This is the place to get your holiday meats. They have excellent customer service and can accommodate most any request. I ordered my turkey from them and we had an early celebration. The turkey was delicious- nice and juicy. While I was picking up my turkey, a woman came in and ordered a bone in prime rib roast that was almost 13 pounds; it looked amazing. So all primate is expensive no matter where you get it from even Costco and Sam's. Nothing is cheap these days but taste is something most people would pay a little extra for so this place is well worth it if you are preparing a special dinner. read more

I've been on a search for a butcher shop that sells eyeballs and lamb liver. CPM didn't offer those two items but I walked out with brisket nachos, a bbq burrito, and cheesesteaks. Everything was excellent. The family enjoyed it. I'll be back again. read more

I went in on a Thursday morning and saw mostly empty meat cases. The guy working said they were waiting on a truck. I DID get some ground beef and it cooked up very nicely for some great burgers. I did notice they had some exotics in the freezer case, but they were very pricey and the4 selection was very limited. They also kept pushing Angus, Angus Angus, but not many people know that Angus us a BRAND, not a grade. I look for Prime or Choice grade from smaller suppliers rather than the mass-produced conglomerates. They did say they had a small supplier. I'll give it another go, but empty cases aren't impressive at a butcher shop. read more

The. Best. Steaks. In. El. Paso. After 7 years of living away from Texas I was super excited to get back and treat myself to a cowboy steak. I've been looking for a steak worthy of being called Texan for 7 months now. Texas Roadhouse, Great American, Cattleman's, ect. I've tried them all. They all disappointed me and honestly the city was disappointing me. (I won't include carne asada in this rant, El Paso has mastered carne asada). Until I got to this butcher shop. OMG I'm in love. We ended up buying 5 different cuts of steak (not cheap but def worth it) and cooked them up ourselves on a gas grill. I will admit we ended up burning one a little (I forgot it was a thinner cut) but it was still 100 times better than any steak I've had in any wannabe upper scale steakhouses in the area. I also ended up freezing 1.5lbs of flank steak and it was still amazing when I cooked it up on an electric skillet 2 weeks later. We ended up spending something under $200 for maybe 6lbs total of different cuts, and yet that was still cheaper than the time we were majorly disappointed at Cattleman's. Not to mention the butchers are very knowledgeable (and super excited) about their craft and their products, I was very confident in my selections because of them. They also offer amazing sides (do get a tub of the potato salad), desserts (those pies are so buttery), and beers. Guys, I am so happy right now. Do you know how lucky we are to have a LEGIT butcher shop in El Paso? I've always driven by Coronado Meat Market on the Westside because I've assumed it would be way to expensive for my wallet, but it's NOT. It's cheaper than Costco! So, I've always bought meat from Costco, but since they started mechanically tenderizing everything, even Prime cuts, I've been hesitant to buy more expensive cuts because the prices aren't justified for that grade and you basically have a crap ton of small holes in the meat which can introduce bacteria. We've been sous-viding the steaks so I wasn't too worried since it safely kills bacteria but I wanted to try my hand at reverse searing steak and that definitely doesn't play nice with mechanically tenderized meat. I've also been on the hunt for tri tip. I've only found it already seasoned and marinated at Costco and Sam's but I don't really like how small those were and how expensive they were per pound. I guess it's a California thing because brisket was hard to find in CA but plenty of tri tip was available and here in El Paso, it's the opposite. Well, from the moment I stepped in the front door, these butchers (apparently everyone is named Matt here, so it's easy to remember their names) made me feel so welcome. And when they learned it was my 1st time, they spent time explaining what they had available and giving me samples of their brisket bbq and chile verde beef to try. They had amazing prepped entrees and sides for grab and go meals: -brisket slices -bbq pulled pork -pimento cheese dip -loaded potato salad -cheese potato salad -bbq beans -pies (pecan, apple, cherry, etc) And they have fully stocked alcoholic beverages. They also had hot sandwiches and burritos and nachos. I bought a cheese steak for hubby and the chile verde burrito for myself and it was stuffed with meat! Awesome for less than $4 each! I can see why they had regulars come in and ordering lunch at 1pm! But the meat...$9.99/lb for tri tip, and they cut it and trim to your liking and if you ask them nicely and it's your 1st time, they'll also vacuum seal it for you! Trimmed brisket and whole brisket is the same price as Costco and you don't need a membership AND you can buy what you need! They sell, pork, salmon, venison, bison, gator, duck bacon, kangaroo, and other delicious animals. They also sell bones for pho, caldo, and for bone marrow dishes! I was in heaven. I paid cash and I got an extra 4% off for using debit/cash. Come out and #supportlocal businesses like this amazing one. Their service alone made my day! read more

First time checking local establishment out, will NOT be my last. The two gentleman that were there (which I forgot to catch their names) were friendly as can be. Super knowledgable and patient. They do special cuts for you on pretty much all their meats. I got 1 inch prime ribeyes and man they look amazing. Can't wait to grill them up. The customer service is unlike any other, felt like I was buying from a friends place. Relaxed comfortable environment. I spent more than I wanted to and I'm not even mad lol. Gave me samples of bbq and green chili they made and hot damn it was great. Whatever side of town you are in the drive is worth it. Best in town hands down. went in person to reserve pork shoulder as I have done before . the man behind counter wrote everything down and when I offered to pay he said it wasn't necessary. When I went on 9/23 to pick it up was told they didn't have pork shoulder and should have left a deposit. Didn't know if they would have any later in the day or not. I prefer to shop local but ended up at Walmart to salvage Christmas dinner. the worse thing was there was no apology - no conferring with the man who I originally spoke with - who was there or any other nicety. I just can't say enough about their meats... Exquisite tasty soo good meats! I don't know what they marinated the meat with but it sure was delicious once we were done cooking. The small batch of chili beans w meat... I think tri tip or? the best chili beans ever. We served them over nachos The bomb.com we had enough meat for 3 days and it tasted just as good as the first day. We keep bringing up the quality and flavor. Yeah back the first week of September and it's still like heaven in our minds GOOD. Don't know it they bottle the seasonings they used but if I could get my hands in some I'd buy it in a Texas minute! You get what you pay for. Wow! I can't believe I've never checked out Coronado Prime Meats! I live 5 to 7 minutes away! I've driven by it many times but never went in. I was going to pick up some groceries from Walmart the other day but...Walmart didn't have the meat I wanted so I came here. I was looking for a steak/stew meat I could use for a stir fry I was cooking for dinner. There were three gentlemen working and helping me out. They were all really nice. They had exactly what I wanted. One gentleman cut the meat for me in small pieces which was great! That was one less thing for me to do when I got home. I'm not going to lie...the meat is just a bit pricier than groceries stores and Sam's here. I usually buy it at Sam's because it's a decent price and tastes good. You also get a large quantity. However, the meat from here was of really good quality. The meat was fresh and tender. Sometimes when you buy meat at the grocery store, it's too chewy. The meat from here wasn't! Like I mentioned before, the customer service was also great! You don't really get service like that at Walmart or Sam's, not even at Albertsons these days. Most of the employees at those stores hate their jobs and don't want to be there. The staff here seemed to enjoy what they were doing. I haven't had great service like that in quite awhile. I'd like to try their brisket burritos sometime so I'll be going back. I also bought some sirloin steaks. I haven't made those yet but I'm sure they'll also be great with a salad and baked potatoes! read more

There is nothing like buying meat from an actual butcher. Cut to order, wrapped in butcher paper and sent home with a little sample of rub they recommend. Our Prime NY strips were perfect for the grill. The pork chops we got, though frozen, came off the grill with an almost creamy texture. And while this is not the most extensive of selections of meat, it is an old fashioned cut to your specifications place. Plenty of steak (you want Prime? Ok.), some chicken breasts that were over a pound apiece, brisket and sausages in the fresh meat case. If it's not in the case, ask. They may have it in the back walk in cooler. They also have a frozen section with duck breast, lamb, pheasant, bison, wild boar and other exotics. Custom grinds for sausage, got a special order for a special event? They can get it for you...just call a day or so ahead. The guys know their stuff and are super pleasant to chat with. We make the drive from Las Cruces about once a week for something special to grill. read more

Coronado Meats is a freakin' gem. They sell all sorts of high quality meats, seasonings, craft beers etc. and are always happy to share some meat knowledge with their clients. Their entire staff is made up of cool people. Their beef short ribs (sliced Korean style) are great if you're looking for the absolute perfect ratio of tender, flavorful melt-in-your mouth meat and delicious fat. Off the grill in less than 8 minutes. They also sell all types of exotic meats for those interested. When you decide to stop by, pick up a pint of Edy V's ice cream. I stopped in on the recommendation of friends who used to live in the area. A+++++ I ordered 3 Rib eye steaks custom cut to 1 1/2' each. Took those babies to my friend's house and we had a feast! I was visiting family from Austin and needed a place to buy carne asada. Well, I didn't get carne asada but I called a day before and order eight pounds of brisket. When I picked up the brisket, the guys were so welcoming. It seemed like I was part of their family! The brisket came out very tender and juicy. They also had Amy's Ice Cream and of course I was willing to pay the price for some Mexican Vanilla. I recommend Amy's Ice Cream because it's made of sweet cream and you don't need to defrost it-just eat it out of the tub and it will slowly melt. Awesome guys that treat you like family! Stopped by this place for a couple steaks. Excellent customer service! I went with a Bone-in Prime Ribeye. Yum!! They cut to order so you get to choose how thick you want your steaks. Coronado Prime Meats is a really great butcher shop. They have quality meat and the workers there will always do their best to get what you need. I recently got some short ribs there to make korean bbq and man you can taste the meat's superb quality. They have a variety of meats that include venison, duck, bison, frog legs and more! The pricing on the meat is just a tad bit more than the regular grocery store, but the quality of the meat makes it worth it! They even sell bbq sandwiches which i have yet to try. I have been there through the years and have ordered cooked and sliced turkey which I did again this year two weeks prior to Thanksgiving . Well everything seem O.K. he told us he'd slice it and would be ready on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving for a price of $ 100 + . Well Wed. we went to pick up the turkey and they brought out a raw turkey in its regular package and asked if we wanted cut WHAT !!! I then thought well they misunderstood our order but wait who would sell a packaged turkey for $100 when I could've bought it for less than $30 . So they gave us one small smoke turkey and a small raw turkey to make up for the $ 100 we had prepaid HellOoo they sure screwed up my Thanksgiving and I had to cook all morning so sad. read more

Okay -- first off -- thank you to the reviewers prior to me. Your advise has been spot on. While in El Paso, I was alarmed beyond belief that the grocery butchers don't have prime beef in their counters! Wait! This is Texas! That being said, I googled and found recommendations for this place, and I couldn't agree more. I don't eat beef but once or twice a month, and I generally cook it myself, so I save up the money up for a decent cut and look for the best. The prime tenderloin is as beautiful as it gets. Lovely, sparse, consistent marbling -- and yes, pricey, but not more than any other vendor. And I did try the burritos, and both types -- the chile verde and barbecue -- made my month. Consider this: prime brisket slow cooked with awesome flavors for $2.17 a piece -- oh, yeahhhhh....give it a shot. I agree with others -- the service is fantastic. We kept seeing this place as we drove along Mesa a million times looking for various places (being new in town is so awesome for your gas tank). I knew eventually I wanted to make bulgogi so I kept this place in mind. Finally the day came and we walked up into the place and it smelled awesome! I think it's the hickory charcoal they have in the corner (plus meat, hello). This place has a beautiful meat counter and lots of choices (different cuts, premarinated, there's a veal section), plus the window in the back where you can get cooked stuff. I'm excited to try that window, let me tell you! Anyway we told the guy behind the counter what we were doing (I wanted them to shave the beef really thinly because I suck at cutting meat, even if it's partially frozen). He pointed out a decent piece of...something I forget, maybe chuck or something? I don't know. He even showed us the first piece he shaved off to make sure it was what we wanted. He offered to cut it into strips for us too, and of course I said yes because, well, I suck at it. I don't know why. They have lots of rubs and sauces too, and some empanadas and pies, and a few cold salads (I've never heard of hot cheese before). We got some habanero salsa that was GREAT. The service and quality were outstanding and combined with the price? AMAZING. It was no more expensive (and I think actually cheaper) than going to Walmart's meat department, and I got exactly what I wanted. We'll be back! read more
