Outside of the Jimmy John's location in Madison, WI on State Street, this is the best Jimmy John's I've ever been to, based both on food quality and customer service. It seems like most of the prior reviews of this place are overwhelmingly negative, but I've never once had any issues with the food seeming low quality or near-expired-looking, and staff has been nothing but great to me. I normally order the same thing, because it's simply just that good- a #9 Italian Night Club sub with a bag of Salt & Vinegar Jimmy Chips to go. And maybe that's the key here--instead of ordering at the restaurant or ordering delivery to my place of work down the road, I order ahead on their mobile app, always at least 5-10 minutes, and I've yet to been disappointed. I've never once had to wait for my order to still be made when I've arrived there, and the staff has always been great. They greet me, ask me how my day's going, and then nod and say have a great rest of my day after I grab my bag and head out. The inside of the restaurant is clean, there's always been enough workers when I've gone in around lunch time from what I've seen, and the delivery drivers also don't park haphazardly outside the restaurant like I've seen at some other locations. Why does this Jimmy John's have such a problem with accuracy? I've ordered in person and online pickup orders multiple times and about 90% of the time someone's order isn't prepared correctly. Did you want no-Mayo on that unwich? It's considered merely a suggestion left to the discretion of the associate making the sandwiches. Upon consideration, the associate thinks you actually meant you wanted Mayo. Or course, these inaccuracies aren't discovered until I'm long gone. They still make a fine sandwich, and it's kept clean in there. But they definitely favor speed at the expense of accuracy. read more

I walked in today I was hit with warm air and the smell of garbage throughout the store. I normally wouldn't take the time to write a review for a sub shop. I have to start by saying I love jimmy johns sandwiches. Seriously good food. This 2 stars is specifically for the heinous customer service at this location. The guys making the sandwiches were very nice. Lady taking my order? Not so much. Long story short, girl was rockin a serious case of the Monday's. I haven't had delivery from here, but I have been told by a frequent user it is good. Going up to the counter, a whole different story. Bottom line, if you can just get in and get out quickly you'll be fine. Don't look into Medusa's eyes and you'll be fine. Don't ask for peppers on the side, and guess what.... If I could give this franchise 0 stars, I would. Their customer service is absolutely horrendous and they are completely understaffed. They have had no air conditioning for over a year. Their online ordering is always down. They will not deliver to my office, which is in their delivery range because it is "too confusing" to get to. Because of the lack of delivery and online ordering being down I was forced to come in one day before the lunch rush asking them to make seven(7) sandwiches, three of which were "giant," three were "classic" and one was a "wheat," with barely any customization. The order total was under $100, $87 and change, to be exact, and they told me no. They said that they were unable to fulfill the order because they would have no bread for the rest of the day.... NO BREAD AT A SANDWICH SHOP?? I was absolutely blown away and they just told me to leave. They said, "with a big order you should order 24 hours in advance." I was unaware that seven sandwiches, at a sandwich shop, is considered a "big order." I proceeded to go to the Oconomowoc Franchise, which had plenty of bread AND air conditioning and they informed me that seven sandwiches is NOT considered a large order and fulfilled it within 15 minutes. Even though the Oconomowoc Franchise is DOUBLE the distance from my office, I will NEVER return to the Delafield location and have instructed all of my employees to no longer give their business to this location. sad. read more

Pretty disappointed in this Jimmy John's, my sandwich was made on an extremely hard bun that should never have been given to a customer and they knew the bread was hard when they made the sandwich and yet they completed making the sandwich and gave it the customer...this is unacceptable and I am sure we were not the only ones that this was done to today. read more

Half my order arrived. I called to request other half. Delivery address was a hotel, literally across the street from the store. 25 minutes later, still hadn't received the rest of my order. So, I called again and was told that the delivery person had "just left." 20 minutes later - still nothing. I called back again. This time I was told the rest of my order had been left in the hotel lobby. I went downstairs and indeed it was there, unlabeled & dropped off without telling the front desk what room it was for. Well, i have personally worked for a different JJ 3 years ago and remember how fun it used to be to work there, but from what i saw the other day I have to say that the one Manager Andy thinks that this is Hell's Kitchen, even heard him cussing at an employee. Very unprofessional if you ask me. Food was alright, but the way they treat their employees.... I likely will not be back.
