I tried this sandwich at a different Carrot and Daikon and it just didn't hit the way it does at this Corona location. Maybe I'm crazy, but if you have never tried this spot, try the Pork Belly here. The pork belly crunch followed by the fat that melts in your mouth, complimented with a slightly sweet and mostly savory sauce. Of course the carrot, Daikon, jalapeno and cilantro with the fresh banh mi make this top notch!! Wowza!

Now, let me be clear, this restaurant does NOT mention the term fusion - at all. However, their menu whispers, "Hey there..." Crispy pork belly, lomo saltado, spam and egg. And, oh, brothers and sisters, they have gotten as close to paying the proper homage to all fusion cultures as I've seen. SPAM AND EGG: I'm chubby so SPAM is like my kryptonite. I had to have it. This sandwich threw me for a look. I'm used to other places overcooking the spam. NOT so at C&D. The spam was juicy. The fried egg was fluffy. The spicy sauce was genuinly spicy. I loved it so much that I've had it twice in three days. CRISPY PORK: I love the Chinese/Filipino Crispy Pork. The pork was nice and juicy. The skin was crunchy. Really great flavor. The only drawback was my own fault...of eating it cold because I had to eat the Spam and Egg sandwich first. LOMO SALTADO: I've got this sandwich sitting on my counter calling to me, in the queue while I finish my 2nd Spam and Egg Sandwich. I will come back to this review later today to fill in this blank. UPDATE: It was good! The meat was soft and juicy. Not quite the lomo saltado meat or flavor I'm used to or would expect, so the sandwich's name is a little misleading, but the flavor is good nonetheless. VIETNAMESE COFFEE (Large): I liked it. Yep. Not as overly sweet as I'm used to at Mr. Bagguette in LA, and that's a great thing. The only drawback is that it has a caffeine KICK. I felt the caffeine flowing through my veins 10 minutes after I took my first sip. Bread: In banh mi, the bread is the make-or-break. Here, the bread is not your typical medium to hard crunchy exterior and soft interior. The bread is on the softer side on the outside. It is a great change in pace for me because I haven't cut the top palette of my mouth like I usually do with harder bread. AND...that means that the sandwich doesn't lose it's character when I ate the sandwich cold later. STAFF: Very friendly! They are there to serve the customer. I've been greeted with a smile and genuine happiness. Great work C&D. You have a customer!

The cost was $22lb. When i got there was a little line, which was a good sign. They have plenty of good cuts of meat with great marbling. What i notice is there not much customer service. You definitely need to know what you want when they call you. As for my 7lb whole Beef Rib that i got is was fantastic. It has nice marbling. Overall, I was happy with the product that I got.

I went here the first day and ordered the tuna. With the price I thought the tuna would be a higher quality tuna but my first bite left a strong fishy taste. One bite one sandwich in the trash. Being an optimist I thought I would give it another shot so I grabbed a couple sandwiches on my way home. $14.00 for two sandwiches with hardly anything on them, nope last chance, done deal. Good luck Jimmy Johns you will need it. If portions are controlled by corporate measurements and can't be increased you have a problem. People here want more bang for their buck!! read more

When I called Jimmy John's to place an order for 18 pieces, they informed me that the wait time would be over two hours. This is completely unacceptable and ridiculous. It seems like they are severely understaffed and need to hire more employees. Their service is terrible and I would not recommend them to anyone. read more
