Jimmy Johns is decent quality deli meats & cheeses with good bread. My issue and 3-star rating for this location is lack of consistency. I like the italian sub but 3 times in the last month, I received 3 different variations. More meat, less cheese, little mayo, many tomato slices, lots of onions, etc. It is never the same even though I order the exact same way each time! I will say this location does have good staff, always pleasant and usually fast. But not getting the same sub is just annoying. read more

Today I finally broke down as the last person in the office to order from Jimmy Johns. The size of the pickle they gave me was fantastic. A BIG ASS PICKLE. My sandwich (Totally Tuna with cheese) was ok. The lettuce tasted weird and the tuna was very salty. Not really impressed. The delivery was very quick and ordering was easy. I was anticipating the arrival of Jimmy John's when I saw the sign in the window since I am not a real fan of Subway or Quizno's. I decided to stop in for some sandwiches for us to go after I realized they don't deliver to Manchester on their website. I was greeted by a friendly cashier who looked like she was learning the ropes and a line of busy sandwich makers. The store was well lit, clean and had some modern rock playing. I asked about delivery and they showed me the map which was nice. I got my food really quickly as promised and drove home. The food was according to order except the cucumber was missing from my wife's Beach club. I loved the Italian Night club - it was fresh and the bread was great. The flavor of the meat was slightly spiced and there was plenty of it. I got it with mayo which was not overboard and the tomato was juicy. I will definitely be back and the convenience of online ordering ahead of time is great - you can choose to pick up your subs when you want to. Another option they offer is catering, not something I have a need for usually, but nice to know you can get it. I hope to try the JJ Gargantuan some time- a really big sub and the jalapeno chips were spicey but not hot -crunchy and tasty. I am a fan of Jimmy John's so far - I will re-review for sure after they are open for a little while. read more

This place is MEH. Why waste your money and taste buds on this boring sandwich? My coworkers order delivery from here. The delivery people are usually friendly, but the sandwiches are ordered for their convenience not their quality. Sometimes I think the one delivery dude is a little "off," shall we say??? Orders have taken a long time a few times and other times, we have had to re-order and wait for a second delivery. Defeating the purpose of the convenience of delivery. It MIGHT be a slight improvement over Subway. If you like Subway, stop reading. This review is not for you. Reasons I would rather not eat at JJ: There aren't many toppings options like in a typical deli. I enjoy to customize my sandwiches and have more interesting things than lettuce, tomatoes and mayo. They might have other stuff, but the toppings are never as good as a real deli. It's not their specialty. It's franchise, fast-food. Places like JJ are the watered-down version of the mom-and-pop deli shops from back in the day. We've traded convenience for goodness. The sandwiches are boring. The bread is blah. The meat is blah blah blah. I've regretted every time I have ever eaten there. When a coworker with the palette of a six-year-old recommends we do JJ for our lunch meeting, it takes all my patience not to lobby that we eat sawdust instead. So, if your coworkers are trying to coerce you into a bad sandwich, just say no. Save yourself. Go to a real Italian deli for better ingredients. The local Deli of Italy on Concord Road is way better or even in Lancaster there is several delis that blow places like this out of the water. I'd recommend going to the Philadelphia Hoagie Company in Lancaster for the real deal. Or Rooster Street Provisions at the Lancaster Central market/Lititz, PA makes their own meats and is the best. read more

Went to JJs based on Yelp reviews and I wasn't disappointed. I got the #9 Italian and it was excellent! The meats were perfect and the whole sub kinda just melted in your mouth.....I love my subs and sammy's so I will def. be bk here again. Great sandwiches! i lived out in the midwest when JJ's came to town and I was instantly a fan of the franchise. When I moved away I truly missed the fresh bread and super fast service. When I saw that a JJ's was coming to York I couldn't have been more excited. My expectations were high and this location did not disappoint! All sandwiches are made to order and they do them FAST. As soon as you order about 10 seconds later your sandwich is being delivered to your hand! I now stop here about every two weeks to get me a good sub. I love it way more than Subway. Its got that "Hoagie" feel to every sandwich with the fresh french bread that they use. The only thing that is bad, is that they don't have one closer to my home so that they can deliver it right to my door! Maybe one day as this catches on and they start to expand a bit in PA. read more

Jimmy John's fills a much needed niche in the casual food world. Very often, I'd like a *REAL* sub (not Subway or other fraud) but anything that qualifies is just too darn big. Jimmy John's is right on the money- delectable, high-quality Italian deli products in the perfect compact size- not too big, not too small at a good price. As an added bonus, they really are "scary" fast. On at least one occasion, our two subs were wrapped and ready *before* we finished ordering! I know that sounds impossible. I think if you're looking for that giant, over-stuffed hoagie, you might come away disappointed. If you think in terms of - good ingredients, great flavor in a well constructed sub, sized just big enough to hit the spot for a good price, you'll leave smiling read more

I ordered from here and it took 30 minutes to get it even though I was only 2 miles away. My wife ordered a Beach Club cut and it had no turkey on it and wasn't cut. I called to complain and was told the manager told the employee on the phone that there was nothing they can do but give me a free sub card. I live no where near a Jimmy Johns as I was visiting my sister in York. This is horrible customer service and even worse for a place such as this. The other location in York is on point. My wife and I tried JJs while out shopping on X-Mas eve on a whim. We didn't want greasy fast food for lunch and Subway, well, it simply gets old. Quiznos, as many in the York area know closed most, if not all of their local stores within the last year or two. In addition, with the exception of a few nearby pizza joints, the options for a quick, cheap sub are very limited in the immediate vicinity and beyond. I had never been to JJ's before and wasn't aware of their existence until the local shop was under construction and subsequently opened recently. I had no idea this was a franchise, or that it been in business this long. They simply don't over advertise like the bigger chains, but word of mouth seems to have contributed to it's success over the years. The store is spacious, clean and the staff is friendly, fast and efficient. There is decent music piped in and the walls are aptly, but tastefully decorated. Since it was lunch, the place was busy but not overcrowded. There is also outdoor seating for the warmer months, but obviously it was a bit cold for us to sit outside that day. I had the foot long cold cut on fresh and crispy french bread and in all honesty, it was better than anything I ever had at Subway or Quiznos. Everything is fresh and the bread is baked in-house. With good quality food and a great price, you can't go wrong here. I will definitely be back. Apparently there are stores in nearby Harrisburg, Philadelphia and the Pittsburgh area as well . I don't know if they plan to expand in York, but I feel they will have a decent and loyal following here if they continue to do what they do. read more

I'm not normally a huge fan of these types of sub shops. However this was pretty good and I'll definately be back again. Mary got the #1 a Ham & Prolalone with the works and I got the #10 a Roast Beef sub. These were the perfect size and the rolls really make the sandwich. Only issue I have is we ordered the giant pickle but never got it and I had to ask for my recipe back. read more

So i was excited when I saw the sign for Jimmy John's. I have eaten at a few in different cities and always had a pretty good experience. I ordered some kind of turkey sub and when I got it I realized they did not put any cheese on it. I went to the counter to ask for cheese. They said, "For $.75 you can have cheese." Come on what is a sub without cheese? In the end the sub was pretty puny and my sub chips and drink was about $9. I was not impressed with this location. read more

Well, unfortunately I can't really describe the food, as after placing my order and waiting 30 minutes it hadn't shown up. I called back and after 15 minutes of them trying to "find my order", not my food mind you, my "order", they finally informed me that 2 miles was outside their delivery range and they would not be able to deliver. This is after taking my order AND charging my card, which they said they would be happy to refund but will take up to 10 business days. Just stay away from this place, incredibly unprofessional. I've never been a fan of Jimmy John's. Quite frankly theirs is the least favorite sub shop of mine and I have a sub pretty much every single day for lunch. Sometimes however, I am forced to order from JJ because other options are not feasible for me. You would think businesses would at least have their core day to day operations pretty down pat, but this JJ proves this is not always the case. I had to repeat what I wanted to order 4 times on the phone because apparently a turkey sandwich without tomatoes is too hard to comprehend. I literally thought I heard the girl's head explode when I mentioned "NO" tomatoes. Anyway, after too much back and forth we finally got the order correct, so I thought. When it arrived the driver forgot my chips and drink. No big deal I guess since they were only around the corner, but don't advertise that you have extremely fast delivery if you can't get it correct the first time. It doesn't count as fast if you "COME BACK" fast the second time after messing up the order. When the driver gets back with the chips they are not even the ones I ordered (Go figure). At this point I just want some sort of nutrients because I am starving only to open up the package and see what is just a poor excuse for a sandwich. Not cut, sloppy condiments and weak on the meat. Need less to say I won't be ordering from JJ ever again, no matter how hungry, desperate or out of other options I am. I Had the 'Beach Lover' (I think that's what it's called--turkey with avocado and sprouts) and found it to be bland. I was pretty disappointed because my mom is a big fan of this place. Maybe next time I'll try something with a bit more flavor. Honestly, I think I prefer Subway to this place!! But I will say, they do have good bread! read more

Meats are fresh and the rolls are pretty good. The place is good if you want to get in and get out. Very little choice; no hot subs and the place looks and feels like it is trying its best to give you good food and not spend a nickel on anything else. If you get just a single sandwich, it's huge and worth the money,. If you get from the Catering Menu they are disappointing - hardly any meat.
