I sat down today near the kitchen & a waitress came running, yes literally running out of the kitchen, drops a bowl of hot grits & they go all over me & the seat. On my face, in my hair, my arm. I get up & move to the opposite side of the restaurant, order & eat. I'm a very regular customer & have eaten here for decades. After I pay & am standing at the register the owner/manager, an Asian lady that's always in there mentioned the incident AFTER she watches me pay & asks "what can we do?" They absolutely should have been proactive & comped my meal. My brother has owned restaurants all of his life & when things like that happen & esp to a very loyal, regular customer the least they can do is comp the meal. First let me say, we love going to JE. You can't beat the price for the amount of food you get. Today we had great service from the wait staff. Only issue was when we ordered over medium eggs, they came with a lot of the white uncooked. We sent them back and they came back cooked perfectly. Completely replaced the whole plate. For what I know as a local breakfastery I'm always pleasantly surprised. The owner is consistent in her attitude, pleasantries and smiling. I haven't had any issues with this location. The parking lot is easy to navigate and it has a wee bit of overflow spaces in the back of you, dare I say, venture here on a Sunday. The regulars are friendly and willing to share local gossip. Even though I sit in the same two spots I never have the same waitress but I am not complaining! I've only hadmy eggs come out a tad under medium once and I just remedy that with salt and pepper. Heck- I used to blend raw eggs in my protein shakes in high school. I am not afraid! When I was younger the restaurant used to bring a variety of in-house made sliced breads to the table, then by request, then it was 6$, and now not at all. The variety was something you couldn't do at home. A mix of pumpernickel, raisin swirl, white and wheat. All nestled in together, served warm with jellies and butter. That memory is nostalgia now as the restaurant has moved away from longer sit down meals and forayed into a quick bite before returning to normal daily humdrum. The menu is predicable and occasionally the special inserts will update and challenge your waistline & cardiologist to a triple stack of sweet potato pancakes or the hip Keto bowl with carnitas. They standard breakfast fare with giant Belgian waffles or pancakes with two eggs and a protein choice for $8. I think having a warm-the-soul breakfast restaurant is a cornerstone for Oklahoma City. Often times owners will try to hash out a niche that they think needs to be filled in a city. Take waffles, biscuits, or gravy and try to create a space for themselves. Consistently the best breakfast in Okc- now it's no Cafe Kacco, but their food is great. Omelette are well done with a side of crispy hash browns and home made toast or cream gravy. Pancakes are very fluffy and delicious, and be sure to ask for a side of warm syrup. They are also a very good, and reasonably priced lunch spot. The burgers are made with fresh ground beef, and the curly fries are delicious. My personal favorite is the king club with extra pickles. Wow-I ordered the Queso Skillet with supposedly pulled pork, bacon, & sausage. 2 small pieces of pork-no bacon or sausage. What I got was hash browns, eggs, onion (too many), & tomato. My husband got the Queso Burrito that was supposed to have bacon & sausage and got about 2 pieces of meat. On top of this my husbands breakfast came out about 5 minutes before mine. What can I say about this place? It's been here way longer than I've existed on this planet and this place is ALWAYS consistent which pretty damn good for a restaurant. My family and I have been coming to this location and the one on may ever since we can remember and I always have to come back at least once and get my usual. Here's some quick tips for this place. 1. It's not 3-5 star restaurant, it's an old school diner so expect a bunch of people coming in on the weekends and semi-show service. 2. Bring a bunch of friends after a night of drinking to cure your crazy hangover with their unlimited coffee and delicious diner breakfast. 4. Enjoy. Food wise? Where do I start? Blueberry waffles? Phenomenal. It's crispy and fluffy with a delicious compote on top with some cool whip cream. Omelettes? The garbage is the greasiest thing on there, so prep yourself with any medications so do you don't clog any arteries. Breaded pork chops? Holy crap. This is how I define my pork chops with it being so great. They taste the same no matter how often I come in. I always get my eggs scrambled, home fries, and biscuit and gravy so I can dip my fries in gravy like the true fatty that I am. The reason why I'm giving t a five start is because I had called and place an order Togo for my parents and I and they had missed a couple of items. It's okay, it was just toast and a couple of extra eggs for my plates I called and talked to a wonderful lady and said that they'd give it to us the next time I came in. I'm visiting and totally forgot to come in the next day like the doofus that I am, and came in a couple days later. I had mentioned it to my server and the manager comped my plate. This was a strange meal. I ordered my Hash Browns cooked extra crispy with onions. I think there were as many onions as there were hash browns. And the hash browns were apparently flash-fried, because the inside was undercooked. Lol. I ordered grits with brown sugar and it took forever to get the brown sugar. Came In here and ordered a simple waffle, let's just say there is no flavour in the batter, it tasted like paste and gritty. I thought maybe my taste buds were off because of the hot tea I ordered. I have been going to Jimmies Egg for years and WAS my favorite Breakfast Restaurant in Oklahoma but that has now changed. Ever since the owner sold part of his restaurants to a chain to manage it had slowly gone downhill. The last straw for me was them changing from the homemade biscuits to premeasured frozen biscuits that are 1/3 to 1/2 the size they were before. The biscuit debris was my absolute goto breakfast and loved it. Now, no longer and I will not be back now. Good luck Jimmies Egg.... I ordered the traditional breakfast with corned beef hash and also added a strawberry waffle-my eyes may have been bigger than my stomach! My eggs were cooked to my liking and the corned beef had a great flavor. I would recommend if you get a fruit topped waffle to order the topping on the side as by the time I ate mine, it waa soggy and I like a little crunch to my waffle. Thebfood comes out pretty quickly but i got there right between breakfast and lunch so there was only a handful of other patrons. We went out in search of brunch a couple of Sundays ago, but alas, we piddled around too long and did not beat the hipsters to brunch. Cafe Kacao had a 45 minute wait, which is not something you can try to accomplish with a toddler in tow! This Jimmy's Egg is cleaner and nicer than some of the other ones I've been to. At 10A on a Sunday there was no wait, but by 11A there was a small line of folks waiting for a clean table. I was getting hangry, and we knew we'd face the same fate at any trendy spot, so Jimmy's Egg it was. And you know what? It was great. Our server was great, our food came out quickly, and it was perfect. I ordered an omelette (I always order lite cheese or otherwise it's a cheese bomb) with home fries and home toast. My meal was delicious - it came exacty as I ordered it and it tasted great. Kasey and Junie were also happy with their meals. All around us, friendly families interacted with our girlie, our server absolutely doted on her, and the whole experience was good. read more

I made a to-go order this morning & the manager started giving my friend - a person who works there - a third degree tongue lashing, asking "why is she awake so early? was she up all night at work?" I no longer feel comfortable coming in here to eat or now even to make a togo order. I've always tipped nicely, never made a scene or been rowdy. I will no longer be going to this Jimmy's Egg. (I would just like to add, that my occupation has been a topic of conversation multiple times here between employees. I live very close to this location & used to come in regularly. We usually go to breakfast early, but ventured out this morning around brunch time which is the WORST time and all the trendy places were on an hour wait, so Jimmy's it was! I've actually never been, but assumed it was like a Waffle House. I hate this weird little area of Classen, it's difficult to navigate. Walk-in and seat yourself. Of course it was packed but we grabbed a couple bar tops. Our server was nice. Nothing extra or stellar. What I'd expect for a busy Sunday morning. You can tell this place gets a lot of regulars, they would talk with our waitress, ask about family, say hi to so and so for me and knew each other by name. I like the whole wheat pancakes option (if they really are whole wheat?) and got whole wheat chocolate chip pancakes with bacon and hashbrowns topped with cheese and onions cause IM A FATTY. Husband got the buttermilk pancake combo with eggs and sausage. They were delicious. My thick cut bacon perfectly crispy not greasy. The hash browns were thick and fluffy and buttery and cheesy. Of course the pancakes are as big as your head so I only ate half and boxes up the rest. A diner breakfast is a diner breakfast to me really. Pretty average on all accounts! Wow, the regional differences really come out on this one if the previous reviews are any indication. First, a disclaimer: there is no way I could eat here on a regular basis. It's heavy comfort food, and I just don't have the metabolism I used to. That said, here's what you get from Jimmy's Egg: larger portion sizes, everything cooked properly and dependably, speedy service, and reasonable (to the point of being cheap) prices. I'm down with all of the above. Here's what you're not going to get: heirloom eggs, heritage pork products, organic fresh squeezed orange juice, creative menu options, or elaborate preparations. Those are all fine, but not what you're going to find here. I've never had a mistake on my order, received bad food, received anything other than great service, or felt overcharged in any way. FWIW, not all Jimmy's Egg locations are created equal. I've been to others, but I'm partial to the Classen location. Great staff that all work together to execute a good dining experience for their guests. So, ixnay to those who would diss the Classen Egg. It serves all, and serves well. Recommended. read more

This was my first experience at Jimmy's Egg, and I was not impressed. Their food was mediocre at best, I didn't finish my meal. Although, their waffle was outstanding! It was probably the most delicious waffle I've had in a while. Other than that, mediocre level including their coffee. The service was exceptional, and that is why I give them 3 stars instead of 1. The entire Jimmy's Egg team seemed to be working together wonderfully! Our waitress was very sweet, and knowledgable (about the menu). Other employees walked around filling beverages and removing empty plates. The entire restaurant was dirty, greasy, and unappealing! They only have one stall bathroom for the entire restaurant, which is unacceptable for breakfast/lunch place. All in all, I will not be coming back for a 2nd visit. read more
