Kenneth the manager really came through with his offer of a better sandwich! Hopefully all my orders will be great!

Service is below mediocre. First the lady argued with me about the multu grain bread vs French (I just said I wanted French bc they've switched them in the past). Not very helpful staff. Then when I asked them to cut my sandwich in half (I had already ordered and paid) they said "It's too late". How hard is it to cut a sandwich after I order at 3pm on a Saturday when there is absolutely no one in the store??

Purely theoretical tuna on this tuna salad sandwich that took and hour to get the 4 blocks to my office.

I had an iced skinny vanilla latte with oat milk that was really good. My everything bagel and lox sandwich was huge so I did not have space to eat the potato salad and coleslaw side. From Nelson to Kelsey, Chloe, to the waitstaff, including but not limited to Erica, Sara, and Elizabeth, and, of course, the wonderful reception hostess, the fantastic Jessica, make it a pleasure to dine at this restaurant. They give it that hometown atmosphere within the vast city of Houston. The ambiance is adequate. There is consensus that eliminating the second door leading to the dining area is a mistake. An attempt to expand the waiting area makes sense. Still, a line forms of patrons wanting to partake of the restaurant's delicious food, which causes congestion on the bakery side of that excellent restaurant. Perhaps expanding into what used to be Mark's One Hour photography would have been a better idea for the sake of the patrons' comfort and convenience. Moreover, the cashier's area is poorly designed and uncomfortable. The interaction between the cashier and the greeter is also missed, even though a line would also formed there. The food is just that delicious, folks! Conversely, the attempt to make things run more efficiently by having the wait staff accept payment via a computerized mechanism at the patron's table is understood. Still, this is minor in comparison to the delicious food being served there. Nevertheless, from a delicious multiple soup to a full breakfast or lunch entrée, the New York bagel shop receives an A+ in my book. Therefore, take a visit and taste for yourself. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy! Lalo De PIlar.

I…read morewas a bit surprised when it opened, because most Jason's Deli locations I've been into have quite a bit of space for people to sit and mingle for a while, but this is clearly more of a grab-and-go spot where they don't anticipate much lingering. I've only ordered from here a couple of times, always to go when I needed something quick for work, and I'll give them credit, they always have the food ready on time. I'd much prefer going to a larger location where you can sit more comfortably (they have like 4-6 small tables inside), so it won't be a place I regularly visit. I was going to go with just two stars because the tiny location and general lack of parking around lunch time make it a bit miserable to visit, but I had to give them a third star after my wife's family went there for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed being able to leave the nearby Starbucks and grab a bite to eat in proper chairs.

I had read that this place was "smaller than other locations" like "1/4 the size of a Jason's Deli"…read morebut we didn't realize it would be THIS SMALL. Like, it's got 5 tables??? After googling this location, it was listed as a Jason's Deli-Express. (Well, maybe that should be listed on the front of the store). I always get Jason's Deli salad bar well... that's not here. And the kids love the free ice cream... I don't think that's here either. We didn't see it. If you go to Jason's for sandwiches, this place would definitely be ok. Baked potato, yes. Ordering an already made salad, yup. So unfortunately, we left and went to a "normal" Jason's Deli where I could have my beloved salad bar and the kids could gorge themselves on ice cream.

Okkkk okkk now for the food!!! Not bad $12.95 for a breakfast bagel and a cappuccino. Freshly baked jalapeño bagel with egg and bacon and jalapeño cream cheese which they are make themselves!! When you come in through the bakery side you can see fridge with many options for you to add to your bagels (take home) and they had so much to choose from "smoked salmon, smoked fish, different cream cheeses, drinks, creams" Oml and more!!! I was originally going to purchase a bagel and prep it myself but the girl in the front told me about the restaurant and how many options I have to have them prep my bagel!! Yummm I looked at menu and they had so much but I had to go to work so I wanted something fast!! But will definitely come back to eat here with my family!!! The bagel was so good!! You can taste the freshness and quality, the Cajun fries were perfect!! It was a big portion for me and had left over for later!!! Definitely try it out !!! A big part of the decades long success at Local Foods has been their commitment to consistency…read more Their casual setting with excellent service is one thing, but quality executed food that is simple and seasonal will always go a long way. Before their recent expansions to Austin, it all began here in Rice Village exactly 15 years ago. The vibes are contemporary and casual, with the kind of space that fits for just about any scenario. Whether it's a solo meal, a lunch date, or a group led affair, the experience is almost always an excellent one. Start by ordering at the counter and find a seat where the food will brought directly to the table. So much of their variety caters to all sorts of dietary restrictions from vegan to gluten free to nut free. Their spicy crispy brussels sprouts ($10) are a nice starter, as is the squash "onion" rings ($12). The local power bowl ($16) is a classic and I've always enjoyed the brown rice and quinoa combo. Their chicken "posolé" is solid, and I love the large hominy bits along with the clear but green tint of a broth. The chicken shawarma bowl ($20) is an interesting mix that includes pickled beets and strawberries, along with their market cheddar burger ($17) and fabulous twice cooked fries. The carrot cupcake is strangely addicting, and I think their gluten free brownie is a bit of a sleeper. Some of their items didn't jive with me previously, such as an underwhelming cashew queso ($9), a semi-laughable Vietnamese steak bowl ($22), and their semi-gringo version of a banh mi ($15). It's not that these items are bad per se, but they definitely don't live up to the same standard that I feel their other dishes do best. Where they hit the biggest home run is their customer service. Everyone working behind the counter does their best to deliver and they almost always do by staying on top of refills, cleanups, and customer greets. I've always enjoyed my experiences here and look forward to every visit.

One friend had the Thai steak salad and I had the veggie burger made with quinoa, beets and other vegetables. Wow...is what I will say!!! It was so flavorful and the focaccia bun (not gluten free) was incredible! Plus the double cooked fries were delicious! Oh, the side potato salad and kale salad were also delicious! I look forward to being back there next time I'm in Houston!!

So I asked the proprietor "are you still serving breakfast?" His response "depends on what you want". Ok...how about breakfast tacos? He looks around the corner, replies "nope, those are done". So I wait for a few awkward seconds to see if he would tell me what's available. No info came. So I asked him "so are you switched over to lunch now then?". Yes, we have switched to lunch. Apparently in the last 37 seconds of that conversation, they have switched to lunch. Could have just told me that from the start and saved a lot of grief. So, by now I should have known better, but I asked "how about a latte?". We don't have lattes. Just a cup of coffee then?
