Food and drinks were delicious. The side and salad bar was well stocked. Ate way too much. Friendly staff and great service.

This Great American Steakhouse is located in the Plaza Las Misiones mall in Ciudad Juarez. We had…read moredinner here twice, and asked to be seated at the bar during both visits. Service was good overall, though during both our trips here we noted the servers who'd initially taken care of us would often disappear for very long periods and we'd need to ask others for assistance during the course of our meal. This restaurant has solid cocktail and wine lists, and a fairly extensive food menu which likely has something to accommodate nearly everyone's tastes, and menus are available in either English or Spanish. During our first visit we shared an order of guac and chips to start, and though the guacamole was good, the chips were thick and baked rather than fried and to be frank, I was afraid I'd break a tooth on them. For my main course that night I had the chicken breast with vegetables and it was very good. During our second visit we had the queso fundido to share, and I had a caesar salad with chicken. We enjoyed both our meals here, and menu prices were about on par with better quality steakhouses in larger US cities.

Indeed, they lived up to their Yelp reviews. I had a 20 oz. Bone in Ribeye (the way God intended ) cooked medium with backed potato. I won't be slapping my mother but I will call her later this evening , to sing the praises of this excellent piece of meat. Particularly the char. It is the best I have ever had. If this placed served a dish that consisted of nothing but the end pieces (where they hug the bone) I would have to consider moving here. That char was perfectly blackened & bursting with flavor. The baked potato (which was backed in an oven & NOT microwaved) was very good also. The Alex's Philly Cheesecake was not as good as the steak but it got the job done. I sat at the bar so the service was immediate but the unsweetened tea tasted like I was the second person who drank some all day. This place is large (it has 'Texas' right in the name!) & because you have to do parking lot gymnastics in the full parking lot, I expected a little wait on this hot Sunday afternoon. Happily there was no wait. It has a high barn-like roof that amplifies customers talking to a semi-comfortable background cacophony but the steak was so good I entered into my own little world. The only down side was that the steak & especially the backed potato could have been a little hotter. If I ever wander through these parts again, I will definitely return. 4-stars

The kitchen is sort of open to the restaurant, and the staff sits there and congregate in one particular server was cussing at the kitchen crew and being really loud. It's obvious that they don't prefer singles because the table next to me, a party of six got a lot of attention from the manager seeing how they were doing and I got completely ignored. I got sat next to the meat counter. And look at my food this is a pathetic display of food a tiny overcooked piece of chicken and a popper mashed potatoes no garnish. The gravy was quite bland and in a plastic cup really people you can do better. Who knows maybe I was checking the place out for a party of 50 but I wouldn't bring them here now. Don't treat me like a single invisible person.

It became a special treat for our family while visiting our Tía in home hospice--and one of her last, most joyful bites. Food and our family's recipes are at the heart of who we are, so hearing my Tía Emma call it "magnificent" meant everything. While, we didn't dine in, we noted the atmosphere struck the right balance of upscale bar and grill on our two visits. Please note, this place get packed on weekend nights. If you want to eat here on the weekend swing by from 4 to 5:30pm.

As we were seated our waiter took 10 min to great us and then another 12 min to bring our drinks. I didn't think anything of it yet it was a precursor to the rest of our dinner. After he took our order our kids food came out in a very timely fashion but our two orders of salmon and one steak sandwich took 40 min to arrive at the table. What a ridiculous waste of my time because my sandwich was missing the fries ordered and our waiter thought nothing of it till I brought it up then he took another 10 min to bring my fries. All this while simultaneously forgetting the sauce for the salmon which also took another 10 min to bring out. The salmon was so dry it was tacky and stuck to your teeth. If you know the feeling you know it's bad. The rice that came underneath the salmon was crunchy and way undercooked. All while the waiter was like oh I can bring you free deserts for your wait all while I could only think about how I just wanted to leave. I was internally livid and exhausted but kept it to my self after seeing the owner or manager who we the guy with the white hair over at the bar enjoying a few alcoholic beverages meanwhile his restaurants service and waitstaff to the worst possible job they can. I saw the people who got the most attention and good service were all regulars sitting at the bar laughing it up with the manager/owner older guy. Why not make sure your restaurant is running smoothly and food is being delivered and prepared properly and stop trying to impress the regulars who most likely will show up either way. Any restaurant that is this unorganized and unmotivated is due to crappy management. All this and the waiter is like I'll comp you for the steak sandwich with a discount for the bad service and salmon which was a whopping $5. I don't want a discount I don't want free day old desserts I want good service and decent food. Discounts and free desserts will never fix the problem because it will always be a crutch for trashy customer service. How about stop drinking with the guests and whoop that staff into semi decent shape buy some high chairs and make sure your expo does a once over quality check on the food and time it takes to get to the table EVEN if that means stepping in and doing it yourself. The restaurant is dark the tables are sticky the whole place is very compact . Perfect and quite attractive after 5-6 wines for sure. I'm sure the food is outstanding after a few drinks as well . They gave us a $25 dollar gift card to return which if I could I'd give to the owner so he could experience the same horrible food and service we did. I wouldn't even give the gift card to someone I hated. This was one of the first times in a long time I didn't just let it slide because I understand all restaurants and people have bad days but this was exceptionally bad. If you are thinking it can't be that bad think again it absolutely can. The whole "I'm sorry we usually have awesome service and everyone loves our food it's probably just me and my family " is laughable . This isn't my first time here while visiting El Paso. The food is getting worse.

Unfortunately, I was not impressed. Medium rare, was not very rare at all... Also didn't seem to have any grill marks. Other family members preferred theirs well done, but they looked as if they'd just been baked. I know that that salt & pepper is all that's needed for a good steak, but they both seemed to be missing. Free Flan was the highlight of this meal!

From the outside looking in, El Tragadero doesn't look like much, but once you step inside you're treated to sites and smells that will delight. The theme of the restaurant is bullfighting, and inside you'll find paintings, matador outfits, posters, etc celebrating the history of bullfighting. It might as well be a museum. Whether you are up stairs or downstairs, one of the first things you'll notice is older women making fresh corn tortillas. I kid you not, these might be the best tortillas I've ever had, and I typically prefer flour to corn. If you give them a small tip at the onset, they'll keep the tortillas coming nonstop. Before you even order you'll be provided with some chicharron and salsa, as well as some beans. A nice touch that compliments a Sol well. On the menu is a variety of delicious grilled meats with an unbeatable flavor profile that puts most American steakhouses to shame. To date I've had the arrachera, rib eye, and ribs. Although I prefer the arrachera, all three will blow you away. The meat is so good that even when I've taken it home and reheated it in a skillet the next day, it's just as delicious. Some pro tips: They only take cash but accept dollars and pesos. Convert your dollars to pesos before as the exchange rate in the restaurant will be worse if you pay in dollars. Don't be surprised if you see people waiting outside, this place is popular but they turn over tables quickly.
