Not too long ago while visiting family in Ocala I had a chance to try out a Jimmy John's sandwich. Love the funny commercials with Brad Garrett from Everybody Loves Raymond as sleazy sandwich guy "Tony Bolognavich" and his assistant always getting into trouble. Anyway, I had an $8.99 meal deal of a Turkey Tom on French bread with BBQ chops, pickle, and a diet soda. Good deal for the price and the sandwich was pretty filling. Would try it again if in the area for a quick lunch. read more

I love JImmy John's I just do and this downtown Ocala location is always on top of things. I grabbed this Unwich Gargantuan to go when I was on the run! Loaded with salami, capocollo, turkey, roast beef, ham, provolone, onion, tomato, mayo, oil & vinegar, oregano and basil! I add for me a ton of Jimmy's hot cherry pepper's because I love them! I do the lettuce wrap and no bread at Jimmy's this is called an unwich and it's my favorite! At Jimmy's there are a number of sandwich combinations cold and toasted and you can them with or without bread and they also have 3 different varieties of wraps! There are sides to choose from such as a home style potato salad, a bow tie pesto pasta salad, chips in various flavors and don't forget the famous Jimmy pickle! If yo desire a sweet you can get a chocolate chip cookie, oatmeal raisin or chocolate brownie! For drinks there is always fountain or bottled drinks such as Dasani water, Sprite, Diet Coke and Coke! The workers here are always friendly and willing to prepare your sandwich to your specifications. You can definitely dine in it's a very casual atmosphere. I ordered a tuna 8-in with tomatoes, onions, extra mayo, and a hot peppers . The lady made the first sandwich wrong with cucumbers . She got mad and threw it away and maybe another one this time with lettuce on it we only put a half a scoop of tuna on it also. I will not go back. People fix a damn food the way they want it they don't give a shit what you want. It's the same way if I order eggs in a restaurant the stupid ass cuckoo will cook them the way they want them. I drove a truck and it's happened to me hundreds of times. I hate snotty eggs so I tell them over well or over medium well if they'll make them over easy with snot in them every time. Traveling through Ocala on 75 so I put in a mobile order. I wanted sliced wheat bread. About 2 minutes after I placed my mobile order I got a call from a nice young lady letting me know that they were out of wheat. So we had the sandwich made with the normal bread. I asked if they would throw in a bag of chips. The manager topped that by throwing in a chocolate chip cookie and a bag of chips. Great job on a great customer experience. I frequent this location often but not anymore. They have had an ownership change and the employee moral has gone down. The staff now just want to get you in and out with no pleasantries. The bread used to be fresh but taste stale and I discovered this owner approves of serving day old bread. You get one napkin and if you ask for more I was told one sandwich one napkin. I will not be back. Will go to The Villages or Gainesville locations when in their areas. read more

Jimmy johns is my favorite fast food restaurant and I always get the same thing every time I go but today there was a dead ladybug in my sandwich. I think it was probably in the lettuce when it was put in there. Otherwise I would have gave five stars because the only thing wrong was the dead ladybug. I love Jimmy John's and every location that I've been to, sadly I would never recommend anyone to this location for health reasons and for Customer Service reasons. Especially don't take your family here, while at this location I saw the general manager not using gloves using profanity and just trying to have fun more so than actually taking care of customers very unprofessional not an enjoyable experience and will not be returning. I will never spend another penny here. Worlds greatest gourmet sandwiches, yeah totally not. You get this tiny sandwich with next to nothing on it. You only have the choice between white sub bread or regular sandwich bread if you want whole wheat. The lettuce is like confetti and is next to impossible to keep on a sandwich. I purchased a Hunters Club today. Asked for extra lettuce light mayo. If what I got is light mayo I cant imagine what regular is and barely any lettuce let alone extra..Roast beef was super dry and well done. The guy making the sandwich looked annoyed and bored so say the least. The cashier told me my total of $7.16. I said I have the change, she was like oh I cant do that I already made the change. I gave her $20.16. I said hon all you have to do is give me $13 change..she was totally dumbfounded. Very sad that the two employees I encountered neither smiled or had basic skills in making change, smiling or customer service...Follow directions and smile. I had questions in regards to the menu and they were so helpful and answered my questions and noticing there was a family sitting and eating and still waiting on food, I asked what time they closed and said 10 and realizing it was past 10.
