I was craving "anything but turkey" on this post-TGiving wknd and up popped a $7 toasted sub promo (normally $12). I ordered via their intuitively simple app and a toasted Italian was ready when I arrived. For fast food I think Jimmy's continues to have the best sandwich bread - a nice crunch to the outside while still chewy on the inside. Their new toasted subs are a bit more substantial than their regular offerings, typically including extra meat. I like how easy it is to customize too (delete mayo; add crunchy onions and cucumber slices) and how they don't upcharge for any of these except the obvious ones (extra cheeses, meats, or avocado). Staff is always extroverted friendly and parking is free/easy. Perks via app/membership are decent and don't appear to be the source of any spam. Ps, I've never catered here but have attended several meetings where they've been the provider and, not surprisingly, the audience oos/ahs louder than for generic pizza. Boss's take note! read more

Call it inflation but our sandwiches came with barely any meat. Paid $6 for extra bacon and there's 4 pieces on the whole sandwich. Pure disappointment for such a highly priced order. The GM Andrea was the rudest person I've ever met in the food industry. I called to let them know my sandwich wasn't fresh an smelt like old chicken. The bread was old an hard. Went there for the 1st time in years. Ordered a #9, no cheese, other than the fact I remember it being around $6-7, it's $8.99 now. Is it really that hard to make sure there's no cheese , I even heard one of the guys yell out no cheese . I have no idea wtf the other guy was thinking ( sigh). I can understand if you're making 10 different sandwiches with different toppings, you're going to forget something but, really how can you mess up 1 sandwich? After packing everyone up we set out and was in the mood for a quick sandwich that we could stop and eat on the way. It ended up being Jimmy John's knowing they are quick to make orders. So I ordered ahead and it was ready within 8 minutes, which was the exact time we arrived to pickup. The guy behind the counter making the sandwiches said he was just wrapping it up and would be ready in a moment, he really did mean a moment as it was a minute or less. We ordered a beach club (cut in half) and unwich gargantuan with napkins, chips, drink and mayo/mustard packets. We received chips, drinks, two sandwiches uncut and 1 single napkin, nothing else. I guess I was just disappointed that just because you can be fast, you need to be accurate as well. The beach club was sad, it lacked avocado and had more cucumber than the Xtra pickles I added. I recently tried Jimmy John's for three days this week. The first day I had a tuna sandwich on white bread which was fresh and the tuna flavor was excellent. Probably my new favorite for tuna, but the sandwich is ruined by the cucumbers they are using in the sandwich. I love cucumbers but they leave the skin on the cucumbers and sometimes when you bite into a slice the skin of the cucumber is so powerful tasting that it ruins the flavor of the sandwich. The next day I tried their veggie sandwich and again I had the same experience with the cucumbers, but the bread this time was not as good as the first sandwich. A couple days later I tried little John 1 on the new 9 grain bread. The sandwich was ok, but the 9 grain bread was just dry and on the end of bread was real dry and crumbly. I also didn't like that they don't offer different sizes as some are 8, 10, or 16 inches. I would have liked a 6 or 12 inch option. I will give them an average rating and say if your sandwich has the cucumbers ask for the skin to be peeled or skip them altogether. read more

Really disappointed!! Went into the location on Tanque Verde (January 2022) and found that 100% of the staff were un-masked. Asked if they had plans to implement a masking policy or if they have a vaccination policy in place. The answer was a very blunt NO! I order from this location three times a week and they're always fast as hell and never mess up a sandwich. The only reason the place loses a star is because they don't heat their bacon (B.L.T. 101) and it's weird to call yourself a sandwich officionado when you don't even offer sliced pickles as an option (I'm talking on the sandwich, not one dill pickle slice for an extra $1.75 which is absurd). I've worked at a JJs in the past, and I loved the business concept of the restaurant. This location happens to be a drive thru which is very convenient for my schedule. But I find myself having to walk in every time to make sure I get what I want. When I worked at JJs and for that matter at any restaurant, the later date items are pushed to the front, and new ones placed behind, I get it. It's impossible to find a soft cookie at this location. An employee couldn't even find a soft one....Even the cookies in the back are stale. For a $2 cookie, I'd expect the cookie to be soft as it says it is supposed to be. This location makes sandwiches well, but their manager needs to figure out the cookie situation, or market them as stale cookies, like day old bread. read more

I'm not a hard man to please but there is one thing I ask for my hard earned money, hot food but that comes later in the story. So I think everyone in Tucson who has listened to the same radio station for more then five minutes has heard an ad from JJ where two gentleman with scraggy voices annoy you with their boasts of seemingly super human delivery speeds and at the time I was impressed with their claims so I finally let my fiance, Elena drag me to a location. So the store front looks clean and well maintained and there is a neon sign hanging in the front that says "Free Smells" so before I even enter I'm excited. We open the door and step in. It's cold inside and there is no mouth watering aromas at all. I'm disoriented because I expected to be overwhelmed with the heat from ovens and fresh smelling breads and meats but nothing. So I was underwhlemed right off the bat. I walk up to the menu and look it over. The staff is nice but that's not the problem with this place. The problem is they only have two types of breads to choose from and everything is cold cut. Really? Even mainstreamers like Subway have better options then JJ. I'm shaking my head at this point but I decide to give them a shot anyways. I get a number one with the traditional bread. I get the food within two minutes but lets be real here folks nothing is cooked, you can't claim to be "Freaky Fast" when I could make the same thing at my home in the same time. I proceed to shake my head some more. There is a sign above me that literally says "Your mouth isn't watering it's crying for JJ", I laugh but I'm not sure if its because the sign is clever or that this place is so sad. I bite into the sub. It tastes fresh but it easily has a disportionate layer of lettuce compared to the other ingrediants. The ingrediants themselves are grocery store quality. Elena asks me how the food is and I reply back "very cold actually." This is an easy 1/5 stars for me. Now I may be being unreasonable but I'm not a rich man and the little money I have I would rather spend it on something from the Quiktrip Deli then this place and believe me that is bad. read more
