This place has a GREAT sandwich! Great bread good meats and good sizes and combos. The EASTSIDE location is very precarious and hard to maneuver, but worth the trip. I've always been happy with the service, until this last time. They got my order wrong, then charged me wrong.,I questioned it at the pickup window and again I called about the price for one sandwich, I gave the guy 2 opportunities to fix it, so a lower star for today. If there was ever a sandwich shop that I feel is severely underrated, it's Jimmy John's. I don't understand why a lot of people I know say, "I hate Jimmy John's" or, "this place is disgusting". Because the phrase I would use to describe this quaint little sandwich chain is....harmlessly satisfying. True, all the sandwiches are cold. But if you stop and think about it for a minute, that's the beauty of JJ's lightning fast execution of sandwich making. Not only do they have mobile ordering; but you'll pretty much never have to wait long for a sandwich anyway because there's nothing for them to cook really. I dunno. I sorta fell in love with this chain way back when I first discovered them in Killeen, TX. It's simple, fast and convenient. I mean, it's just sandwiches, people! What more do you want here? Only reason I don't give them a perfect score is because I only really like one type of sandwich here (tried the tuna once and I wasn't impressed). I think Ol Jimmy would be highly upset if he knew about this certain establishment. All of the things that Jimmy Johns is know for are not found here. Firstly, I was Stoked that we finally had a Jimmy Johns somewhere other than the Westside. But walking in I was sadly disappointed. None of the 5 people behind the counter made any type of greeting or acknowledgement. Strike 1. My sandwich was not made freaky fast. Strike 2. Oh how I love thee! So happy we have an east side location!!!! This location is conveniently located by the airport/Cielo Vista area. It has a drive through. This rating is given because of course they are new, the positive vibe is in the air. I come to Jimmy Johns often. Tonight Jesus, I assume the manager, comes to tell me he has to charge me for ice???? I'm dumbfounded? Huh? I explain I have been doing this for weeks. Are they that slow they need to charge for the clear ice cups? So, I explain, the clear cups? He says yes, he was told to charge. I look at him, lost and so confused. So you mean to tell me management is charging for ice that you'd give me anyway. And if I eat inside, I can refill it as many times as I want. But a clear .3 cent cup you want to charge me for???? What is this world coming to?????? So, I explain, I come here at least once a week and I've never had this issue. He's upset and says he will do it this one time. Like he's doing me a favor. He goes and gets the cup. I'm watching him, he puts five ice cubes in the cup as to prove a point. The sweet girl tells him to stop, he looks upset, he fills the cup with ice. He gives it to me, upset. I ask for his name he says Jesus. Now, what just happen? Jimmy Johns lost a loyal customer over bad management and. .3 cent plastic no logo cup and ice that is probably worth less than the plastic cup. To make it even worse, they put cucumbers on my lulu. Geeeeeeezzzz! I was literally so happy when I saw this franchise come this way. After the multiple failed experiences in this place, I just rather walk away. Having an MBA and working in retail for years it's hard for me to come to places and get treated badly. I'm the customer! Without your customers you have no business. Jesus's attitude and petty behavior is that of a child. Imagine if he had to remake my sandwich, he's the type of personality to spit in my food. The young co worker had to tell him to stop being petty with the ice. He was the manager????? How is that for service. I'm appalled. Well it's been an experience with this place. Had my last lulu for life. This place is not worth the rude behavior, messed up orders, or the price. It's expensive, in a dollar menu world and truthfully it's not going to last until management gets in and gets this right!!! Your staff is what is going to make your business! Love me some Jimmy Johns! Their bread in itself is simply a slice of Heaven to me. Every time you walk in, you get punched in the face with the smell of yeast and bread baking. The cool part is that they sell their day old bread for only 50 cents! What a great deal! As for the samiches themselves...at first i didnt think it was anything to write home to mom about. However! I started adding vinagrette and oregano to my beach club or turkey club and bam! Emeril Lagasse just made you a samich! So good! The prices are a bit on the steep side but i would say that it tastes fresher and more delish than subway. Their french bread takes the cake for bread quality too. The only part that turns me off is how they scrape off the insides of the bread in order to allow more room for the ingredients inside. I always say im gonna tell them not to since i like my bread but i always seem to forget lol. It doesnt seem to effect the sammy quality overall but still! Their kettle chips are all fabulous as well! I almost always get the BBQ one since its sweet and savory flavor compliments the more bland flavor of their sammies. And if youre not that hungry but want a good sammy, they got their $3 Lil Johns! And let me tell you... they still pack that thing! New store thought I'd give it a try. Reason for the 4 and not the 5 stars is the tables are dirty. They do not wipe them once a customer leaves. When we got to ours had to wipe it off. Now to the food: I love their bread. Always so soft. My go to sandwich is the Bootlegger. I love turkey and roast beef. Their roast beef is really good. No fat, no gross pieces and doesn't taste dry. And like everything else, we do it better in the Eastside, Jimmy John's is no exception, this location has waaaay more seating space than the 2 Westside (booo!!!) JJs COMBINED! This place puts Subway to shame. The French bread is fresh and smells heavenly. The meat is plentiful as are the rest of the toppings you may choose for your whopping 8" or 16" sub. This place will not leave you hungry. It's the closest thing to a Publix sub if you've had one..you just know. The drive thru was quick and our cashier was courteous. Great service. There was only two working at 5pm. The girl was working the take out window and taking the orders at the register. Poor girl. She was doing the best she could. As soon as she took our order, the boy making the sandwiches left for a delivery, leaving her all by herself to make the sandwiches, do the to go window and take the orders. She is a superstar. She made our sandwiches pretty quick, which were special orders, and they were perfect. 10 minutes later another employee shows up and the first kid came back from his deliver, so that was good!! This location really spoiled my appetite for Jimmy John's personally. I placed an online order at 11:56 and received my food at 12:35. Please someone explain to me how that is freaky fast! I even watched the cashier pick over orders and give out meals to people who ordered in store then finally got to my order. Went there after church. My kids love deli style sandwiches. We were the only ones in there. There were three employees. The cashier looked as if he was still high from the night before. The other two were just there. I asked for a packet of mustard, the employee got off the phone to give it to me. She than said in a very "don't bother me anymore attitude" is there anything else I can get you. Love Jimmy John's food always good and fresh. However I would recommend that Airway location get a caller ID just in case employee mixes up numbers so that there is a way to call back a customer during a delivery order. As in my case, wrong number was taken so we had to call back to see what happen to our order. Secondly, on delivery orders if you could please place condiments, we didn't have any napkins to clean up. Other than that service and food always good! Thank you. read more

I saw all of the negative reviews and wasn't sure if I wanted to go. On Sunday, I walked in and was greeted right away. All of the staff was super friendly.
