were the sweetest! They were warm, personable, attentive, and checked on us periodically without being overbearing. Their customer service was truly PHENOMENAL! I adored them so much that I jokingly wanted to adopt them! They were such beautiful souls, and I happily left an additional tip because they absolutely deserved it. Ladies, thank you for making our experience so memorable! The ambiance was another plus! The atmosphere was relaxed, the music was great without being overwhelmingly loud, and the decor was so fun! I especially loved the Halloween decorations featuring the Baltimore Ravens' colors and the headstones representing rival teams. HILARIOUS and creative! We visited on a Monday and took advantage of their all-day special. I was also pleasantly surprised by how extensive the menu was! We ordered the stuffed crab pretzel, soft-shell crab balls, strawberry lemonade, boss-sized crab cake, regular crab cake, Brussels sprouts, mac and cheese, and Greek lemon skillet potatoes. WHEN I SAY EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS?! EVERYTHING! The flavors were amazing, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. In fact, we enjoyed the experience so much that we ordered TWO burgers to go! It feels like if you live in the Baltimore area you HAVE to try Jimmy's at least once. It's a rite of passage. In that spirit, I decided to try Jimmy's out for their Wednesday crab cake special AKA "lump day": with any crab cake entree, you also get a free soup/salad and a dessert. Everything from the caesar salad, to the crab cake, to the banana pudding dessert was SO good. Just absolutely packed with flavor. The crab cake was the star of the show, and the sauce that came with it was delicious. This is probably in my top 2 crabcakes I've had in the city. Since we got down there so late, we weren't sure who may still have decent sized crabs available. We never came here for whole crabs but, given the deliciousness of the food last time and seeing something online that says they have it available starting after like 3pm, I thought they would be a good bet. My daughter especially enjoyed the complimentary bread basket served with Old Bay garlic butter and regular butter. The rolls were soft, warm, and absolutely delicious. Every trip back home to Baltimore includes one mission, finding a great crab cake. My family knows I'm always looking to try a new seafood spot, so this visit we met at Jimmy's Famous Seafood for a Friday brunch straight from the airport. Reservations are highly recommended, and I appreciated being able to book online. Just be aware they require a credit card and charge a $10 per person fee for no shows. Parking was free and easy, and after figuring out which entrance was for the dining room, we were greeted by a friendly hostess and chose to sit on the patio. The outdoor misting system was a nice touch on a warm summer day, and even at noon the restaurant was filling up fast. I started with a red sangria that was refreshing, although I never found the fruit I was told it included. My family enjoyed the crab dip, crabby chicken quesadilla, and crab balls, while I ordered the Stuffed Lobster Tail. Since I was told Jimmy's lobster and crab cakes are amazing , this was the perfect choice. It was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. My only disappointment was the charred broccolini, which was a little too firm for my taste. I had a great experience and can definitely see why Jimmy's is so popular. The service and food was excellent. I only wish I had time to come back for dinner before heading home. I also love that they ship their famous crab cakes nationwide. This time, I came to try the more "normal" sized items highlighted by the Soft shell crab, fried oyster, and fried shrimp po boy with slaw. Fresh, perfect textures, and enjoyed their slaw immensely. I would appreciate the fact that the cakes are 95% crab more if there was more nuance in the texture and flavor; it was flat to me, and I expect more from that price. Now, the mac and cheese we ordered on the side was the best mac and cheese I've ever eaten in my entire life. But, this is jimmy's famous seafood, not Jimmy's famous mac and cheese. We also ordered the seafood paella, which came absolutely loaded with clams, shrimp, mussels, and scallops. This was tasty, but nothing that blew my socks off. The charred broccolini we ordered on the side was pretty tough. To finish, we got their homemade creme brûlée, which disappointed me a lot. The top was crispy but the custard itself was chunky rather than the smooth, soft texture I was expecting. If this was based on service alone, I would give a solid 5 stars. Our waiter, and it seemed like every waiter, was very attentive and friendly and on top of things. It seemed like they had their staff well trained and coordinated. It was all so so delicious. Though the portions may look small it was more than enough to satisfy our fill. And well worth the price. I was also told you could order this nation wide. I will say, the eggs and fries, while delicious, were completely outshined in my opinion by the pretzels and octopus. The chickpeas and lemon on the octopus sent it over the moon. And I'm not huge on crab cakes, I've only had one or two, but this was easily the best. Just full of huge chunks of fresh crab, great flavor. The sauce that's with it was also REALLY good, but almost not needed as the crab itself was amazing. I'll be back very time I'm in Baltimore. The thing that has brought me to Jimmy's is the Taylor Swift brunch parties. The first one was meh. The staff weren't very attentive (they were probably also overwhelmed), there wasn't any decor, and the food was underwhelming. And there was the manager/owner/whatever really pressuring folks to write positive Google reviews. The second one I attended (for The Life of a Showgirl release) was immensely better! There was decor, super cute placemats, etc. And the staff was more friendly, attentive, and engaging. Even the food was better. The upstairs bar area is smaller than I was expecting. But it's a nice space with a large square bar, plenty of TVs, and even a patio area. I'd be interested to sample the dinner menu and try more of the non-brunch options. So hopefully I'll find myself in Baltimore sometime where I can do that. read more

This place was just OK. We came for my nephews birthday dinner after his dad raved about it. We had a large party of about 20 people on a Saturday night but they were able to accommodate us with a reservation day of. The establishment itself was pretty noisy. Our waiters were fine except one woman seemed overwhelmed by how busy the restaurant was. Now onto the food they graciously suggested we put the kids orders in first which was a good idea but I wished all the orders would have went in because the adult entrées ordered later took what felt like forever to come out. My husband requested the cream crab soup to come out with the appetizers but it was drastically delayed and served lukewarm at best. I tried the oyster Rockefeller which was just OK. I did appreciate the bread service. I had the crabcake entrée with asparagus and thoroughly enjoyed both. I also had a strawberry mocktail which was nice. The kids entrées were also a nice size. We did the chicken tenders and the burger sliders. I had the double chocolate cake which was OK, my nephew had the yellow cake with chocolate icing and after trying his I preferred it. He was very happy. Said it was great portion and delicious. He also took down two of their Cinder & Smoke old fashioneds. Went to Jimmy's and they are overrated. Ordered the crab cakeggrolls. They looked nothing like the tic toc and YouTube videos.presentation was lackluster. They were not crunchy at all. Had the crabcake, shrimp BLT. It was a bust. The bread was over toasted almost burnt and the sandwich was very dry. I should have sent it back, that's how bad it was. The only thing that tasted good was the seafood pasta. It was amazing. My mom had the jumbo shrimp and lobster mac and cheese. She said the mac and cheese lacked flavor. Jimmy's should present their food like they do on tic tok and YouTube. Too many items on the menu. They should have a few signature dish but it appears like they don't. read more
