Food and drinks were delicious. The side and salad bar was well stocked. Ate way too much. Friendly staff and great service.

Sign says they don't open until 5, but I guess they let the customers in early. You have to drive off the 10 and seems like you'll never get there, but the it appears on your right had side. Just finished with my food, it was DELICIOUS!!!! They welcome their customers to walk the paths and check the place out. I may need to walk after the food Ellen

Thirty miles south of El Paso, where the desert stretches wide and the sun beats down like a…read moreblacksmith's hammer, there stands an oasis known as Cattlemen's Steakhouse--serving up some of the finest grub west of the Pecos. I'd been there once before, though not among the regular folk. Ten years ago, I sat in the private dining hall, watching the cooks tend to ribeyes over an open flame. Those steaks were laid on a grill set at a slant, so the grease dripped away instead of pooling beneath the meat. No shortcuts. No nonsense. Just fire, steel, and beef. This time, I pushed through the restaurant doors like a dusty traveler looking for redemption. Inside, a hungry soul can choose their cut, name their doneness, and pick their fixin's. Sure, there are other offerings on the menu--but I didn't ride all that way for chicken. I ordered the 24-ounce porterhouse they call the Cowgirl. For the truly brave, there's the Cowboy--a two-and-a-half-pound behemoth fit for a cattle drive champion. The steak arrives with a baked potato riding shotgun on the plate. Alongside come cowboy beans, pineapple coleslaw, and warm dinner rolls. And here's the kicker--they'll keep the sides coming if you've got the grit to ask for more. I fought my way through that Cowgirl like it was high noon. Tender, rich, and full of honest flavor--so good it didn't need a drop of sauce. I'll admit, the edges had a touch of toughness, like the desert itself. But that center cut? Smooth as a prairie sunset. Service was sharp and steady, the kind you hope for when you hitch your horse outside. But what truly sets Cattlemen's apart is its solitude. Out there, far from city noise, you're reminded of a quieter time--when towns were few, distances were long, and a good meal after a hard day's ride meant everything. If you're looking for a steakhouse that feels less like a restaurant and more like a scene from an old frontier tale, this is the place. Just bring your appetite--and maybe loosen your belt a notch before you saddle up.

I have the ascedero green chili burger. There was a mixup with the cooking temperature. But they graciously replaced it. Chili poblano soup was fantastic. I recommend everyone to try it not too spicy but very tasty. The drinks were spot on, and the wine that I had the sweet red was absolutely fabulous ! Everyone had a very good time and I can't wait to go back! Reservations are a good idea .

Extremely Disappointed, Multiple Issues Throughout…read more I had high expectations for this restaurant given its chophouse reputation, but our experience was disappointing from start to finish. We ordered the bone marrow appetizer, iceberg wedge, Caesar salad, and two kids meals to go. Unfortunately, nearly every aspect of our order had problems. The bone marrow was excessively salty to the point of being inedible. We tried to salvage it by scraping away the salt, but ultimately had to throw it out, I was not happy as you know bone marrow is not cheaply priced. The salsa macha accompanying it was also missing. My Caesar salad arrived with wilted lettuce literally hanging out of the container, clearly not fresh enough to serve. One kids meal had the wrong side item, no silverware was provided, and our drinks were forgotten entirely. We returned to address these issues, and while the manager was apologetic and remade our order, the replacements were still subpar. My LARGE salad was noticeably smaller than what I originally ordered, and the salsa macha, when finally provided, was very mediocre at best. I've had a lot better. I'm typically understanding when restaurants make one or two mistakes, but when an entire order is executed this poorly, it's hard to overlook. I understand they were busy, but they seriously need to execute better under those conditions. For a chophouse at this price point, the quality and attention to detail should be far better. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.

Unfortunately, I was not impressed. Medium rare, was not very rare at all... Also didn't seem to have any grill marks. Other family members preferred theirs well done, but they looked as if they'd just been baked. I know that that salt & pepper is all that's needed for a good steak, but they both seemed to be missing. Free Flan was the highlight of this meal!

From the outside looking in, El Tragadero doesn't look like much, but once you step inside you're treated to sites and smells that will delight. The theme of the restaurant is bullfighting, and inside you'll find paintings, matador outfits, posters, etc celebrating the history of bullfighting. It might as well be a museum. Whether you are up stairs or downstairs, one of the first things you'll notice is older women making fresh corn tortillas. I kid you not, these might be the best tortillas I've ever had, and I typically prefer flour to corn. If you give them a small tip at the onset, they'll keep the tortillas coming nonstop. Before you even order you'll be provided with some chicharron and salsa, as well as some beans. A nice touch that compliments a Sol well. On the menu is a variety of delicious grilled meats with an unbeatable flavor profile that puts most American steakhouses to shame. To date I've had the arrachera, rib eye, and ribs. Although I prefer the arrachera, all three will blow you away. The meat is so good that even when I've taken it home and reheated it in a skillet the next day, it's just as delicious. Some pro tips: They only take cash but accept dollars and pesos. Convert your dollars to pesos before as the exchange rate in the restaurant will be worse if you pay in dollars. Don't be surprised if you see people waiting outside, this place is popular but they turn over tables quickly.

The staff was incredibly accommodating, and our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and so helpful with recommendations. The amuse-bouche of watermelon with Tajín-style seasoning was a refreshing and thoughtful start. The wedge salad was the standout of the night, generously portioned, perfect for sharing, and absolutely delicious. The pesto spaghetti was equally impressive, with a beautifully balanced sauce that wasn't overpowering. I ordered the miso black cod, which was cooked perfectly and beautifully flaky. While it leaned a bit salty for my taste, the quality of the dish still stood out. The ambiance is dark and intimate, perfect for an upscale dinner, and the iPad menus were a helpful modern touch. Overall, the exceptional hospitality and standout dishes made this a wonderful dining experience, especially after a long travel day. I would absolutely return.
